  1. Cool project, I'd be tempted to put a toyota engine in to see how many people get the link but I might be strange
  2. Maybe a look through some of the scratchbuilds in the truck section could give you some ideas on another fix. The ones by Jacobus (not sure if correct spelling) spring to mind but i know theres loads of others too
  3. i think you picked the wrong numbers, 4 x 5 is 20 and 8 x 5 is 40 so you still get the digital time of 20.40, lol
  4. I'd probably try using a straightened paper clip or other fairly firm wire with good glue. If the frame is thick enough I'd also scribe where it is to sit so as not ti interfere too much with other parts. If you try this way dont forget to run the wire over some sandpaper so the glue has something to bite onto
  5. I'm single so I dont need to worry about it, but my sister would find something worthwhile to do with them. We both stayed at mums during lockdown and she saw how excited i got over some purchases, particulary the 1/24 scirocco I found. She has an idea what they are worth but she also does a lot of charity stuff for ms so I'm not worried. The way I see it, at the end of the day I'll be dead so it really doesn't matter to me, its not like I'll be building them in my coffin
  6. I've been using duplicolour ral code silvers and golds under the lighter colours and they work pretty good for them but the brandywine just doesn't pop like it should. I'll try and find some of the vallejo to try. thanks
  7. i remember that when it first got coverage, its still just as cool. The tucker movie "a man and his dream" is decent too
  8. could you post a pic of your results please? I'm sure it would help many of us decide if we want it or not
  9. The fujimi 968 (i know its not a 928) is semi curbside if i remember correctly. Not too different of an appearance than the 928 so might also be a decent start point. the italeri 928 is ok but the wheels are pretty awful (probably mostly because they are chrome) but the body is ok to my eye but i wouldn't pay retail for one as some of it isn't at the fujimi level
  10. I was reading about porsches new efuel plant starting production (in peru i think)The plant is expected to make 3 million barrels a year once at full speed but they are still working some details out. It looked about the size of a large house and could be set up almost anywhere with excess renewable energy but to me it seemed a little misleading in some details. And very pricey
  11. It might help to search for restoration panels, they might have dimensions listed for different versions such as coupes or 4 doors
  12. i dont believe you, i can imagine you building it into some sort of rod, lol
  13. i think its a term for ooh a squirrel easily distracted folk, at least thats what i think off when i read it
  14. The darker spots may have been in the colour coat but not as visable until the clear went on. Clear can magnify the paint its used on in the same way black is more likely to show these things. I find taking paint that needs clear out in the sun or under a flouresant light for a check before the clear goes on helpful to see these things as other indoor lighting doesn't really show some things that well
  15. Wow that is beautifuly done,
  16. The price is probably high since it will have to be imported and shipping is still ridiculous for anything. I wonder how it would work as a base for hok pearls, i think brandywine would be pretty amazing over chrome
  17. did you get enamel or acrylic? they're supposed to be the same but they aint even close. the acrylics are garbage anyway and every humbrol acrylic i have seems to be mixed with sand
  18. i had to do it twice cos she didn't like the colour SHE chose, lol. I am going to redo my bathroom once the leak has been repaired though and probably in the blue she didn't like just to wind her up, pahaha
  19. thats an old pic, that piles doubled since then and i blame the glue fumes
  20. something, something, something dark side, something, something (bonus point if you get the reference)
  21. the rods and sods forum in the uk probably has loads of guys thats done the conversion and it can be pretty good just to browse but theres a load of them have been done. heres a more in depth build of one https://forum.retro-rides.org/thread/36945/1978-vauxhall-chevette-v8-2012 one of the uk mags built one on a beer and cigs budget back in the early 90s too but i'm not sure if ever got finished
  22. Car(s) of those type were called yuppie killers in the uk and easily found afterwards by the bags of coke left at the scene
  23. isn't there a dodge dart kit that looks like the charger? I'm very likely wrong but I'm sure I've seen someone build one on here
