  1. they do show up for some of the charts in the paint brands. eg if you select model master the chart will show the federal standard but i would go by the ral number. Its the number artist shops use so may open some other paint options in those shops. Some paint mixing systems use the ral number too as thats what each of the individual mixers are numbered with
  2. on the left of the page under the model options. its the bottom box. edit. it turns out i forgot the link, sincerest appologies its creativemodels.co.uk that has it.
  3. joined? its a shop website so i dont know why you would have to join. are you trying on a phone? I've only ever tried it on a laptop so it might be different on a phone. here a screenshot of what i see on the page
  4. on the lower left side of this website there is a converter for paint codes. Its drop down menu but it lists the federal paint codes and their equivlent model paints. Its just a drop down menu so easy to miss but its the bottom box
  5. For me the main advantage of 3d printing isn't really the quality but the variety. I've spent most of today playing with a vw saveiro g3 pick up, which was never going to be done in plastic or resin by anyone except possibly in south america and since i dont speak or read spanish the chances of me getting one would be slim to none. I spent 2 years hunting for a tempo matador truck and thanks to 3d printing i now have it. Sure the savairo needed a lot of mold lines smoothed down but it was scaled up to 1/24 from a 1/32 slot car so i expected that. I've got plenty more vw group cars to build now some that just need a couple of coats of filler primer and some that need a bit more work but i enjoy that bit, and many more lined up to print and probably 95% of them would never have been done in resin or plastic and its all down to 3d printing.
  6. I think you are worrying about nothing Jurgen, it may be that some of the humour doesn't translate as intended.
  7. As you know i was having problems with my photon mono x where it was seeming to miss out the middle of prints or only do a thin layer in the centre. This is as well as prints sticking to the tank. Today i decided to see if i could work out what was wrong. Well a completely nre problem decided to show it head before i could even get a print started. I filled up the tank as normal with a new bottle of resin and sat down to get the file perpared and sliced. When i got back to the printer the resin had solifified!! Luckily the edges were still a little soft so i got it pulled off before it was completely solid. I think it was down to the weather as my printer is near a window and the skies had just cleared after snow so it was very sunny but its something to watch out for. I've also been having solid clear globs appear on the tank when its been cleaned and sitting empty for a while so I might try and replace the film on the bottom of one of the tanks. So Now I'm about to format my usb as it seems it might be the problem i was originally having. Hopefully it works as nothing else has. On the other hand th m3 max i bought when i was made redundant works great and i've only had one failed print with it which i think was caused by using white resin and not changing the settings.
  8. I'll just get the file on cults, i can print my own then.
  9. scale production do the individual parts to convert a fujimi and i think there might be a hobby design kit too
  10. do you have a link for that shop, theres nothing showing for it on google
  11. I think someone needs to point out there are going to be times something funny happens and you might feel bad for laughing but dont. For example my friend colin passed away in december after less than a year of suffering. But back in august he was still colin, just very frail and easily confused by mundane tasks so had to be with someone all the time when he was awake. We had as many of his old honda bikes and both his corsair and newly finished simca at the show as we knew it would be his last. Anyway this was the day i realised just how unwell he was after we sat him in the sidecar of a 1920s bike. He managed to get into the sidecar easily but he just could not figure out how to get out again and it was starting to wind him up, so i just picked him up to lift him out which was shocking as he weighed much less than my 7 year old neice does. But this is where it gets kinda laughable. It was getting busy and colin was needing the toilet. I was the only man available to take him there as the disabled toilet was out of order so we had to use the gents. At first i tried him at the urinal but even if i helped more than i like (i had to hold it for him) it just wasn't going to work so I took him into one of the very small cubicles. Now colin starts to giggle because he thinks its very funny that we both squeezed into this small cubicle. There was lots of just chatting to colin to keep him calm which at the time i thought nothing about. Anyway we get finished up after a struggle and there lots of lines like "colin you just turn around and i'll get in" and other lines that could be taken 2 ways. so we get out of the cubicle and there this soldier guy (the territorial army were manning the gates) trying his hardest not to make eye contact or get too close that must have wondered just what was happening in the cubicle when there was lots of laughter then 2 guys get out. For the rest of the day i caught the guy staring but i dont mind, he can think what he likes cos helping my friend was more important to me than what people i dont know think. Another time that sticks in my head is wjen the queen died and charles was announced king. The news was on tv and referred to king charles so i said spaniel right after it. colin sat and laughed for nearly ten minutes at the idea of the king being a dog, then when he was almost calmed down I said "at least he has the ears for it" which set him of giggling again. It was the last time i saw him as the colin i knew and before long colin was gone and we were just nursing a shell of a human. Its disease and illness like these that make me believe euthanasia should be allowed for sick humans too. These diseases dont just rob the sufferer off their memories and dignity, they steal from the family and friends too and the effects of that will be felt for years. It causes family arguements and opens divisions that can be difficult to fix as everybody involved is dealing with a very personal issue so stress levels are high and even a little arguement can develop into something much deeper and long lasting. If they were simple pets we would be allowed to euthanise because it is cruel not to yet we let people suffer for years.
  12. most of my auto paints are stored top down or in a paint rack i got given, all open cans are top down but the small tins like tamiya are sitting upright
  13. I use automotive acrylic filler primer on my 3d prints and it seems to work for me. Its holts filler primer i use and i like it as it fills many of the print lines that are still there after cleaning up parts. Its also able to be used under enamels if you let it gas out for a few days but test first as i dont do this often and different paints vary.
  14. i ordered mine from hearns hobbies. they seemed fairly happy to send outside aus
  15. I dont know if its any help but the postage to the uk was around $30aus for one kit. On ebay the postage from aus is about $65aus for a kit. I would expect it to be about the same to the usa
  16. I'm not saying my mates kid is ugly, but when they dropped them off at school this morning they got fined for littering
  17. cool to see aussie cars finally, so have ordered the slammed hq
  18. I think thats the tougest part of it for family. We're so used to seeing these people as capable that we struggle to deal with it when they aren't. They are usually the people we turned to for advice so theres a sense of loss from that which people that haven't gone through it cant understand. In some ways it would be easier on us if there was some physical thing to remind us that they aren't well because again we'vw become accustomed to seeing them that we do forget sometimes.
  19. it may be better to get your sister to stay at yours for those couple of days. changes to his routine can speed up the effects of the disease and increase his confusion
  20. I guess I consider myself pretty lucky. Over the last 4 years i was in a reasonably well paid job so i bought up most of my grails while i could. But theres one that still eludes me and thats the tom daniels lil van kit as its all i need to complete my vw styrene collection
