So heres my first sucessful print, a set of raceline rims. I used up my waterwashable for these and there is noticable shrinkage compared to a set of the same i purchased before getting the printer. Its not a great pic. so after that was a sucess i printed the body for a 32 3 window with 0.05 layer and it worked. It was looking good until i damaged it removing the supports as they were very dense and i didn't think the uv would get through. It has a bit of warpage on the lower body also but that may be because i left it in the water overnight before curing and it softened.

I managed to get my printer working finally.

IT WORKED!!! and i worked out what i was doing wrong too. The final step for the z axis was on the next page of the instructions. all i think i missed was saving the zero for the z axiz. One line of type being on the next page meant i missed it. I printed out a set of wheels and since that worked i now have a 32 3 window body printing. I've reduced the number of supports slightly as they were a bit excessive but i'm just happy i finally got it working and havent spent a grand (had to upgrade my computer too) on an expensive ornament.

with the vallejo paints the bottle caps tell you if its enamel or acrylic. You can thin some of them but i cant remember the designation for the caps. I know when i'm using their weathering products i have to use them in a certain order or they react -
3 days is a pretty quick response time for an email. they would have been shut on sat and sun, and since its you guys thanksgiving they will most likely be busy with that and getting christmas orders out in time. I'd say their respnse time is pretty quick for any company these days

when i was growing up our local video store was a little bit seedy. my mum had been told you could get pirate new releases if you asked the right person. i'm not sure if mum asked the right person or not but it sure wasn't saving private ryan. very similar title but i'm not going to say it to save everyones ad blockers from imloding. suffice to say at least shes safe with netflix, lol

Mercedes Outlaws & Hot Rods
stitchdup replied to 89AKurt's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I dont think many of those are real, the front of car to hood areas look smaller on those than the real thing and theres kits for converting slk which the blue car still has the dash from. they were all built by s-klub la though- 130 replies

I hope they fixd the roof on the corrado, it has too much curve to it and should be flatter. The land rover model numbers refer to the wheelbase length. The first land rovers had a 88inch wheelbase but from the series 2 it went u to 90 on the short ones and the long ones started being made. I believe they started at 108 inch and slowly crept up to 112 by the early 90s but you could get them in other lengths by special order. also if your ever buying a used land rover try and find an ex coastguard one, low miles, better suspension and wheels and perfect servicing

working on the boat trying to get it cleaned for potential purchasers to view in a couple of days. The guy doing days is leaving his jobs unfinished and marking them off as done. I;m supposed to be going in when he's finished jobs to clean but i'm spending more time finishing his jobs because i cant do my jobs until his is done. I'm not qualified to do any of the jobs i'm having to finish but i am capable. He's supposed to be this super qualified seaman with 30 years experience that can do everything but so far he's a waste of time. But while he seemingly incapable of doing even the simplest of his own tasks he has plenty of time to criticise my work for not being finished. I'm trying to do my best work for my employer as he's always treated me well and this idiot is messing everything i up. An example of how bad this guy is, he wont lift the toilet seat cos I'm the cleaner and will be cleaning it later anyway and I put down cardboard at the doors to catch the dirt from the guys working in the engine rooms boots, and to give them a place to take off their dirty overalls and this guy took it upon himself to tear it all up and dump it cos why should i make my job easier. I'm about ready to throw him over the side cos i have my friend i look after refusing to eat or drink and i just dont have the patience to put up with this guys trash

have you considered a volvo rear axle. the 340 is about escort size and rwd but i dont know how strong those rear axles are. On this side of the pond the rodders use 240 series axles behind v8s up to around 400 hp but then its on to the 9 inch for most. If it works its a fairly cheap strong axle and comes with good disc brakes. -
i'd use automotive touch up paints or lettering enamels. their made to be used outdoors unlike hobby paints

Shortening a Hasegawa VW Delivery Van
stitchdup replied to PatW's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
just another thought, before you decide how much to shorten it, have a look at the chassis. you might find some of the body support ribs line up with the cuts, and if you cut through them it will give you more area to glue it back together which will be stronger than joining 2 end pieces. good luck
