  1. Thanks, my mag should be here in a couple of weeks so i'll be sure to give it a good read through. Any size or model reccomendations?
  2. Well I've decided to take the plunge and invest in a 3d printer. Its all down to a link someone shared yesterday for print files and a most of my wish list was on it, and with revell releasing the e-tron kit, interiors and a chassis wont be a problem for the audis, so I'll be calling a second hand kit place to sell a few of my 1/25 scale kits to help fund it but thats not really a big deal. I've been looking at the anycubic photon range as they seem to be the most used on here at least, but I'm not sure what to get. I will have around £600 to spend and I would be printing bodies and parts. Do I only need the actual printer? or are there other bits needed to go with it? How are they on fumes? my home is very small so they could be a problem for me due to health issues. My plan is to learn how to print the parts first, then later maybe start to draw up my own or modify existing files. I'm really looking for something as simple as possible and as near to plug and play as possible to begin with. I figure after spending about that much already on 3d prints i may as well get my own. Any advice greatfully recieved as i dont want to waste my money on something i cant use. I have a spare laptop i can dedicate to the printer if needed
  3. Since you plan to use q-tips for the cage and roll bars, try putting wire inside and it should stop it from bending too sharply and flattening on you. You can also use the wire to help connect 2 pieces together. Good luck with the build, it sounds fun
  4. is the kit proportioned like the box art? or is it just a really bad photo of the car
  5. yes and he's a member here too.
  6. do you have a printer? I have sheets of printable white vinyl that you could just use to print a sticker to cover the entire board. It would mean doing a template with your board design reduced to fit and you can easily smooth the edges of the vinyl with some fine sandpaper to hide the edge or a file like doing griptape on a skateboard. I'm happy to send you a sheet if you think it will work for you
  7. you mght find something you can use on some of the 80s and 90s revell kits with graphics. Some of them might work for surfboards if you trimmed bits out, theres loads of paints splash style
  8. try here, they are near bottom of the page http://www.finksgarage.com/
  9. help and sos mean the same on land but at sea only sos matters as help just means assistance needed, while sos means immimnent danger to life
  10. Look in the kids toys section for barbie/sindy travel sets. The smaller ones just need a little detailing or you can make your own using lego blocks since you wont see the bottoms
  11. shiny garage is a great source for the polish modified car scene
  12. i use marine electrical connectors. they have a plastic sheath but once you strip it away your left with nice stacks, and being marine they are stainless steel so polish up nice with a little thinners
  13. observers book of cars was an annual hard back small book with every worldwide production car featured, and was reprinted every year with every world car of each year
  14. humbrol dont do clear enamel, its a celulose paint for all of their clear colours. It wont do the job on molotowe as it just turns it primer grey
  15. if you order the s-02 from amazon its much faster delivery
  16. if the nozzle doesn't clean have a look through your other aerosol cans, there should be some that will fit and some are better than you get on the cans, i often swap my nozzles for those from window cleaners as they have a decent spray pattern
  17. I've used both and they did the job. The gauzy can be overpainted with other paints after it has dried. I haven't tried it with the s-02 but it works on the molotowe. With both of these the molotowe needs to sit for week before overcoating as it will marr the chrome
  18. Honda have been going downhill since the early 00s. maybe they need a honda family member in charge again
  19. My last ebay parcel came to the uk via guam? still arrived in less than 10 days though, even with a trip around the planet and a previous parcel went via hong kong and tokyo but it took 2 months to arrive
  20. x2 on the s-02 or theres also gauzy shine enhancer
  21. I'm not sure, I'll have a look but my kit was a built up with the later fenders. I had to trade to find the stock fenders
  22. I'm at work just now but will get pics when i get home
  23. Theres also a model railroad place called (i think) hattons. They sell diecast and trains but sometimes have models from collections they have purchased. I haven't seen any built ups there but since they sell diecast maybe built ups would be somthing they would consider.
  24. I've got an original in the turquoise blue/green and i traded some stock rear fenders on here for it. The fenders i got in trade were in a red/orange colour.
  25. gina were what i wanted from the italian tailor but instead i left with his wife
