chassis destroyed. gorrila epoxy is as trash as the rest of their garbage products. tried to clean off the useless unset epoxy and it fell apart. might be onto chassis number 4 or it might get thrown against a wall. just sick of wasting my time with nothing to show for 4 days

gorrila epoxy, been sitting for 36 hours and still not set, not stuck but it managed to destroymy chassis. it was well mixed and left for well over the 24 hours. what a waste of 4 days modelling, why sell a product that doesn't stick and call it a glue? i'd have been better off just spitting on it

stick a r32 in that and you have a current build. upsize and 3 piece the rims on a set of bags and you'd set the internet on fire

So i said I had chopped up a mini truck chassis to fit this. Well after seeing "first love" built by troy trepanier, it now has the start of a third chassis though I'm not sure it can still be called a chassis as its closer to a monocoque now. The notch is for the lower part of the oil pan and it sits flush with the chassis bottom. I'll be making a mount in front the engine for the supercharger and it will double as the front suspension centre mount. I havent made the suspension arms yet but i think I'll do my best to make the front and rear arms match. I fully intend to have the floor blend into the chassis so I have incorporated some dips in the side that will make sense later. I havent started on the rear of the chassis but it will be a bit more standard style with a custom independant suspension. I've added all the pics from the start to a flickr album if you want to see them without watermarks I think i might have a plan to get the truck moving again too. If i remove 5 or 6mm from the bottom of the fenders and running boards it should be a fairly simple job to shape them similar to the car. It will only take a few hours to print out a set of matching rims and i have a cummins already built that should fill the bay nicely. I wont be going as mad as i am on the car, its a work truck after all so it doesn't need to be perfect paint or body and may even have a little patina. I need to get the car of the bench first though cos its packed full of stuff just now for multiple builds, lol

Very cool, i'll be following. -
I'd be in for radwood, its the era that started being a car guy in and would be an excuse to use up some of the wilder bodykits. Just a pity there not more euro kits just for inspiration heres a fully 80s mk2 golf with a zender bodykit

I've been starting to think about the suspension for this. I want to stay independant on all 4 corners but i dont want anything too fussy looking. While looking for inspiration I came across troy trepanier's 36 ford https://radrides.com/builds/1936-ford/ I dont know much about how it was done as i cant find any build pics but it looks to be jaguar independant based, but with drum brakes instead of the discs. While i have some jag axles that would work, they jus wouldn't be custom enough and after seeing troy's set up I've decided to modify a quick change axle into a jaguar style independant unit. I'll probably be basing the front suspension of troy's design too as the mounts for it can also be supports for th front mounted blower. I think modifying the quick change will keep the theme of the build better than using a stock part would.

made a start on the rear fender trim, still not sure why i thought i should make it removable but it is what it is. Plenty more file work to go but at least the front fender trim is nice and simple

Looking For Some 15 Inch Off Road Tires

Have you tried spotmodel in spain. They often have extra parts for the nunu kits and one of them is the rothmans safari porsche. I got replacement parts for my r8 from them after i stood on the wing -
Loads more bodywork done even thoug it looks about the same. I chucked a quick coat of gold on it to see where it needed work and its getting closer. Then that idea about cutting the roof off just wouldn't go away. I decided against the split window just to keep something off the original shape to it. The cut is a little rough as the saw wandered into one f the cuts from the original chop but it'll be an easy fix. Ater cutting the roof off, the back was barely holding its shape so I added the inner fenders and rear fenders to the body for strength. I've also filled the rear window because it was too low to the decklid area to remove.

I've got 2 printers in my front room where i spend most of my time. During the summer i have the windows open but in winter i dont. The only ventilation is from the kitchen extractor fan but its rarely running. I have copd/emphysema and it hasn't affected it so far. I do get sore heads from the alcohol wash but antiseptics do that to me as well. It may be different for other resins. I do wear gloves when handling unexposed/unwashed resin but thats it as far as safety stuff goes with me.

Fun '80s plastic toy cars
stitchdup replied to Brian Austin's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Growing up one of my friends had a large plastic ford transit mk1 van. I think it was around 1/12 scale but could have been bigger and i was always jealous that he had it. I've searched ebay looking for one just for the nostalgia value but never found another. It had the diesel transit front and was white plastic with a red a team stripe but that might have been added by my friend as he loved that show -
What about Nissan Hardbody pickups?
stitchdup replied to chryslerjunkandstuff's topic in Truck Kit News & Reviews
you could possibly use the bed from the aoshima datsun 720, or graft the front from this on it. the datsun is a very basic kit though -
has the panamerica highway been done before? 19,000 miles of every road surface possible.

is it near an air conditioner? the dust they spit out is enough to set off a smoke detector. we had one on the boat that kept going off and it turned out to be dust from the airconditioner unti blowing on the sensor. Moved it 3 ft and it worked fine -
Is there any paint that will match
stitchdup replied to junkyardjeff's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Look for the colours RAL code. The RAL number will be the same for the plastic and paint as its the colour code used for mixing paints. They use the same numbers for plastic colours. Its not the manufacturer number you need, that is just for the car manufacturer colours. for example the RAL code for vantablack is #010100 and for base black it is #9005. -

Draw an equilateral triangle on the circle with each point touching the circle. now measure half one side, and mark on all 3 sides. draw a line at 90 degrees to the triangle wall from this point on all 3 sides, towards the centre on each line and the point the lines meet will be the centre
