  1. Do you have a website? You can email me at johnshamblin@comcast.net
  2. Thanks, Dave. Since this car will be white, I can make the decals on my ink jet. Can you do decals that have white for application on dark color models?
  3. I'm waiting for some decals for this and another historical NASCAR project. I may do a convertible version with that built up kit in the background. may do a convertible version with that built up kit in the background.
  4. Slot Car Fever has a few different Danica decals but I didn't see a #7: http://www.slotcar-fever.com/search.asp?pg=1&stext=Danica+Patrick&sprice=&stype=&scat=11&sfil0=
  5. One of the WCPD models I got in last week....
  6. I guess Louise drove several different cars but in the only photos I've seen, she has the same #94. I ordered a few sets of decals from Slot Car Fever (thanks for the source!) including some for Louise's Nash. I also ordered Cars 3 DVD from Netflix. I enjoyed the first two. Her car character looks like a Nash, which makes sense since she drove a Nash Ambassador in some races. In the photo of her '49 Ford, it looks like they did a quick cover up paint job on the door to change sponsors. Pretty rough looking car by today's glitzy stock car standards! I'm going to wait for the decals before deciding on the paint scheme. Meanwhile, if any of yall find more photos, please post 'em. John
  7. Thanks, Pat. I'm a retired graphic designer/art director and still enjoy piddling with this kind of stuff. I designed that logo for my model car site, salvage yard diorama, and some other projects. http://www.shamblesmodels.com/
  8. Wow thanks for all the input yall. You've got me fired up to pursue this project! I'll google slot car fever and get some Petty blue for the lower half. I may still do the before and after with that Tournament of Thrills kit as the "before". Thanks again, John
  9. Cool. Love the wagon and the purple Lincoln. I did a few hobby cars on weekends with some friends. This was one my last projects, a 1957 Chevy Sedan Delivery. It was a rust bucket basket case. New floors, rockers ... well pretty much everything. Found and rebuilt a small block 400 and auto trans. 6 years and god knows how much money, but it was fun.
  10. Another WCPD Impala recently won on eBay. I couldn't decide to use the chrome fender skirts or not. I painted them black, and liked it! I always liked fender skirts on 50s and 60s cars.
  11. Yes David, it's 1:24 West Coast Precision Diecast. They've been out of production for a while but are beautiful models with exquisite details. I had about twenty in my last collection but I sold my entire model collection when I moved in 2017. I missed it too much, so got back into it a little to enthusiastically!
  12. Another one I got in last week. I need to stay off eBay, dammit!
  13. Love that bodystyle. I think I've got an unopened kit of that Chevy in my stash.
  14. OK, I'm going ahead with a wrecked version. The only photo I have is a B&W. It looks like a two tone paint job, but I don't know what colors. Anybody know?
  15. Nice build! Love me some Monte Carlos. I've had several over the years. The last was a 2002 SS but this was my favorite, a '74 454/auto with swivel buckets and factory gauge package. Wish I'da kept that one!
  16. Buddy was running in 4th when he got out of the draft, up in the marbles, spun and hit the inside wall, then drifted back up to the guard rail. Buddy was one of my favorite commentators too.
  17. I got a few new die casts in this week. Here's the first one: WCPD 1959 Chevy Sedan Delivery in green. It rounds out my Sedan Delivery collection nicely.
  18. That's my favorite of all the Chevelle body styles. Keep us posted on your build. Love that color. I built one in a similar color many years ago. I wish I'd kept this one but sold it with my entire collection when I moved a couple of years ago.
  19. Cool! Loved those movies. Paul Newman in his last acting role was the voice of "Doc Hudson".
