Forever is a very long time.

Sign, sign, everywhere a sign.

Pretty minor update (it seems like most are doesn’t it?). The kit radiator with 3D printed fan is done. This part came out exactly as I was hoping.

Ok guys, this is my first attempt at flocking. How’d I do? Honest critique and feedback please. I'd like to improve on this. To my eyes it looks a little thin in spots and thick in others.

Her attention might be yours if you give it a shot.?

Thanks Carl! The hood and fenders came out pretty nice, but the body needs a little attention. I’m hoping to have it resprayed before the weekend.

Over the weekend I decided to make my own shifter. Here’s the boot, made from layers of sheet styrene cut with a leather hole punch. Today the body got its first few coats of paint. I had to stop after the third coat because I found a bad spot on the body shell. I’ll let it cure, lightly wet sand, and reshoot it as time allows. I am LOVING this paint.

Lots and lots and lots of today’s cars all look the same.

The hubcaps are chrome at last. I used Gaianotes premium mirror chrome over gloss black. I think I should have stopped after the first coat. They were a bit more reflective than after the second one.

My bottom layer exposure is set to around 18 seconds if memory serves. Also, the edge of the raft is angled allowing a chisel a place to start. It comes off without too much effort. Do you cure the part before or after removing it from supports? I always cure after. It seems to make the job much easier for me. After cleaning the part and supports, I submerge the whole thing in hot tap water (not boiling) for about 30 seconds, then remove supports. Then after the part is dry, it gets cured. Another consideration is the resin you use. Some is more brittle than others. Disclaimer- I’m by no stretch of the imagination an expert. I’ve only been doing this since spring of this year. I’m still learning as I go.

Of that, I’m quite sure.?

Absolutely gorgeous! Are the windows printed or vacuum formed? After seeing your other build, I bought a few of his designs too. Great stuff.?

Trying out a different product for washes today. It’s pretty easy to work with. Oil based if I understand correctly.

You can take that advice to heart, right before it explodes.?

Did a little more work on the coupe on and off this weekend. To start things off, I got the rims in primer and then shot gloss black with aluminum trim rings. Once cured, I’ll pop off the hubcaps and chrome them. Yesterday the dashboard was painted. Here’s a sneak peek at the color the body will be. This morning I got the body in primer. I used Dupli Color for this. Also got the suspension parts shot gloss black. And finally, I just now added a dark brown oil wash to the seat to give it a more realistic look. Let me know what you think. I didn’t want to over do it, so it’s a little subtle. I’m having a great time with this kit, and surprisingly I’m staying focused so far. The squirrels are knocking but I’m pushing them away for now.?
