Picked up another bucket list kit yesterday.

Got the distributor finished yesterday. The kit distributor cap was shaved off and replaced with a 3D printed replacement.

And there’s the flash I remember from that issue.? I spent hours trimming flash and still had hours to go when I tossed it back in the box. Thanks for the heads up though. That saves me the time of trying to find it.?

Shot primer on this body yesterday for practice and to test out Mr White Basecoat. The body is molded in orange plastic.

I had a thought last night. I have the first issue of this kit from 2000 (Baldwin Motion). I wonder what it looks like. If it’s in better shape I might be able to make a mold of that area to replace the offending spots on the orange kit.

This kit has quite a few issues. I’ve tackled a few of them in this wip. There are a few other wips for the same build. I recommend checking them out before you start so you know what to expect.

I’ve been working on this kit off and on for a long time now. The one thing that keeps putting me off is the headlight bezel areas. The molding is pretty bad. Any suggestions on how I can repair/rebuild that area? I’ve messed with it a little, but it’s beyond my experience level right now.

Hey guys, quick question about delamination. I just pulled this body off the printer, and 99% of it came out great. But the front roll pan delaminated a bit. So I think that’s telling me the angle at that area was too level to the print bed, correct? But the bigger question is, can I salvage it? If I trim away the layers that delaminated, can I putty it back in, or is this body scrap?

Got clear coat on my Mustang body this morning. Came out very nice, but it’ll need a little bit of wet sanding/polishing to really bring out the shine.

Instead of that, I had oatmeal and a cold blast of water on my ski behind the boat this morning.

Do you have to do any clean up to the files before printing? I’m curious to see how it looks coming off the printer too.

Also, they are capable of making a much better noise.
