Well, we still gotta pay for cow farts now.

I stopped following when my team, the Rams left LA. I don't see why I have to fit the bill for a stadium I will never go to or a game I will never watch. Yet another reason to leave California. I'm sure you all heard that California will now tax cow farts. The lunacy never ends.

Well, this site is full of very passion ppl, craftsmen at there art. One can say its hardcore and one I like very much. Ppl here pretty much know each other so don't take it personal if you feel it's insulting. If they weren't passionate, the site would suk, However you should look at your question as this is a model building forum, not one about how to build scale model building related web site. Now if you asked a question related to building etc... you'd have a ton of valuable replies. The answers you got are not unique. Try asking a framer, mechanic, engineer a similar question and you would have gotten an equally spirited answer. My advice is to lurk a few months and understand the subject matter you are attempting to build a site for. Actually build a car kit and post some questions about building it.

Eh, one can make money by directing traffic to websites. So rather then making a web site optimized for search (SEO), they can simply build a gate way of sorts that's SEO optimized. So the kid is simply trying to do that which is fine, nothing wrong with that. However it would help by having a passion in scale model building but not required. All in all I feel there is a greater chance of success if one has a passion for what they are doing.

I was on there site a few weeks past checking out a 1/25 Offy racing engine. Based on some quick digging, looks like they did the site using one of these turn key services like Word Press etc.. Seems like it was disabled via a plugin. So my guess is that its by design for whatever reason.

Excellent, thank you sir!

Nice links. I found them informative! Curious on what you feel would be a good filament to use, I'm assuming ABS which is Lego like. ABS* PLA PET HIPS

That's extremely interesting. Did you print any parts used on your model projects? If so, I'd love to see some work. Is it safe to assume a 1/24 car body thickness of say 1-1.5mm being 1,000-1,500ยต?

Yep yep, check here; http://shop.prusa3d.com/forum/ Scroll down a bit for the English version. Seems promising. Several colleagues use Simplify3D so that takes a bit of guess work out of it, plus they've a 2 week trial.

Very true, plus ppl are paid by a company to simply do good reviews of there products. But after a while, its easy to spot bogus reviews. However it's good to be skeptical. This product in particular has some good cross references as well as the decent user forum. All in all I'd say it's prolly my next big purchase.

Looks like the hot tip for ppl wanting to start 3D printing is the Prusa i3 printer combined with Simplify3D software. Seems like a lot of ppl interested in starting down this road go with this printer. The reviews on Amazon are cool and it looks like you can pick one up for ~$250 on eBay.

Total bummer. And I was gonna buy this kit for the 4 barrel carb/turbo setup. Glad you posted, thanks for that. -

Well, you can always call or email Revell as they have great service. Who knows, they may send you the spruce having that cool 4 barrel carb, that is if you don't have it in the kit. I'm very curious if you do. -
Beretta Pro-Street Engine related question
aurfalien replied to Mjolnir's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Hi, Based on these kit instructions, it looks to have both engine options. Not real obvious but page 3 and page 7 show different engines; http://manuals.hobbico.com/rmx/85-7168.pdf I assume this is your kit? -
Thanks for the replies and very good advice.

Wow you weren't kidding. The model I was looking at is about 60% off!

Hi, I've been researching this for a while as well as using one at work we bought for a measly $4K ~5 years back. I say measly as it was chump change to what was out there. Hardware is one thing but software is another. Any decent scan will require clean up in some sort of app, most notably Cinema 4D, Maya, 3DsMax etc... I think the cheapy printers come with some sort of light weight modeling app which won't take you that far. I'm going down the route of buying a 3D model, cleaning it up/customizing it myself and then sending it off to Shapeways. If you have time and will, you can find free models of some cool subject matter at CGTrader. Then tweak using the aforementioned apps and submit to Shapeways for a quote. At any rate perhaps I'm going beyond scope of your post as you didn't mention what type of parts you wish to print. Michaels has some interesting 3D printers by a company called Xyzprinting between 300-900USD.

Overhaulin; Foose Europa

Agreed. Low pro etc look great on a car designed with that in mind. But I feel one simply can't slap any tire/wheel on any car. The Richard Mille car Keyser posted a pic of has the perfect profile. -
Hi, Does any one have experience with 1/43 PremiumX resin models? How accurate are they?
