  1. Hi, Looks pretty cool, $155 + $30 (USD) for shipping.
  2. Hi, It shouldn't be an issue but has any one cleared Gravity paints with Tamiya clears? Of course testing is the quickest way to find out but I was curious as to the communities experiences. The Gravity clears; gloss and matte, seem a multi part system being a bit too complicated for me.
  3. Cool, thanks for that. I think its a great base to do add some fromage.
  4. Its hard to tell but can you approximate if this gear box is done well? If I get the Revell kit, I'll def snap some pics and update this thread for sure.
  5. Well, it appears the old Revell kit actually has an engine so I am in biznezz! Now I just have to find a reasonably priced one. I did find this which looks like a smashing kit, beautiful but out of my price range; http://www.ebay.com/itm/1-24-Maserati-Boomerang-SMP24-/272378909740?hash=item3f6b0c542c:g:suYAAOSwyvBV9Y4G The eBay post includes pictures of the instruction sheet which look fabulous. Done by a company; Super Modeling Project 24. By the looks of this kit, they do fantastic work!
  6. Well, it appears that any of the proposed solutions will be some what expensive. Oh well, kinda surprised no one has done this engine as it looks hot!
  7. Thanks wizards, I am researching now. CrazyEd, the Lotus looks like it would work pretty darn well, thanks man!
  8. Thank monsignor. I found this being a Kurtis Kraft Offy version; http://manuals.hobbico.com/rmx/85-4267.pdf The second page labeled as page 1 has the point of interest for me. I see what you are saying in terms of a big DOHC 4 banger. Maybe like a head off an older Datsun/Toyota 4 cylinder engine?
  9. Wow, LOVE the stance!
  10. Wow, lookin bad a$$.
  11. So are you saying there is not enough room between the end of the body pan (that black thing being the entire bottom of the car) and the axle coming out of the transmission? That's a tough one. My opinion; You'll have to stretch or elongate the tranny by a few mm using some Evergreen plastic sheets or spare parts from another kit. It's going to be a bit of work but you've come this far, so go big or go home Seriously though, I'm surprised this kit is that off in terms of this issue. I hope some one who has built this can chime in as I am very curious. PS Actually I would shave the body pan down a bit to create clearance. Seems like if you stretch the tranny, it may throw off the length of the kit itself. PSS How do the rest of the upper body panels or skin fit (stuff like the engine cover etc..)? I think that will dictate what to do in terms of lengthen or shorten.
  12. Hi, I am somewhat contemplating a future build and was wondering what V8 can I use in place that resembles a Bora V8? The Maserati Bora V8 has these cool looking heads which seem characteristic of there engines. Here are some pics and as usual, thanks in advance
  13. The new nozzle is horrid, but changing it out with a Tamiya nozzle works dandy.
  14. Ah, great advice, many thanks!
  15. Funny thing is that its pre thinned AB only paint. I'll thin it slowly but its odd.
  16. I am very happy to report that I can finally immerse my Tamiya paint cans in hot water to achieve fine atomization of the paint. Totally cool.
  17. I've been following this thread for some time and even though I sent a PM, I would very much like to express my sorrow in your diagnosis and experience with our healthcare system. There's not much to add other then stocking up when possible. Again, very very sorry. Being only 47, I deathly fear having to one day actually use it myself. I hope to never do.
  18. Cool deal, thanks!!! I increased pressure it it started to spatter so I assume too much pressure? I'll thin during my next session. Thanks again.
  19. Hi, While many of my problems are due to lack of experience, I've this one issue which is very odd. I've this very high quality air brush ready primer whose suggested PSI is 20 and I'm using a .5mm tip and about 3" away. It clogs my brush almost immediately and goes on very course, almost as if its drying to fast. Would any one have any insight as to whats going on? Its a very well known and respected brand and they have been very helpful in general.
  20. They will scan it; http://www.mimic3d.com/3d-scanning-services/?_vsrefdom=adwords&gclid=COrVmpusiM8CFYVcfgod7lMKRQ They will print it; http://www.shapeways.com/?gclid=CNfC76qsiM8CFdKIfgodpJoJhg Although cost may not be worth it regarding your application. Inquire and find out cost though.
  21. Hi Art, What PSI on avg do you use for thin paint?
  22. Well, not knowing most of those kits, I'd say get the Hulk one, it looks fun
  23. Wow, seems full detail!
  24. That's interesting as I've had great luck with the Rustoleum 2x Painters Touch primer. I use a few thin coats and let dry for a day or 3 due to it being an enamel. I think you can't beat how fast, thorough and smooth it covers. It's comparable to Tamiya which I think is the best primer in terms of smooth and dry time. I've used that Duplicover and it also rocks. In fact the only primer that I've had piss poor luck with is Design Master which is thick like syrup and rough like wool.
