  1. Now this looks so much better than the boxart model, you did a great job on this
  2. Interesting that you put up a picture of a Transit registered in Norway. You got any personal connection to it? That one there is a 1978 (possibly 79 model year as it is first registered on November 16. 1978) with a 2,4L Diesel engine (producing 62 HP) and has a load capacity of 1600kg (maybe downgraded so it can be driven on normal car licence as the permissable totalwheigt is exactly 3500kg).
  3. Are the Sharp dozer and excavator kits any good? Or are they as horrible as the Mercedes kit I posted a couple of pages back?
  4. I'm not a collector, I'm a horder. If I did not have limited funds and space I would be drowning in modelkits, diecasts and all sorts of other stuff. But I build models because I like to create something, I have creative needs in me that I have to let out. Having a large collection of kits, give me options. Any modelkit is a blank canvas that allows me to to what I want with it. Why am I in this hobby? Well, I came in to in my early teens and just kept on going. I like building, Its that simple.
  5. Here is another good documentary about the Delorean. Many have said that it was a great achievement to set up the factory and get the production going, in the middle of a politicly and religiously very tense area. It also gave jobs to a lot of people that did not have a job. I like the story behind it, one mans great vision that like som many others failed to go all the way. Too bad really.
  6. It's always sad to see old cars rusting away like that but it's also a testimony of how we perceive cars and their value. I can't think of how many stories I have heard over the years of cars that today are worth huge amounts of money, once have been used as beaters and many have been left to rot or scrapped. Like this one guy that had a very eary VW Type 2 "barndoor" Samba bus sitting in his barn. Complete car, in good condtion, just a few dents and some shoddy paint. He torched it because he was tired of having that old thing sitting there. Today, that is a car worth a 100 000$. Some of you may know about the british motoringjournalist Quentin Wilson, he is wellknown for buying and selling cars (mostly classic) and in one of his tvprograms he talks about someone trying having difficulties getting rid of their old 427 Cobra. What today is new and shiny will be junk tomorrow and todays junk may just as well turn out to be tomorrows gems.
  7. Maybe you should just leave the body off, put it in parts next to the frame that is sitting on axlestands in a garage like somone just started a new project
  8. This looks very nice Your 1:1 truck looks nice aswell.
  9. On my own 1:1 69 1300, the floor on the drivers side is fine. It's the floor under the battery (under the backseat on the passengerside) that rusted out first. And my 1:1 bug looks to be in quite a similar condition to this model at the moment. I bet Edd would be really happy about it after Mike had bought it aswell
  10. Nice looking Land Cruiser you got there. I have thought about getting one of these kits aswell as around here they use these as wreckers and I want to build one of them.
  11. So where do I stand today? Here: I have decided to redo the camper part. The cab and front section will stay the way it is as I do not want to tear it apart. The camper part will go trough a process similar of the home-decorating programs on tv. I will change the dark and gloomy colors and I have gotten curtian material, wallpaper and as a first installment I have put a new tablecloth on the table.
  12. Ahhh...look at that. Looks just like a bug that is sitting on a street waiting to be rescued. Love the details with the leafs on the roof and your weathering skills are great, looks just like real. Teddy looks great aswell. You should put it on a little streetbase with a little spot of oil just under the engine After all, old Volkswagens don't leak oil, they mark their spot.
  13. Thank you and yes, it is to nice not to finish it. Got some nice ideas for detailing it on the inside aswell now.

    VWs

Like that panelvan a lot, need to get my hands on that kit
  15. Thank you, I notice that the camper has yellowed a lot since the pictures where taken back in 2011. I may have to strip the paint. Maybe I should go for a different color on the camper.
  16. This looks very nice I'm guessing this kit is the same that they also released as the Daisy Duke Jeep?
  17. Now I'm finding my way back to old projects. This one I started in 2011 and almost finished then but one of the decals got messed up and the partsfit on the camper was bad so I stranded. Got a new set of decals from a friend and now I'm back on it and hoping to finish it this time. Started out with the Monogram F250/F350 kit, AMT/ModelKing Open Road camper decalsheet from AMT Star Truck. This is where I started back then. Was getting together: I had painted the interior for the camper: And this is where it stopped: As you can see, the decal on the right front got messed up and I tried to fix it by printing out a copy on my printer. Did not look good. Now, I have gotten it out of a box. Dusty and some parts have come of I'm going to change a few details on it and try to apply the new decal for the right front. Will post pictures of that later.
  18. What they could do today is a similar progam to the one in the "Charlie and the choclatefactory" story. Something like a golden ticket in the box that wins you a price. Say that they make 1000 kits and out of those maybe 100 boxes have a ticket that gives you a discount on a new kit and maybe a 50 boxes have a ticket that gives you a free kit and then for a big price in only one box could be a trip to someplace and say 10 free kits and supplies. The numbers I used here are just taken out of the blue but I guess you get the idea.
  19. Same method that I have tried in the past then, you must have gone mental and removed a lot of material from the back of that one. It looks so thin that one could almost belive that it would brake apart out of its own weight. Great job indeed
  20. Kamei is German producer of stylingparts for cars (and some other things) http://www.kamei.de/aussendesign_de.html They even produced what I belive must be one of the first frontspoiler for a vw beetle back in the 50s. I would not call it pretty but this is today superrare and higly collectable.
  21. This looks really good, got the Scout II kit myself and this is an inspiration
  22. That looks seriously rusty, amazing detailing there. But a couple of questions, would the tires still hold air after sitting for so long? And what method do you use to make the body look this thin and rusty?
