Here it comes - my competitor for the Cannonballrun 2015 - "The Sleeperball" It bases on the Tamiya Mini in 1/24. Studded with fine parts out of a Honda Integra (engine, transmission), Honda Civic (exhaust system, interior) and self made little things. Some more cutting on the engine and engine compartment as well as the dash board as supposed were needed but in the end it fits properly. I looks clean like an oob without seat belts or such things. My priority was fitting the "foreign" parts and the clean look. Here the pictures. Feel free to say, what you think If you like it, please vote for it here http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/topic/106766-2015-cannonball-run-cbp-completed-builds-thread/

Love it! Not only because it's a Beetle. The little details, the stickers and the rag top. The rag top turned out awesome! The stance is on the point like I remember them on car meetings. Classic!

Cannonball Run 2015 " The Sleeperball"
christian-w replied to wagonmaster's topic in Community Builds
Sorry, that I reply this late. I was a little busy and *hurray* a couple weeks on holiday. But - and that is the main point - my Mini is done. If I see the progresses here, my Mini is just simple. It looks like an oob built with only an other engine Added one picture. I will park it in the gallery this evening. Have to do a shooting -
Looks like a bad thing - cool

Nice color and a beautiful paint job! Like it

Thanks for your answer to my question The crack is hard to see. It depends on the angle. On the first pictures it looks like a hair or just an imperfection in the paint. You fixed it pretty good! @StevenGuthmiller ...

Those wheels aren't my taste. The idea on the other hand is pretty cool! The overall look is good! I like the color schema and in a kind of a way, it works together very well! Did I get you right, that the wheels are handmade with even the "F" in it? EDIT.... Just answered my question by looking at your facebook site - awesome!!

maybe the paint is not perfect but it is your interpretation of KITT and it's good. What happened with the spoiler? Why you made it by your own (it's still good work!)? -
And all the shiny paint without clear coat! Super. Like the car completely.

A Ford. Who had thought about this You've done a great job on it. The color is beautiful and the car very shiny. Looks super. I think a lot of people would have thrown the car into the trash. Good job!

A really cool, nice and clean built! The color schema looks nice (love dark blue metallic) and the decals are perfect to this colors. Very well done!
-
ditto! I'd like to see this nice color in the sun. Must be awesome! Great paintjob. Nice and shiny

Nice and rare! Good to see one completed Like the details you spent on the car. The engine with booth intercooler is cool.

This one looks beautiful. I like it because it's (in my point of view) rare on the internet. Thank you for sharing!

Awesome! The A-Team van looks very good. But I like the Nissan & trailer most. Al the stuff and weathering is pretty well done! The illusion of a heavy weight vehicle is well seen at the Nissan.

And how did you fix the crack? What did you use to close it on the surface? ..... Maybe I'd asked you in my first post ... Sorry.

Beautiful paint job, clean built!

The engine details looking very good! Could it be, that this is the Revell / Monogramm kit? I noticed the missing rear side marker as well and had to check my Firebirds (all by AMT/ERTL) whether I missed them to. But they are right there so I guess, Revell missed it. Sadly, the front bumper doesn't fit properly. Another issue by the model kit to take care before painting. I solved this while I cement the front bumper before I paint the body. So I can set my hand to it to close the gap. I still have the model kit in my shelve by AMT. Maybe someday it'll be next to my built ones.

The decals are pretty good!

Nice color for the car! Love the S2000. Is the crack on the hood (right corner above the headlight)? It looks like a hair lying on the hood. Anyway: you have to know it to see it.

Nice and clean build!

New Site/Forum Look

Maybe it's just my problem (sorry, I didn't read all the things before and can not be sure, whether the "problem" was already listed somewhere): If I push the ENTER key, there is always a empty line between the lines. I don't get this away. Then: wasn't it possible before the update to see the text (I've written so far) either the source text (what I prefer) or as "wysiwyg". I don't find this button anymore. Last: "My activity". I'm able to check, where I posted some words. But if there is any new post, it is not on the top of the listing. For example: the "Sleeperball". I posted something on July, 16th. In the meantime there are another 11 posts. Just today some minutes ago the latest. But the topic is still in "the middle field" on the "My activity"-list. No hint, that there are new posts. Before the update, the thread would have been on the top of the list. This was pretty cool and made it easier to check, what's new in topics, I'm interested in. And: you were able to jump to the first unread post after my last visit. Hope you understand what I mean. Try to insert a picture. Worked
