What is to say about this built? It was a gift of my modeling club on Christmas 2010. Like I wrote at my Porsche 944 & 944 turbo convertible it was a kind of community build. The motto was open. I wanted to have a aggressive look and the fact, that the wheels were missing, I let my ideas flow. The basic was 1969 Dodge Charger 500 1/25 AMT #38015 I took the engine of a 1971 Charger, built the interior completely new as well the engine compartment. Some wiring and it was nearly done. First my idea was to fit rivets onto the body but It was to much work for me so I decided to make some small stripes and push rivets by my own - at the end I pushed 1472 rivets. Glue them on the body and the rest will make the painting. It was a try and it went out perfectly. The decals are of a Helicopter (Italeri Super Cobra 1/72). Pictures....

Additional to the coupe I built the convertible at the same time. For you as an information, it's this kit: 1989 Porsche 944 Cabrio 1/24 Italerie #655 Built it oob except the rims (also dechromed) and the upholstery.- 27 replies

Newly registered, I'd like to show some finished model kits during my model-builder-career First of all, I start with my two Porsche 944. The coupe I build as a Christmas gift of the kind of a modeling club. In the meantime it's tradition, to make a present to a big bag and everyone grabs one of it. Before the unwrapping starts, we chose a motto. Then it's the task to finish the build until the next year's Christmas meeting. So I grabbed the Porsche 944 and the motto was "yellow". I was happy with the motto and the car So her it is with a couple of pictures. Base of the model is the following kit: 1986 Porsche 944 S 1/24 Italerie #3659 A quite simple kit. I decided to let the hood closed because the engines compartment is not that awesomeness. You know. Painted it yellow and sealed with clear coat. All out of the spry can. I dechromed the rims and painted them with regular silver. I didn't like the chrome because they aren't chromed originally and it looks a little like a children's toy. The upholstery are self-made decals. Painted the window trim with airbrush, completed the rear wiper with a motor and two cables and that it in summary. Here the pictures....

Found a picture of the instruction sheet. Here Revell made the mistake with the drawing. Don't know wheter the parts are right named or there is a mistake too. Will double-check this with my brother.

This color look pretty good on the 308 and proofs again: a Ferrari can wear any color I like Not-Red-Ferraris Funny: I have the 308 in the same color - but 1/43 in scale. I love the 308 or 328. The design is the best ever on a Ferrari. Take a look to your first picture - beautiful lines <3 The only thing I don't like: the license plate sticked on the front hood. I would have it placed to the front bumper as usual. But it's a really nice model anyway.

Congratulations! It looks awesome. The rims fitting perfect to the buick and the detail work is amazing. Like the colors at the exhaust *thumbsup*

Hi from Germany! I own a Beetle and together with my brother a Camper like your Vanagon. Like your models. But you changed the mirrors of the Vanagon. They aren't right in place. The left one belongs to the right side and the other way round. It's funny, that some guys in Germany also have this mixed up. To my regret I have to say, that no Camper did it into my shelf. But! I took a look into the build sheet and it looks like Revell drawed it wrong! I have to contact them

The body looks so smooth and clean. The paint is very shiny. Nice! Like the details under the hood

Nice (two) little cars I like the old ones. The colors matching very good to both.

Great ideas and well done! As I saw the first picture, I was also reminded on the "789" (post #9) The only thing I dislike: the hoods aren't closing properly. Van you fix that or will you still leave them open? The idea to make the hoods functional is a master piece. Sadly of the closing

Never saw this car built! Well done!

The car, the diorama, the pictures: amazing. Respect.

My brother. I saw your Benz this month and it is a pretty good conversion. Maybe next time you give the sidepipes a little kick more to the outside. No more words to say

GunMetal Foil?

Me too. The black BMF hasn't that good result like the others (chrome / ultra bright chrome or gold). It feels sicker and it's not that "smooth" -
Did you took away the chrome of the wheels? What color did you take for the wheels? It looks a little "rough" on the rims. The paint of the rear bumper looks very smooth. Your interior is also a clean build. For my opinion, it's a little to shiny. Greetings to PA! I was married to a girl from Dallastown. So I know York a little or the base ball field of the York Revolution. Have some good memories Love the area around and this is the only thing I'm missing since I've been divorced. PA - America starts here !

Uh. This idea is great!

This project looks pretty cool. Will you aging the HotRod like your example on page #1 or would it be a shiny thing (related to the fine new wheels)? Looking forward to the progress.

A Trabant You wouldn't believe, that I don't have this car in my collection. Once I had it, but sold it decades ago I see a Studebaker in your avatar - is this yours? Love them Thank you for the welcome words! You can be sure, that I look up to my brother. First he forced me to build model cars again (had a break a couple of years while I had some trainings because of my career) and then he showed my this incredible forum with so many awesome builds. I'm gonna start some threads with my latest builds. Maybe some of my childhood. Thank you! I appreciate it

Good morning and hello! My name is Christian and I joined the board because there are a lot of cool builts to see, awesome projects and surely cool people. It's a long time ago, I visited the page often. But since it's possible to attach pictures, I saw the need for a registration. My borther >Dominik< forced me too to become a member of MCM. So here I am Some data of me... I'm 41 years old and live in Meckenheim near Bonn (formerly capital city before the wall came down). I'm luckily divorced (whoohoo!) but perfectly happy in a relationship. I'm a big fan of The Simpsons and like my 1:1 cars. I'm a professional soldier at the armed forces' department (hopefully the right translation) and I think it's my last post here in Bonn before I retire in 2029 . Model building career... I'm building model kits since I was approximately 12 years old. My main interest is in cars, scaled 1/24 or 1/25. I'm a big fan of the USA and so my collection is mostly for US cars. I own 162 ready built models, something around 50 model kits are less or more on the workbench and 264 are still in the shelf. I think, if I could build one model kit each month, I wouldn't be able to finish them all Also it would mean, that I don't have to buy one more. I think, I'm not the only one here with the instinct of the "hunter and gathering"-guy. The last weeks I pointed out, that I'm in the mood to build some trucks. I built my last one around 20 years ago - holy BLAH_BLAH_BLAH_BLAH, time flies! I chose the Ford LTL 9000 or/and Aeromax - because it looks really cool and it's seen less than Peterbilt or Freightliner (in German forums) - and when I was a kid, we had one. My search went on to find exactly such a kid we (my brother and I) had. After I had some brainstorming with my brother, it was clear which truck it was: the Ford 9000 LTL in 1/24 of Italerie (kit #728). So I'm on this kit since some weeks. My English might be good enough to talk about different topics while I'm in the States on holiday but maybe in this special topic (building model kits) it could be hard to describe or explain something. Please be patient I'm happy to be her, let's go!
