  1. That is it in a nut shell. Well said.
  2. Get some Plastic Magic bottled glue from Deluxe, available at Mega Hobby, This stuff holds very well and does not leave any residue behind. Go to the Deluxe Materials sight, https://www.deluxematerials.co.uk/en/rc-modelling/34-plastic-magic-5060243900210.html. Look at the demo. This is a British site so don' be alarmed at the prices. You can get there products at Mega Hobby here in the states. This stuff really works great. I even went as far as to put a dab of this glue on a finished engine block just to see the results. It dries fast and invisible. I put my wires in the drilled out holes in the engine block, and then dab some of this glue on there. Works flawlessly.
  3. BTW I forgot to mention that BNA has the 3M line of pads. I have a complete set of them. They work real well.
  4. you can get these at BNA http://www.bnamodelworld.com/hobby-tools
  5. Darn another one. However what is the happy medium or do all of them have good qualities in different ways?
  6. Thankx Mark, that is another one I missed. Very true indeed, that nail polish really does look good. I should have realized that one, as my wire is a licensed nail tech.
  7. Yea I forgot the MCW. I probably forgot other ones also. Thanks for the reminder.
  8. I was wondering if the different brands of paint available for air brushes is strictly a personal choice or is there one paint company better than others. I see so many of you guys use HOK, Testors, Zero Pints and Scale Finish.
  9. Ah a fellow member of the Vietnam era. I was stationed with the 554th Eng Bn. in Bao-Loc. I married a Vietnamese girl. Been now 44 years since I was there. I really liked it myself. I have 2 sister-in laws here in the states now. My wife is on the phone constantly. Any way welcome to the board.
  10. Looking forward to this build.
  11. Now that is what I call super clean and well done. Congrats.
  12. I really like the model. Looks so darn realistic. The pictures look just fine on my end, using a 27 inch monitor. I also have bad eyes so the pic size is just perfect for me. Keep up the great work. I always enjoy you builds.
  13. I always look at a model and think of doing something else to it. It is fun to refurbish a model. However there are couple of my cars that you could not pay me to touch again.
  14. What he said The only time I wash a model is after it has been exposed to a paint remover. Otherwise I just prime and paint. Never had one problem with paint of any kind.
  15. I agree with the BMF however I use Model Masters Amber turn signal and Red stop light paints, thinned just a hair to let the paint flow evenly.
  16. All of the above methods are great. I however use 3200, 3600 and 4000 with water and lightly sand. Next use some 3m scratch-x and do a lot of rubbing, just about to the point where it wants to shine, buff off, and add some polish as needed. I use McGuire's cleaning wax, and then some Carnuba wax. Super results all the time.
  17. I like it the way you are going with it. BTW where did you get the wheels?
  18. I recently have been redoing a 67 Chevelle and I was working on the panel lines to bring them more to the fore front. Well all went well until I moved to the trunk area. As I was working my way on the left side panel line on the trunk my scriber went off track and did a slight awkward line. It was all my fault, however I have a approx. 1 inch portion of the line that is messed up. Is there anyway to straighten out that portion of the panel line so that it looks as close to normal as I can get it? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
  19. A really nice clean build.
  20. I was really into building, nearly 15 hours a day. I just could not get enough. Then for reasons unknown I didn't touch a thing for nearly 3 years. I would go sit down and look at things and figure that would help. Nope didn't do a thing. Then just as suddenly as I stopped, I started up again. Weird hobby.
