  1. I use PE blades a lot, and they are quite sturdy,
  2. Definitely future.
  3. How does Tamiya's clear stack up to the others? BTW, after seeing lots of Steve's work, I trust in what he says.
  4. I put down a Duplicolor primer coat, then Humbrol Acrylic spray coat of gold, then a Duplicolor metallic final coat. All turned out quite well, but I was wondering what is the best clear coat to put on. I never use a clear coat, I have always wet sanded and polished my models. I want to put the best possible clear coat that I can without loosing the quality finish that I now have. Any help would be appreciated.
  5. That is the way it is for me also.
  6. I had a 70 Cuda with a warped hood. I went to the Revell site and ordered a new one. Only took 2 weeks.
  7. I am trying to get some opinions on the best way recreate wood grain texture for steering wheels and other interior parts.
  8. From another (Army) vet, welcome. If you have a Revell kit you can go to their site and request a replacement. If it is AMT, MPC and so on, you can go to the AMT site, download their form, fill it out and mail it in for a replacement. Both take about 2 weeks in turn around time.
  9. Elmer's glue puts out a product line of markers called Paints. There silver is better than the silver sharpie. Comes in various tips also. You can get these at Walmart.
  10. Don, that is the ticket. Thanks.
  11. Thanks Mark. I assume that acrylic is a go in any sequence?
  12. I can't ever seem to remember the proper sequence for paint. Which paint can't go where and which paint can go on all other paints. Can someone please remind me of the proper order for paint. Thanks.
  13. I have a brand new 71 Cuda custom hood that I can not use, if anyone is interested in it, please PM me. Thanks.
  14. Nice to have you a board. I am just to the south of you, in Columbia, SC. So welcome neighbor.
  15. Could that been Johnny Rivers?
  16. Nice haul. Hope you still have some $$ left.
  17. You just have to ask yourself, if you are OK with what you got, then no harm no foul. I personally do not have but about 20 kits now. Sold and gave away nearly 90% of my stash. Being crippled and getting on in the years, made me realize I had to much. Have fun.
  18. I think you nailed it. Looks great.
  19. Just arrived, a bottle of Plastic Magic and the Pin Flow Applicator, Rocket Plastic Glue, Pin Point Syringe Kit & Perfect Plastic Putty. I just ordered The Scenic Snow Kit Deluxe. The scenic snow kit by Deluxe Materials features snowflakes, scenic bond adhesive, and icy sparkles. Watched their video on this, and you can achieve very realistic results. The Rocket Glue is a thin capillary glue which has a nice applicator. Works great. The Pin Flow applicator is basically the same as The Touch and Flow, except a bit easier to use. The perfect plastic putty is very easy to use and much easier to sand than regular putty. The Pin point syringe kit can be used to apply the putty or glue. 20. http://www.micromark.com/Micro-Punch-Set,8603.html
  21. Thanks, I am ordering one today from Micro Mark, unless you know of a better and cheaper route.
  22. Does anyone here use a micro punch system to cut out gauges for model dash boards? If so, are micro punch sets worth it, or does anyone have a different method to accomplish this
  23. http://www.modelroundup.com/category-s/173.htm Jeff the last item on that page. Thanks for that info Dave., I did not realize Model Roundup had these. Good info to for the future.
  24. Here would be a great place to start. http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=p2050601.m570.l1313.TR0.TRC0.H0.Xscale+model+gas+station+decals+or+signs.TRS0&_nkw=scale+model+gas+station+decals+or+signs&_sacat=0
