  1. Those engines were based off the early Buick aluminum V8s, not Chevy so it looks about as much like a Chevy 350 with two cylinders lopped off as a V8 Ford or Mopar would.
  2. Yea, you can tell it's a copy of Perry's because it has a glaring mistake carried over from it. The front of the hood and bumper is way too flat. It should have about the same amount of angle to the center as the Monogram '70 does. R+R resin also did a copy with the same mistake. He's also been out of business for years ,, passed away. If it were me, I'd use the chassis from the AMT '69 442. Much better detail plus poseable front wheels. The new Revell '68 Chevelle chassis would also be a good choice with great detail. The only Buick engines out there of this generation are from the Monogram '70 GSX which is a 455 and 1/24. Wrong valve covers and a bit large for 1/25. The other choice is from the AMT '69 Riviera. Right scale plus slightly undersize so it looks like the 400 under the hood plus it has the correct valve covers.
  3. I haven't even started it yet. After the first burst of interest it took me over 3 months to get my hands on a new body to work on and by that time no one had mentioned it again. SO, I guess I should start working on it again after I finish the car I'm working on now. It'll have the front and back ends and dash.
  4. Anyone remember "Burn Notice"? ,, No, not Fiona's Hyundai ,,, I was thinking something more along the way of Michael's Charger. Round 2 could easily do it by reissueing the old MPC "Super Charger" with an extra hood and a set of Magnum 500 wheels. Bonus points if they correct the wheel openings.
  5. Moves like his dad when he sings too. I prefer his solo stuff more. I have 2 of his albums, can't find a copy of his first one. It seems to be pretty rare. Anyway, here's 3 of his I really like.
  6. Looks like a full size Palmer. ?
  7. LOL ,,, Pure Quebec in the '80s ,,, cocain and hookers. ??
  8. If it's an all new tool, it could only be a Family Truckster. BUT, I'd rather see almost anything else.
  9. I have their first album.
  10. Hey, 40's not so bad. I turned 55 yesterday. But, yea, I can usually guess a person's age pretty close by their taste in music.
  11. Nope, still happening.
  12. Pro Street '69 GTX. There's pics of the new box art in the Nirenberg toy fair coverage from a couple days ago.
  13. JC, have you heard of this album? If you like percussion, I think you'll like the 8th track. It's a drum showdown between him and his father.
  14. So, TJ, I bet you must be around 40 ? My tastes are a bit older. Plus, being Canadian, we had a lot more European influences in our "top 40" radio airplay back then. Bonus "best of" album,, Canada's greatest bar band in the '80s. I still have all these on cassette and play them loud when I'm cruising around in my T/A. ?
  15. I have high hopes for that kit. I was going to get one of the Heller coupes but I think I'll wait for the ROG kit. BTW, I had a friend in our model club who owns this beautiful XKE. He said the 1/8 kit isn't all as accurate as people think either.
  16. Cool. Kinda reminds me of something I've seen before but I can't quite put my finger on it. ?
  17. Anyone know, or heard anything about them lately? I know there's been nothing on E-bay from him in over a year now.
  18. Well, all I know is when I do a Google image search for "1971 Ford Thunderbird" all the pics of them have the bright front pan and when I do a google image search for "1970 Ford Thunderbird" all the pics show then with a body color pan. So, I'd say David is %100 correct with the bright pan on his build.
  19. No problem, but I'm not Duke.
  20. It's not actually part of the bumper, it's just a sheetmetal pan. On the '70 cars they're painted body color but, yes, on the '71s they seem to be either plated or painted bright silver. This is a '70.
  21. The grille is finished and I'm working on the under hood area and interior. The long ram intake manifolds were in a junk box I bought at a show for $5. and the valley cover is foil cast from one in another junk box. I'm smoothing out the inner fenders and will I try to match the fade on the body. The interior is almost ready for some paint. I see a couple spots that need a touch more filler.
  22. OH, man! I forgot all about that and I mastered their tail lights. LOL ?
