  1. Ray, did you get my message about the wheels?
  2. Other unique parts in the kit were the hood, a roll bar, rear fender flares and a radar detector. The wheels are the same wires as the ones in the Monogram Miami Vice Daytona kit. The odd looking front end is actually kind of a cross between what the IMSA and IROC race cars were using on Camaros at the time.
  3. No worries, I miss stuff all the time. ?
  4. True ,,, but it will never be as cool as a glass house Caprice. ?
  5. I couldn't say about that. But,, the 454 wasn't available in California. That may be the source of the confusion. Here's a page from the American '76 Chevy brochure listing the available engines, it's right there. If you can't see the page, here's a link. http://www.oldcarbrochures.com/static/NA/Chevrolet/1976_Chevrolet/1976_Chevrolet_Brochure/1976 Chevrolet Full Size-10.html Wiki also says it was available in full size Chevys through the '76 model year. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chevrolet_big-block_engine#454
  6. That PE set you have there is for the '65/'66 kits. That front clip is from a '67 kit. You have the wrong sheet for the car. MCG did do a sheet for that '67 Shelby kit but I can't find a listing for it anywhere now. [they show it on their home page though] PS, both sheets they show at the top of their home page seem to be no longer available.
  7. Australian Valiant Charger.
  8. That old kit review that said the 454 wasn't available in '76 was BS. My '76 Caprice Classic Landau came from the factory with a 454 4bbl.
  9. I guess you didn't read all the posts. Here's the last one I did again ,,, "Well, all I know is when I do a Google image search for "1971 Ford Thunderbird" all the pics of them have the bright front pan and when I do a google image search for "1970 Ford Thunderbird" all the pics show then with a body color pan. So, I'd say David is %100 correct with the bright pan on his build."
  10. No wonder about it, of coarse it's a reissue of the MPC kit. Here's the original release of the '76,, and here's the last reissue from Round 2 , ,
  11. Early Rabbits had carbs too. I had one.
  12. I'm not ticked off Scott, but I'd just like to point out that although they were very similar, the MPC Toronados were a separate kit from the AMT/JoHan kits. It's most apparent in the underhood area.
  13. Looks good Steve.
  14. Model Car Garage has PE diamond and honeycomb mesh sheets plus stainless steel and brass screen.
  15. Is that chunks out of the rims of the two on the right? Other than that, they look great.
  16. Huey Lewis & The News in 2012. Dare I say they put on a better show than the ZZ Top show I went to a few years later. Too bad Huey can't sing anymore. I got their last album a few weeks ago and it's great.
  17. Got the body painted and polished out. '69 Pontiac limelight green from Scale Finishes with Testors lacquer clearcoat. Went through a bit on a couple high spots but I'm pretty happy with it and I'm not gonna mess with it. Left the roof without clear to simulate the vinyl on the roof.
  18. That would make it a '77. MPC, like the actual car maker , would have the kit available a few months before the actual model year. That's one of the reasons some mistakes would crop up with their kits.
  19. Simple resin curbside I did about 15 years ago. The green is custom mixed and the woodgrain is handpainted.
  20. That looks fantastic Roger. ???
  21. Thanks Carl. You're the one guy I can count on for a support on here over the years. ?
  22. Thanks guys.
  23. Thanks.
  24. Thanks Steve. I don't think I'm farther along as much as I'm just working on different parts of the car than you are. I haven't even touched the interior , engine or chassis yet.
