That's a Zowee "Covered Draggin" They were smaller than regular Hot Wheels ,, about 1/2 the size and very simple construction, usually just a metal main chassis with wheels and a plastic detail part or two. Here's a link to some info. https://www.hobbydb.com/marketplaces/hobbydb/subjects/zowees-series

1953 Ford F100 Hot Rod
Can-Con replied to Dennis Lacy's topic in Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
beautiful! -
Cool. I have a spot for those cars. BTW, IF you haven't painted the hood yet you might want to correct it. It should have a crease up the center . Also the vents are all off slightly , like the hood's twisted. When I did the "mini me" of my car, I had to sand some and add some material to to both sides of the hood to center it properly.

It's a cowl scoop, air comes in from the high pressure area at the base of the windshield. Opening the front makes no difference on the real thing and may in fact defeat the effect. But thanks for the comments.

That's pretty cool Curtis. Looks nice and clean, an easy resto. That passenger side headlight looks like it came from a '64/'65 Thunderbird. IIRC, they both should be like the driver's side one.

Anyway ,, The rest of the text that should have been above the pic was,,, go to your pic, right klik on it and klik on "copy image" from the menu that appears. come back here where you type your post,, right klik, , , klik on "paste" from that menu and there you are.

Yea, I've grown up with Buicks and have owned quite a few, including a couple Rivieras and haven't seen any in grey personally either. But, all the advertising from '64 when they were introduced and in the '65 brochure show them in grey. I'm not telling you how to build your car, just throwing out some information. Do with it as you like.

Like Casey says, the "Formula Five" wheels in the '64 Buick are actually the Buick rallye wheels. New for that year. This is the only time I've ever heard them referred to as that. The proper Buick term for them is "styled steel road wheel".
-
That's really looking great. I'm not sure if you're going totally factory stock with the chrome rallye wheels but if you do, in '65 the detail paint on the wheels was grey, not black like almost everyone thinks. It looks like it was only that year and was indeed black from '66 on.

EDIT: Missing Link Resin STILL IN BUSINESS!!!
Can-Con replied to Dys's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
That website hasn't been kept up in years, basically abandoned. Their e-bay store is active -
The windshield from a '50s car might have the right curve to it on the ends. If you can find one with the right curve you could cut the lenses from it and paint them with clear red paint.

I remember when 2L plastic bottles come out here in Canada back around '77 or so. If you dropped it the right way it would explode !

Can you use BMF over flat paint?
Can-Con replied to Hotrod 97's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
No, it's not the same. regular white glue dries hard, this stuff stays tacky, a bit gummy when dry. -

Get some foil adhesive and brush it on where you want to put your foil. It will keep it stuck down on the flat paint. Also good under that ultra chrome foil that has a reputation for not sticking. This is what I use. -
"Vic's Resin" has one now but the bumpers aren't plated. I got this one years ago at an NNL East. I think it's the same one Vic sells now. I used the AMT '70 chassis and added the hidden headlights.

Here's one for you Dan. Back in the late summer of '96 or '97 I was riding home from work with a couple other guys and seen something very similar to the pic below. For some reason, I didn't bother saying anything to the other guys, just watched it for a few minuets out the truck window until it disappeared. A couple years later I ran into Stanton Friedman and told him the story. He didn't seem too interested at all. LOL

Yea, I've been having a pretty lucky Fall so far. Between these and the '64 I got from you, I'll have no shortage of interesting cars to work on this winter. ? BTW, I already have the bumpers from the '64 and the two '65s I got this week stripped and nearly ready for replating. Just have to drill out the molded in headlights and they're ready to send out.

Picked these up at the Moncton N'B' club's swap meet last weekend. It's the only swap meet of it's kind in my area and I feel pretty lucky to snag these. The '65 Olds and Chrysler were high on my "wants" list. Complete and in good shape. The '68 Chrysler and the Impala are also nice catches.

Yes, Modelhaus ,,but,, Yea, I guess so. The person who posted the pic, it was of the T-bird and 2 other kits, said Don will only be selling 30 or 50 of each kit. I can't remember which it was now.
