  1. I've been using Tamiya acrylics for almost 30 years. I just use good old rubbing alcohol for cleanup and thinning.
  2. Those Apache wheels were also in a couple more kits too. The AMT '67 and '68 Camaro and the '71 and '72 Monte Carlo annuals and something else too that I can't think of right now .
  3. Not on mine. BTW, I was looking at the brochures for the '73 and '74 and I don't see any difference by just looking at them. In the brochures, they both have Challenger script on the grilles.
  4. Just checked my '74 annual. It also has 360 Four Barrel on the sides of the scoop at the back . It also has DODGE on the front of the hood. Challenger script at the back of both 1/4 panels and DODGE again between the tail lights. Nothing on the grille. It also has 1974 on both bumpers.
  5. I was thinking more along the lines of it was the person who wrote the article who goofed, they call it steampunk in the header.
  6. "Steampunk" is based on the idea that everything is steam powered. Usually with a Victorian era setting. "Dieselpunk" is similar but with diesel power instead of steam. The settings of those storys usually resemble WW1 era.
  7. It ain't steampunk though, it's dieselpunk. Maybe the reviewer can't tell the difference.
  8. OK, so ,, Got the '67 Pontiac done. Time to get back to work on this puppy. Ya know, I've never been really happy with the paint on this car. It seems to be missing something, even after I foiled the trim and put the windows in. I really think it needs a bit more paint.
  9. I knew I wanted to use those wheels on the car even before I had a color picked. I really like them but they sure are hard to get.
  10. Rebuilt glue bomb. Shaved trim and emblems as they were mostly sanded off by a previous builder. Modelhaus front bumper and tail lights. Headlights drilled out and replaces with a set of my resin ones. Scale finishes aqua with pearl nail polish mid-coat and Testors clear lacquer. Wheels and tires from AMT "resto rods" '66 Galaxie. Kit engine with heads, intake and carb from MPC '79 Trans Am. Air cleaner from JoHan '63 Caddy with air horn from an old injector tube. And a big Thank You to Steve Guthmiller for supplying a replacement tail light after I lost one after the first flood.
  11. Very tasteful.
  12. Love it. Very sharp design.
  13. He hasn't had anything listed there since last December, IIRC. I has wondering what's been going on with him too. His wagons seemed to be selling really well.
  14. Sorry, no pics quite yet but this one is almost done. What an ordeal getting here. Over a year and a 1/2 and 2 major floods ! I should have pics in a couple days.
  15. Actually, all versions of the Revell '32s have 2 sets of headlights. One set of regular '32 headlights and a smaller set similar to King Bee headlights. Also, if you're lucky enough to get a hold of one of the Revell Model-A hotrods, they actually have 3 sets of headlights, all different sizes.
  16. Yes, it does. I was just looking at mine a few days ago.
  17. Modelhaus tires sells some steel wheels also.
  18. Actually, another quite well known human passed away last week. Ufologist and nuclear physicist Stanton Friedman passed away last week. He was the first civilian person to investigate the Roswell incident and probably the best known UFO investigator. He was a Fredericton resident. I did meet him once back in the mid '90s, we has friends from UNB in common.
  19. Actually Dave, that will be 1: 00 PM my time. Atlantic Time Zone. I'll be at our local show at the time so good choice of the day.
  20. Yes, yes. Very nice. Looks like something I would build, actually. And, you're correct about the engine. It is an Olds. You can tell easiest by the distributor being on the back. The Caddy engine is almost a clone of a big block Ford. , , , and BTW, if anyone has one of those custom grilles from this kit to spare OR the grille/bumper from a '67 or '68, I could use one.
  21. Rick, this list is several years old. A lot of those kits haven't been available in years. I see Steve does still have the stock '70 300 listed though.
  22. Mine's an R+R but they're copies of the old AAM kits from the late '80s or early '90s. The AAM originally had separate hood and trunk lid so Art could release stock and Hurst versions. I don't think he ever did offer the Hurst one though. I don't know who's doing that version now. R+R went down a few years ago when the owner passed on, all the ones still for sale are old stock so get them while you can. And remember, contact Steve at Star before trying to purchase, it may already be out of stock but he may not have gotten around to deleting it from the website yet.
