  1. I'm looking at mine right now. Very close but not a match. AMT GM A-body definitely, '65 Chevelle or Olds Cutlass maybe? Nothing I have anyway.
  2. Yup. '62 '63 and '64 Impala, '65 Chevelle and '66 ElCamino have the Chevrolet block letters in the right style script for the hood. This is the '65 Chevelle set.
  3. Wasn't arguing with you Richard, just saying. It's like most people calling Beaumonts Pontiacs because they were sold at Pontiac dealers. GM of Canada never referred to them as Pontiacs but everyone calls them Pontiacs.
  4. We've always called them "Mercury Monarchs" around here Richard. Using both names. Maybe it's an east coast thing. We always referred to my fathers '67 as a "Mercury Rideau" [ that's pronounced "Re-d'ho" with the emphasis on the Re for our non-Canadian friends]
  5. Thanks Richard. They're decals.
  6. You might , , , but then again,,,, In the interest of full disclosure, this did have a quick once over with Tamiya polishing compound, as I do with all my models.
  7. Seeing that depression in the middle of the hood and the short creases just behind the headlights, I'd say '50-'52 Pontiac hardtop. Kinda hard to nail down the year exactly from that one pic.
  8. I've been using Tamiya acrylics for almost 30 years. I just use good old rubbing alcohol for cleanup and thinning.
  9. Those Apache wheels were also in a couple more kits too. The AMT '67 and '68 Camaro and the '71 and '72 Monte Carlo annuals and something else too that I can't think of right now .
  10. Not on mine. BTW, I was looking at the brochures for the '73 and '74 and I don't see any difference by just looking at them. In the brochures, they both have Challenger script on the grilles.
  11. Just checked my '74 annual. It also has 360 Four Barrel on the sides of the scoop at the back . It also has DODGE on the front of the hood. Challenger script at the back of both 1/4 panels and DODGE again between the tail lights. Nothing on the grille. It also has 1974 on both bumpers.
  12. I was thinking more along the lines of it was the person who wrote the article who goofed, they call it steampunk in the header.
  13. "Steampunk" is based on the idea that everything is steam powered. Usually with a Victorian era setting. "Dieselpunk" is similar but with diesel power instead of steam. The settings of those storys usually resemble WW1 era.
  14. It ain't steampunk though, it's dieselpunk. Maybe the reviewer can't tell the difference.
  15. OK, so ,, Got the '67 Pontiac done. Time to get back to work on this puppy. Ya know, I've never been really happy with the paint on this car. It seems to be missing something, even after I foiled the trim and put the windows in. I really think it needs a bit more paint.
  16. I knew I wanted to use those wheels on the car even before I had a color picked. I really like them but they sure are hard to get.
  17. Rebuilt glue bomb. Shaved trim and emblems as they were mostly sanded off by a previous builder. Modelhaus front bumper and tail lights. Headlights drilled out and replaces with a set of my resin ones. Scale finishes aqua with pearl nail polish mid-coat and Testors clear lacquer. Wheels and tires from AMT "resto rods" '66 Galaxie. Kit engine with heads, intake and carb from MPC '79 Trans Am. Air cleaner from JoHan '63 Caddy with air horn from an old injector tube. And a big Thank You to Steve Guthmiller for supplying a replacement tail light after I lost one after the first flood.
  18. Very tasteful.
  19. Love it. Very sharp design.
  20. He hasn't had anything listed there since last December, IIRC. I has wondering what's been going on with him too. His wagons seemed to be selling really well.
  21. Sorry, no pics quite yet but this one is almost done. What an ordeal getting here. Over a year and a 1/2 and 2 major floods ! I should have pics in a couple days.
