Those are actually hood ornaments.

Any tariffs imposed by Canada would have nothing to do with you Al. That's NOT how tariffs work in spite of what some people believe. 🙄

Excellent. I'm very much looking forward to dropping a few of those down low over some 20s in the near future. 😁 -

Erik, quick question on another subject, If I may, I'm wondering about the status of the '67/'68 Chevy pickups? I hope all this wackyness that's going on hasn't killed the project. I'm very much looking forward to these. -

MPC Super Charger - 1974 Charger rundown
Can-Con replied to CapSat 6's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
No doubt you guys are correct, I wasn't there after all but the engineering of the RR also looks very similar to a lot of the MPC kits from the late '70s/early '80s such as the Pintos and Mustang IIs and front drive Mopars. The wheel mounting style has MPC written all over it, In fact, I've found that a lot of the wheel retainers and wheel backs from those kits will interchange with the RR parts. Nothing like the snap-on style of the Nova kit and '67 Chevelle released shortly after the Nova. That's why I've been suspecting the RR was in the works before the buyout. But again, You guys would know better then I would with your histories in the hobby. -
Nope, he never did any.

MPC Super Charger - 1974 Charger rundown
Can-Con replied to CapSat 6's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
That '68 RR was first released sometime in '89. It's not one of that generation of '90s kits. I kinda suspect it ,along with the '69 Olds 442, were the last kits developed by MPC before the Ertl buyout. -
MPC Super Charger - 1974 Charger rundown

Don't know what's up with the upholstery patterns on your pic of the '74 annual but it's not like mine. Note the seam down the center with one button at the top and one in the middle and the head rest area looks more prominent. This doesn't seem to match any Charger sew patterns I can find, maybe someone with more knowledge about them then I do may have more info. Looks like that one was modified somehow. Mine is shown in bare plastic with the only paint being the brown on the door panels and console. -

Local shop here in Fredericton had the F-250 4X4 for 53.75 and the new '65 Novas for 46.25. The '72 Ford wrecker was 59 even. Most of his Revell car kits are around 40 and Round 2 around 50. You may be getting ripped off. -
Just gonna go curbside.

Here are some pics of a truck I did back in 2008. Thought some might be interested in seeing them again or maybe for the first time. 😉 AMT/MPC '84 4X4 kit dropped using a modified front suspension from an AMT Chevy van kit.

Tamiya Spray Ban in Canada Update
Can-Con replied to bytownshaker's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Asked my LHS owner a couple weeks ago and no news so far. He's gone to the point of replacing the Tamiya line with the Mr. Color line of sprays. Haven't tried any yet though. -
Beautiful car and the photography is excellent too.

Little Motor Kar Company did them but he retired last year. I see Spotlight Hobbies does replating now but I've never used them yet and haven't seen any posts from anyone who has so even though I do have confidence in them I can't honestly comment on their service.

Loved that show. Planned to do that car with my SuperCharger kit.

With all the talk about the "Super Charger" and related issues of the kit I think it's time I finish this resto up. Plans are to simply make a good looking curbside build with the hood shut. Got it from a vendor at NNL East in 2007. Mostly intact but I had to find a correct '74 front bumper as the one on it was an earlier one molded in purple so it must have been from the funnycar kit. Not sure the front seats are the correct ones but I do have another set that match the back seat pleats. Gonna be white with black. The body was in really good shape and all the scripts were intact. Even still has some flash on it. 😁 The '74 bumpers with the correct bumper guards. Decided to go with the halo vinyl roof. Simple piece of stretched sprue across the top and I did the seams by laying down masking tape where they go and smearing a little putty against the edge, finishing it off with a little sanding. Leaves a nice more "in scale" seam. Dark green metallic paint. I think it was something from HOK but it was over 16 years ago so??? Love the color, wish I knew what it was. 😟 Last pics for now. Bumpers/grille have been replated and have been detail painted since these pics were taken. The emblems were foiled before paint and will stand out more after final polishing. Roof is simply semi-gloss white.
