  1. Thanks Craig. The original annual AMT '69 Camaros had them too. I think this pair will eventually find their way to the back axle of a '40 Willys.

  4. Being Canadian, that's not a "guilty pleasure", it's more "background noise". Now, don't get me wrong, I do like Loverboy but if you live somewhere in Canada where you can get a few rock stations, you can hear one of their songs pretty well any time you like on the radio. Loverboy, Glass Tiger, Triumph, April Wine, BTO, The Guess Who, Steppenwolf [yes, the band's Canadian] Thanks to Canadian content rules you can't get away from them. That said, my fave Loverboy tune is "Love'n Every Minuit Of It"

  7. Why did you cut the chassis, Dennis? The '64 and '65 Chevelles ride on the same chassis, mostly the same body too for that matter. Are you tubbing it? ?
  8. Buddy does realize 46% is not "double", right? Ah well, my local shop has never carried Testors anyway.
  9. Got this in a trade a couple months ago in a trade with another member here [Thanks again Mike] Not exactly pristine but for me, the rareity of the kit warrants the work I'll be putting into it. The rear wheel openings were gouged out, quite crudely at that. So I cut some repair panels from an MPC '69. I beveled the edges of the patch and the cut opening to increase the glueing surface and make a stronger joint. , , , and here it is with the repairs in place, the front pan cut from the chassis and glued in place to stiffen the body and the MPC hood sitting in the opening. The MPC '69 hood is almost a perfect fit on the AMT '70 body. I just need to sand the sides a hair for paint buildup. Right now it's a very snug fit.

  11. I would too but I'm going to wait and see what the new kit has with it. I suspect a lot of that will be included on the new decals. BTW, those are now available in blue for the real trucks.
  12. Still have mine. I keep threatening to rebuild it but never got around to it. Even went as far as getting a set of original decals off e-bay. Might just leave it alone now and pick up a new one.
  13. I kinda liked those decals, always thought they were an option originally offered on those trucks but I can't find any reference to them so I guess it's just something AMT dreamed up. Hopefully the new issue will have actual factory style decals in it.
  14. I can't think of any reason it wouldn't. Both sets of wheels were also in the original release.

  19. I'll start off with a link to the build thread for the car. That should answer most of the questions. So, Here's the finished car.

  21. Curtis, if you have enough of the gold left, just cover the decals and airbrush just enough gold over the bad spots to cover them and clearcoat it again. I've had to do this a few tiles and it can work well.
  22. I remember reading all the threads back then on the subject. IIRC, it was agreed the old engine was as much over scale as the new one was under. The engine should actually be somewhere in size about halfway between the two. Most people want to compare the Dodge hemi engine to the Chrysler and DeSoto but don't take into account that the Dodge was a smaller engine, not only in cubic inches but also exterior dimensions.
