  1. Pretty well Curtis. Probably just a wheel and tire swap ,,, might even use a set of pickup rallye wheels. I've seen them used on full size Chevys of this generation. Probably do it curbside but I might get ambitious and fill out under the hood.
  2. That's actually a photoshopped pic from the '72 Nova brochure. http://www.oldcarbrochures.com/static/NA/Chevrolet/1972_Chevrolet/1972 Chevrolet Nova/image5.html
  3. I know this has been a sore point with people so I thought I'd give it a go. I simply glued the pieces together with regular thin crazy glue and sanded the tread flush after it hardened. Not perfect as you loose most of the tread but I think it looks fine for my van. The wheels are from the parts box ,,, IIRC, they're the custom ones in the current AMT '65 GTO kit. Perfect for a '70s street van.
  4. No worries Snake. It's not a competition, just having fun. 😉
  5. I'm blaming RDean58 for this car. When I got this car a couple years ago I wasn't sure what direction I wanted to go with it. I wasn't too bad but I thought it deserved better. I was thinking a simple repaint in the same color but after seeing Bobs gorgeous one in Tamiya metallic red, I had to have that look too. So after stripping, I had some work to do to get it ready for new paint. There was some glue damage to repair. It was easier to sand off all the damaged trim, do repairs and add new trim from sheet and strip plastic. and now here it is in it's new Tamiya metallic red finish, all the trim done and the glass installed. Most of the scripts will be added back on from the MCG photoetch set for the '76 Caprice, which also has the correct Impala secipts.
  6. It's all buffed out and the window trim is done.Time to move on to the interior and chassis now.
  7. Ya know, that '79/'80 instrument panel looks a lot like one from a VW Rabbit. 😉 I bet it wouldn't be too hard to do a bit of the old "cut & paste" if you had a Rabbit dash.
  8. Nice job on the conversion. Especially the correct roof boot cover. Most people would not have got the correct shape on that. Any reason you left the top corners of the windshield squared off? Not trying to be "that guy" but I'm just curious as the rest of the car is so clean and correct.
  9. No, looks like only SUVs in Canada to. I guess I'll not be buying a new Buick as I can't stand modern SUVs.
  10. Rick, if your not adverse to resin, Vic's resin does one at just needs a chassis, engine and glass to complete for about 60 bucks.
  11. You can also find the instructions here Mike. I don't see the latest versions of the kits but they haven't changed much over the years. https://public.fotki.com/drasticplasticsmcc/mkiba-build-under-c/amt-instructions/automotive-cars--pi/ford/1931-1940/
  12. I'd suggest a pair of jewelers pliers. You should be able to find a pair at Michaels or other craft stores for under 10 bucks.
  13. I read that a few years ago a bunch of people got sick from food poisoning at a banquet. It was at a conference for food safety ,,, THAT"S ironic. 😉 https://www.eater.com/2014/9/25/6844271/food-poisoning-at-food-safety-conference
  14. You mean it's unfortunate? 'Cause the only thing "ironic" in that song is she has no idea what the word actually means. 🙄
  15. Actually, both the Sunbeam and Mustang kit have been reissued in 2016 shouldn't be that hard to find.
  16. Could be the old Lindberg kit? IIRC, it was 1/20 scale. I've never seen one before aside from pics in the catalogue. BTW, Revell has a kit of the same car but with a regular V8 engine it was updated with in 1/25. This is the Wiki page on the real cars https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chevrolet_Aerovette
  17. There's also a really nice set in the AMT Sunbeam Tiger kit. A set in the MPC '73 Mustang kit too. Not quite as nice but easier to find.
  18. I really can't remember exactly what it is. This is what I remember though,, It's the original "Nash Bridges" issue. A lot of people were saying the color on the cars was "Bahama Yellow". So I had a touch-up bottle mixed at a local auto paint shop. Nope. Way off. This was back in the early days of the internet so good info wasn't as easy to find but I did find an article on the cars that said they were supposed to be that color but it didn't look good for the camera and they had them all repainted with a color from the commercial color chart. So, I found the chart and the only color on it that it could have been was Dodge commercial "School Bus Yellow" IIRC, That's what I had mixed for it. BUT, I understand Tamiya has a color called "Camel Yellow" that's pretty close.
  19. When I did mine, I just hogged out the headlight openings, glued in thin sheet plastic for the new, larger headlight trim and used larger lights. I think it came out OK although they are still a bit too far apart..

    The Alexa

Sweet replica. You pretty well nailed that one. 👍👍👍
  21. I'd like to do the same conversion but, boy, even junkers of those MPC Broncos are getting pricey. Maybe Round 2 will reissue the Bronco in the future. I don't think it's been modded into anything else.
