I can't see it not. All the other issues of this kit and the '79 had it.

What's wrong with the engine, John?

Great save Ken. Always nice to see something like that brought back to life instead of just being trashed.

That actually looks pretty good. The diagonal color separation reminds me of the MPC '68-'69 annual box art.

Full fendered AMT '29 Ford Roadster [Dec 30 update]
Can-Con replied to Can-Con's topic in WIP: Model Cars
It's Tamiya black spray TS-14 airbrushed on over Duplicolor charcoal grey primer. -
No offence taken Craig. I've been called wrong so many times when I know I'm right and had done my research before opening my mouth that's it's now just a "knee-jerk reaction" to show my reference material when I'm responding to the "challenge", as it were. ,,And of course, I am wrong sometimes too and I admit when I have made a mistake. ?

The OTHER Model A coupe-old school Monogram custom
Can-Con replied to pack rat's topic in Model Cars
Looks "period perfect". I'm sure Monogram would have done it exactly like that. -
California Sunshine show truck questions
Can-Con replied to Faust's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Just noticed it says on the box that it was designed by Harry Bradley, the guy who designed the original "Sweet 16" HotWheels. -
California Sunshine show truck questions
Can-Con replied to Faust's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
It probably isn't, Patrick. Remember, the flares, grille, etc. was sold as kits. The one on the box was probably one done up by the vendor for publicity, trade shows and the like same as a SEMA car or truck would be today. There were probably hundreds of those kits sold, maybe a few dozen actually ended up used on a vehicle. -
Full fendered AMT '29 Ford Roadster [Dec 30 update]
Can-Con replied to Can-Con's topic in WIP: Model Cars
Put some of the front suspension together today so I could see how the frame plays with the fender unit. The wheels and tires I;m using would sit way too wide for the fenders so I cut off the mounting bosses and drilled out the centers so they would fit snugly over the ends of the axle. I also found a pair of brake disks I did the same with, shown on the axle. Here's how it's sitting now on the front axel. Still needs to be a bit lower. I'll shave some off the tip of the spring and cut the trough in the crossmember a bit deeper. That should get it down to at least close to where I want it. Front tires are from the Revell '32 Roadster kit and the backs are the old AMT hollow Goodyears. The rear axle isn't under the car in these pics but it looks like it will have to be moved ahead a bit. I'll know better after I get the front dialed in. -

1990 Chevrolet C1500 Sportside
Can-Con replied to Chuck Most's topic in Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
That's a pretty sweet little truck there, Chuck. This style seems to be making a resurgence lately too. Almost as popular again as they were back in the '90s. -
Just,,wow!. ? beautiful paint and clean detail work. I might suggest though that you should finish off your glass with clearcoat and polishing in exactly the same manner you did the paint on the body. It would eliminate that pebbly look of the tinted glass.

Been planning this one out for a couple months after seeing a pic of the real '29 "Fat Jack" Robinson built for Chuck Hoffman. This won't be an exact replica of the car but more of an "inspired by" kinda build. I'll be using one of the frames from the new Revell "A" hotrod kits, adapting it to the AMT body and fenders. It'll be SBC powered, maybe the one from the Revell kit but I haven't decided yet. I'm thinking a dual quad on a tunnel ram manifold though. I was gonna go with the 6 carb setup from the AMT '23 roadster but I've misplaced those parts. Been looking for 2 days now and can't find them at all so it's on to plan B. But, it will be black with lots of chrome and Buick Skylark wheels from the Silhouette showcar kit. So far I've laid down an acceptable black paintjob on the body and fenders. It's Tamiya spray airbrushed on over Duplicolor charcoal grey primer. I'll polish it out some in a few days after it's had a chance to gas out for a while.

Started on the interior and engine. Interior bucket and dash are original to the kit , front seats are from the MPC '69. They look pretty close, just the number of pleats is off. I don't think most people will notice that though. The engine is also from the MPC kit and is the 428. ,, and I did drill the plug holes in the correct places. ?

I like 'em both but that green one just speaks to me. ?

No, if the new body is larger than the original, [longer] that means there's less room between it and the rad shell so the hood would have to be shortened. I always thought that Flintstone body was 1/25 too but I never had one to find out. I think it's gonna be cool though. The B-400 is my favorite '32 body style.

Per Steve Goldman's response to similar question on the first page. "That segment was recorded in a different location. Those items down below are part of Tom's personal collection, not a tease for something coming. -Steve"

See any wheel in this pic that looks familiar? Monogram '64 GTO rear wheels. The fronts aren't as deep.

I wonder how many times those fins broke off while they were trying to film the musical numbers? ??

No, he stopped a few years ago. Seems to be the only one left is Little Motor Kar Company.

1973' Chevrolet El Camino
Can-Con replied to Sergey's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
I'd try getting ahold of them Mike. Like I said, I don't know if they ever did any more. It was very popular so there might be a good chance that he is doing more.
