  1. Um, you guys do know this is the Revell kit from the '90s, not an original annual from '65, right?
  2. I'm not seeing the "double bubble" clear headlight fairings that were in the BFG car. I was hoping they would be in there. ?
  3. Thanks for the offer Russ. I do have all of those kits you mentioned but after a couple involved , hi-detailed build, I want to do this one more "old school", as it were. Concentrating more on the overall look of the car instead of super-detailing it. But, rest assured, when it's done, it'll still have all the detail you'd want under the hood and where ever else you cam see without picking it up. I might even do poseable front wheels on it. That said, I will take it into consideration. I have a stray Revell '59 with no body I might look at using. But, like I said earlier, I don't want to make this too complicated as it might draw out the build too long and I'll loose interest.
  4. I would but it kind of defeats the purpose of building a Canadian Pontiac, Chris. It should have a Chevy engine in it so It'll be getting the Impala kit's 409.
  5. I've wanted to do a mild custom '64 Pontiac for quite a while now. Last year I obtained a '64 Grand Prix from Steve G. but it was too nice to cut up. Last fall I was lucky enough to get a lot of 3 built G/Ps off e-bay so with my bench cleared off, it's time to start my mild custom '64 Parisienne. I picked this one to work on because the roof had glue damage so I didn't feel too bad about cutting it off. The new roof was cut from an AMT '64 Impala. This not only gave me the roof I need but the proper cowl and wipers for a Canadian Pontiac. The interior of the Grand Prix is the same as the one used on the Parisienne "Custom Sport" so no mods will be needed for that and I'll use the chassis and engine from the Impala kit. I'll swap out the inner fenders though as those cars should have rounded inner fenders and the AMT Impala fenders are too square.
  6. Not without some work. Bonnevilles were on a longer wheelbase than the lower level Pontiacs. I'm thinking the frame design changed in '65 anyway, but I may be wrong on that.
  7. Fits better if you cut the grille and bumper apart and attach them separately, but no, that new tool grille/bumper piece is pretty bad. If you can get ahold of one from an old MPC kit it fits much better. They're the ones with separate bumper and grille.

    No, it came with a copy of the cougar interior. I just cut the floor out of that and used the rest. There's a small gap on the sides and it took a bit of grinding but it went in. Had to put spacers under the front seats to raise them up a bit too.

    '67 Cougar

    Thanks everyone. The Cragar G/T wheels were included in some of the MPC '68-'69 Mopar kits. The Coronet Super Bee kits and possibly a couple others. I received a box of assorted parts from a friend years ago and there was enough of them to make one good set in it. I have a couple more but they're too glue bombed to use. The Cougar is on a 111 inch wheelbase and the Mustang is on a 108 inch wheelbase so I did have to stretch the chassis a bit along with the exhaust and made a new drive shaft.

    Modelhaus transkit with an AMT '67 Mustang used as a chassis and engine donor.
  14. Ya know ,,, it'd be pretty easy to just take one of those wheels, the one you like the look if best, and cut and sand down the rim until it's the depth you want and repaint it or just go over the exposed plastic on the rim with a molotow pen.
  15. I'm pretty sure they all have the same size holes. But I always use set 2061.
  16. Seems to me the Detail Master looms only work well with their own wire. Get some from Model Car Garage, the holes in those are big enough to work with 30 gage wrapping wire, which is what is most commonly used for plug wire in 1/25-1/25 scale.
  17. I've thought about it. One thing to consider,, what to do with the tulip panel between the trunk lid and back window? It raises up to meet the window with sharp creases at the sides. I think IF I was to do one, I'd do it with a hinged sheet metal panel between the trunk lid and rear seat like a '60s Thunderbird or Lincoln.

  19. The art in the logo looks like a brake rotor and caliper to me, with the caliper at the 12 O/clock position. Something similar to this but with a simpler, dark caliper at the top.
  20. I've had this for about 15 years and have been working on it a little at a time for years. This the Modelhaus "transkit" to be used with a donor. They also had a full kit which included the chassis and wheels/tires. Both were curbside. I cut the hood open and started grafting in the underhood area and stretching the chassis from an AMT '67 Mustang to fit the Cougar body. ,,Added a vinyl roof,, and painted it Ford "ivy green". The Mustang front suspension , strait from the box sits quite high and holds the wheels out too far so I slices the suspension arms partially from the frame so I could bend them up to make it sit a little lower, I also made it so the front wheels will be poseable. ,, And here's where it sits now. Still have to add a strip of foil to the window sills and run some semi-gloss black around all the window openings.
  21. I wonder if they did any maintenance to the molds.
