  1. That's incredible. I thought the first pic was a 1/1 for a second when I opened the thread. ???
  2. I would too but I'm going to wait and see what the new kit has with it. I suspect a lot of that will be included on the new decals. BTW, those are now available in blue for the real trucks.
  3. Still have mine. I keep threatening to rebuild it but never got around to it. Even went as far as getting a set of original decals off e-bay. Might just leave it alone now and pick up a new one.
  4. I kinda liked those decals, always thought they were an option originally offered on those trucks but I can't find any reference to them so I guess it's just something AMT dreamed up. Hopefully the new issue will have actual factory style decals in it.
  5. I can't think of any reason it wouldn't. Both sets of wheels were also in the original release.
  6. A couple of us have e-mailed him since his last visit and haven't received a reply. Not normal.
  7. No. It's a Canadian Pontiac which used the Chevy engine, cowl and chassis
  8. Thanks everyone. I'm glad you all like it. ?
  9. The car's now finished. Here's a link to the thread,,
  10. I'll start off with a link to the build thread for the car. That should answer most of the questions. So, Here's the finished car.
  11. To paraphrase Mellencamp "same ol' trouble we been hav'n for years" Kurt.
  12. Curtis, if you have enough of the gold left, just cover the decals and airbrush just enough gold over the bad spots to cover them and clearcoat it again. I've had to do this a few tiles and it can work well.
  13. I remember reading all the threads back then on the subject. IIRC, it was agreed the old engine was as much over scale as the new one was under. The engine should actually be somewhere in size about halfway between the two. Most people want to compare the Dodge hemi engine to the Chrysler and DeSoto but don't take into account that the Dodge was a smaller engine, not only in cubic inches but also exterior dimensions.
  14. I don't think you'll get an answer from MJ, Leif, he hasn't been on here in almost 6 years.
  15. Motor City Resin used to make a '70 Torino transkit with the body, hood and interior door panels. I just checked the website and it says they're "coming back soon" but who knows. http://www.motorcityresincasters.com/70torino.htm The grille could be made pretty easily from the GT grille. Just make 4 holes in the right place for the headlights, rim them with some thin sheet and add lenses.
  16. Both look fantastic
  17. The Parisienne Sport interior is almost identical to a Grand Prix, which this model is based on. The only real big difference is it should have an Impala console but seeing as this is a custom, I didn't bother changing them since almost no one would know the difference anyway.
  18. I'm not sure they ever did have correct grille inserts Patrick. I just checked my annual built-up and it has the same custom grille bars cast into the bunper/grille unit as all the reissues I've seen. I also checked the instruction sheet and it doesn't show any either. Looking at the promos though, they have seprate inserts with verticle bars, not %100 correct either but better. I cast a set of inserts from a Revell kit for mine but they're a bit small. About 1/16" too narrow on each side. Looking good Gareth. Makes me want to drag out my '69 annual and finish it up. ?
  19. Definitely BMFing it Paul. Been working on the Pontiac mostly but I did polish out the paint last weekend. It's flood season again so things might go sideways again but if the river stays put I should have the Pontiac finished [or close to it] this weekend then I'll finish up the T-bird.
  20. Thanks Sam but this one's going to be pretty simple. Just some candy paint and a set of wheels on the stock body. Some factory designs are so good that they don't need much more than that.
  21. That's Keith Marks. AFAIK, he is still printing decals. If you left a message on his Fotki site, I doubt you'll get an answer. His e-mail is mofobow@hotmail.com . You'll probably get a quicker answer if you make sure the word "decals" in in the header of the e-mail. and remember, this is a side thing for him so don't expect a reply right away. I've bought decals from him several times and they're always great.
  22. How about this livery for the Duster funnycar?
