I'll start off with a link to the build thread for the car. That should answer most of the questions. So, Here's the finished car.

Curtis, if you have enough of the gold left, just cover the decals and airbrush just enough gold over the bad spots to cover them and clearcoat it again. I've had to do this a few tiles and it can work well.

I remember reading all the threads back then on the subject. IIRC, it was agreed the old engine was as much over scale as the new one was under. The engine should actually be somewhere in size about halfway between the two. Most people want to compare the Dodge hemi engine to the Chrysler and DeSoto but don't take into account that the Dodge was a smaller engine, not only in cubic inches but also exterior dimensions.

1978 Ford F100

I don't think you'll get an answer from MJ, Leif, he hasn't been on here in almost 6 years. -

Motor City Resin used to make a '70 Torino transkit with the body, hood and interior door panels. I just checked the website and it says they're "coming back soon" but who knows. http://www.motorcityresincasters.com/70torino.htm The grille could be made pretty easily from the GT grille. Just make 4 holes in the right place for the headlights, rim them with some thin sheet and add lenses.

Both look fantastic

The Parisienne Sport interior is almost identical to a Grand Prix, which this model is based on. The only real big difference is it should have an Impala console but seeing as this is a custom, I didn't bother changing them since almost no one would know the difference anyway.

I'm not sure they ever did have correct grille inserts Patrick. I just checked my annual built-up and it has the same custom grille bars cast into the bunper/grille unit as all the reissues I've seen. I also checked the instruction sheet and it doesn't show any either. Looking at the promos though, they have seprate inserts with verticle bars, not %100 correct either but better. I cast a set of inserts from a Revell kit for mine but they're a bit small. About 1/16" too narrow on each side. Looking good Gareth. Makes me want to drag out my '69 annual and finish it up. ?

Definitely BMFing it Paul. Been working on the Pontiac mostly but I did polish out the paint last weekend. It's flood season again so things might go sideways again but if the river stays put I should have the Pontiac finished [or close to it] this weekend then I'll finish up the T-bird.

Thanks Sam but this one's going to be pretty simple. Just some candy paint and a set of wheels on the stock body. Some factory designs are so good that they don't need much more than that.

'77 Pontiac Firebird Smokey and the Bandit Decals
Can-Con replied to 70 Sting's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
That's Keith Marks. AFAIK, he is still printing decals. If you left a message on his Fotki site, I doubt you'll get an answer. His e-mail is mofobow@hotmail.com . You'll probably get a quicker answer if you make sure the word "decals" in in the header of the e-mail. and remember, this is a side thing for him so don't expect a reply right away. I've bought decals from him several times and they're always great. -
How about this livery for the Duster funnycar?

MPC 1980 Plymouth Volare Road Runner "Fuzz Buster"
Can-Con replied to THarrison351's topic in Model Cars
Pretty neat Tim. you don't often see these wild optional parts used on these kits, let alone one built at all. I have one in my stash but I haven't touched it yet. [although my last Volare Road Runner turned out pretty good ?] One thing though, you say the interior wasn't updated since the kit was first issued in '76. Not quite correct. The seats were updated and are more or less correct for a '78 or '79, but not an '80. I think you can see what the original '76/77 interior looked like on this pic of mine. Hi back seats with verticle pleats. ,,But, again, wonderful build of something you don't see very often. Kudos. ??? -
The last reissues of the MPC Dodge vans have a set of those wheels. 5 bolt and a bit deeper though. You could drill out the centers and replace them with 4 bolt centers from another wheel. Still a bit deep for a Celica but ???

1/25 AMT 1966 Mustang GT -- Original Annual & Modified Reissue
Can-Con replied to Casey's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
I'd think that would depend entirely on the box art. Most people, especially in these modern times couldn't tell a '68 Coronet from a '69 Charger anyway. If the Coronet was orange and the Charger any other color, they'd say the Coronet was "the Dukes car", , IF they even know that that was.- 216 replies

Yes. No engine.

Look like they could be American Racing "Hurricane II" s but the number of spokes is wrong. BUT, here's a link to the Vintage Wheel Catalogue" site to look through. You might find something closer in there. https://vintagewheelcatalogs.com/

Thanks Rex. What I meant to say was the one I had, did have all the wiring , light bulbs, etc in the kit. Seems to me you had to wind the wire and assemble the electric motor that went inside the engine block. It did definitly include all the electronics in the kit though.

How do they look with the rest of the wheel Ray? Very odd design but it does make it easier to do the detail painting I guess. I had a version of this kit when I was way too young to build it. It was the version that included the electric motor, lights and all the wiring. Anyone know which one that was?
