I have to agree. What do I care what folks do after I'm dead. For me, the biggest and saddest extinction of a pastime, was the closing down of Drive-In movies. Not there aren't a few left in America, but mostly gone for sure.

Wheel Arch Molding Foiling Tutorial
Roadrunner replied to StevenGuthmiller's topic in Tips, Tricks, and Tutorials
Awesome tutorial, Steve. Thanks for posting it. My traditional way of dealing with foiling, rather embarrassingly, has just been to avoid it altogether. -
Interesting project indeed. A little early for my taste, but still fascinating.

Old contest pics?
Roadrunner replied to Rbray47's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I recall annual model car contests that were held at a local Kresge store many, many years ago (late 60's or early 70's). How I'd love to find some photos of those old shows, but I feel the chances are one in a million. Back then, Kresge, Famous Barr, JC Penny and Sears all sold model car kits; I was in heaven. -
Digging through my AMT '65 Grand Prix, looking for tires that might work for the wheels that came with the '29, I picked some that at least initially looked great and fit like a glove. Two problems though, the whitewall side that I think I'd have preferred, has the whitewalls printed asymmetrically, making this side utterly worthless. (This is common with every single tire in this kit, though some are somewhat slightly better than others, but still all very Three Stooges like.) The second problem, and perhaps the worst of the two, is that the blackwall side, is larger in diameter than the whitewall side, making all of the tires that came with the GP, utterly and completely useless. Looks like I'll keep digging for more tires.

My first custom paint job
Roadrunner replied to SCRWDRVR's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Nothing wrong with individual taste, nothing at all. I grew up where flames were all the rage, and if I ever do a street rod that reflects that era, I'll probably add flames too. -

True enough. I've never been a big fan of flames anyway, but this silver and blue mix looks just great. -

Indeed. That blue is killer. I already added a can to my Amazon list(s). -

That makes perfect sense. There's also what looks like a tape deck (reel to reel) included in the kit, along with some nice safety cones that I highly approve of. All part of the same testing stuff, I imagine. Thanks a bunch. You should have seen me sitting here scratching my head last night. -

OK, now that makes sense. Odd that there's no mention of that in the instructions, nor anywhere on the box. Thanks for the info, I appreciate it. -
AMT '65 Grand Prix, odd parts

After owning this particular kit for quite a while now, but just opening it last night (looking for good tires for a '29 Ford pickup I'm currently working on), I noticed a huge rubber tire and correspondingly huge chrome wheel to use with it. Any idea at all what that's all about? -

Excellent. Thanks. -

I like it. The plotters can be an especially handy tool, no doubt about it. Two questions; what blue did you use (I like it a lot), and what kind of car is it? '37 something, perhaps? -
Ollie’s paint score!!!

Nice. No Ollie's anywhere near me, unfortunately. -

OK. Thanks, Mark. Looks like some kit bashing might be required then. -
Looking just excellent.

One question regarding this newest release; does the rumble seat open up?
