Yep, Testors one coat. The can was very low, so much easier to shake and mix, and that may very well be the reason for the overall flakiness. Thanks.
-
Here's my '70 Challenger, painted with the exact same color (same can of paint, in fact), and it's nowhere near as sparkly as this one looks.
-
This certainly didn't turn out as nice as I'd hoped, but I can live with it. The metallic paint looks much more "flaky" on this one, than previous attempts, and I have no idea why.
-
I don't really see anything wrong there. What are you referring to? On the box cover, there's a blue and white 'Cuda, and it's those wheels that I'm referring to. I probably really shouldn't complain at all, as I may eventually find a use for them, I was just in a really weird mood when I first saw them and typed that comment.
-
You mean flared out too much? I think you're right, but never noticed it until now, so thanks for that. Since this is more or less a straight up OOB effort, I may or may not address this particular issue, but I'll certainly give it some thought. Now that I'm aware of it, it'll probably bother me not to try and fix it, but I won't guarantee that I will. The main thing, is to actually finish something. I've been a member here for almost three years, and haven't completed one single car yet!

Oh yes, primer now on. Not perfect (but mine never are), so once I perform a couple of small touch-ups, it's time for some color! (I have no idea why Revell insists on putting these god awful ugly wheels in with their kits, as custom options. I've debated throwing them all in the garbage, but I just know that if I did that, I'd inevitably regret it. The included globs for tires are generally horrible too.)

Real nice work here; I like it.

Nice!

I really need to try that color; it looks great.

I like what I see so far.

Slight change in plans here, as I'll now be going with Icy Blue, instead of the SS Blue, as this lighter blue, will allow the "hockey stick" decal to show up better. I'm also still trying to determine if I prefer rallye wheels, or the other wheel that's typically seen.

I had the Colt Python and P-08, and loved them both. I really wanted an old cowboy six shooter, but never got around to grabbing one. They also did grenades and rifles in the series.

I'd love to have one of those S&W model 29 revolvers. I am truly, truly envious.

What did you see on the road today?
Roadrunner replied to Harry P.'s topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
It's not his daily driver, that's for sure. He drives some big 'ol generic pick-up truck for that. -
Started this yesterday, for an attempt at a curbside entry for a show here in October, and an earlier show in September (if I can finish it in time). Certainly nothing fancy, just a straight up Testors Star Spangled Blue finish, and some AMT tires.

Not mine, but the contractor that’s overseeing a complete bathroom renovation here, showed up today driving this, a pretty nice ’68 Impala convertible. -
It's good to hear that somebody stepped up for the site, Gregg.

There was a very clean 1971 Chevy Caprice in front of us yesterday, very nice indeed, dark green and looked immaculate. No photos though, as I never seem to have a camera with me. -
What non-auto model did you get today?

I have a forum acquaintance (different forum), that is an absolute Tigercat fanatic. He'll be reviewing the new 1:32 Tigercat for us, hopefully before the end of the year. -

Very odd, but despite the fact that I just love the Mosquito, the Hornet leaves me cold. -
Moderators - Who are they?
Roadrunner replied to Daddyfink's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Apparently so, which is probably too few, but they seem to do a pretty good job of it, despite the heavy traffic here. -

No Ollie's around here, but thanks anyway. -

Wow, real nice. I haven't seen this kit in years. -
Looks really, really nice.
