68-69 revell dodge charger
Roadrunner replied to WoodyRDC's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I didn't realize the interiors were different too (I don't have a '69,... yet), so thanks for that information. -
I'm certainly considering one of these myself. It's supposed to be a great kit from what I hear.

68-69 revell dodge charger

The real cars are different enough from each other (front and rear end, mostly), that the two models are correspondingly different. How accurate either one is, I really can't say. -
What Did You Get Today? (Not Model Related)

I agree, very nice indeed. -
1965 Plymouth Fury. Update, 7/27, WHEW!
Roadrunner replied to StevenGuthmiller's topic in WIP: Model Cars
I think if the color goes with the car, irrespective of being an original color or not, I'm OK with it, but that's just my view. I've come to realize that I'm not a "serious" car modeler, just doing it for fun, so whatever I choose that makes me happy, is what I'll end up doing. There is no question that there are some really great hardcore auto modelers here, but I suspect I'll never be one of them. -
Wow, what an eye catching machine. Looks real good.

Looks just fine to me.

Also, my new BMF arrived today,... it's the same "new improved" version that I already had.
-
Center console now finished, painting that is; still need to add lights and rear trim.
-
I have figured out at least one thing; when I begin to see the body color on the buffing rag, I stop buffing, as I've at that point obviously cut through the clear coat in that area. I'm learning, fellas, slow but sure.
-
As with most here, the first thing I spotted was the wire gizmo holding up the tire. I'd certainly like to know more about that.
-
Thanks, Randy. From what I understand, my new sheet of BMF should be here tomorrow, so perhaps I can start finally adding the trim to the body.

Paint looks real good. I've just got to do a black car one of these days.

I like that engine color. -
I've yet to strip a model to my satisfaction, but I suppose it's inevitable, at least for me. I thought your paint looked fine.

I had a "freak out" moment yesterday; went to play with the body some more (I keep it in a place that's well away from any potential harm), and saw what appeared to be a large gouge on the right rear roof. I started polishing it, hoping it wasn't damaged too much to be saved, and it turned out to be nothing more than some dried polishing paste! I was so relieved to see that it wasn't actually damaged.

Cool. I still have not went out and got a chamois, but intend to do so. I find that an old cotton T-shirt still works pretty good and I have a brand new package of cheesecloth I want to try out as well.

Looks good so far. -
Thanks a bunch, i truly appreciate it. (As I began to read "shine on you crazy"..., I started thinking... Pink Floyd. Interesting idea, I may give that a try. Thanks.

OK, here's the interior now rough assembled (and I do mean rough). Carpet was originally black, but I decided a dark brown would be better, so I repainted it. There are two nasty ejector pin marks on the rear floor that are very visible, so I'll cut some "floor mats" to cover those (I really should have addressed that much earlier). Center console has not yet been given a wash here. If I've learned anything here (and I believe I have), it's to give all interior components the wash at the same time, allowing for some conformity of color that I really don't have here. Obviously, some more work needs to be done.
