They were not re-rolled but a "drop snoot" was created. The flange where the spot welds were was lowered to help direct air. Clearly seen on this photo.

Made a trade with mk11 and had zero issues.

The front bumpers are different also. The Talladega uses a narrowed rear bumper on the front.

I started this quite a while ago and it became quite a project. I de-radiused the wheel wells, removed the vent window frame from the a-pillar, and I trimmed out the parking lights from the front bumper. The grill was painted with a light coat of argent silver to mimick the anodized aluminum grill. The chassis is AMT Thunderbird, actually two of them because I had to length in it. The interior consists of modified pieces from the Thunderbird. The engine came from the Thunderbird also with an air cleaner from the Johan '72 Torino stocker. My big dillema was paint, after looking at a lot of stock car pics I noticed there were not many green cars, so the green went on and I added the gold because I liked the looks of the Holman and Moody 68 Torino's. Big thank you to Techman for the replacement quarter panel decal I messed up After it sits a few days I'll wipe off all the water spots and fingerprints and plug the coil wire back in!!!

Looking good. Nice kit, Chassis does look good with the contrast. Personally I wish it gave more options but hey, that's what spare parts are for.

Anybody build this kit stock and have the dropped axle and shocks left over? I need one for another 37 that did not come with a dropped axle. Thanks

If you run into this again, wet sand with 1000, 2000, 4000, 6000 then polish. I had good luck doing that on my '59 hardtop

Just bend a custom exhaust, who cares if it goes under the fuel tank instead of around. I was looking at your engine install, rather than messing with the radiator support, why not remove the pan (yes, I know it is molded in) and use a dual sump pan to move the engine back?

This is looking good! My vote is the 17" wheels also. I ran into the same issue with losing detail when doing repairs and priming. I now mask over any details when I prime. The hardtop cars had the Thunderbird emblem on the C pillar like the kit does (or did) The vinyl top Landau's had Landau bars found in the '66 Tbird kits. Not that you need them just giving some info. As an FYI, the '65 and '66 Galaxie chassis is a good swap but needs a little stretch.

I may need to go there for some "Angel Hair" for the package shelf of my '49 Merc.

Not being a big Camaro guy, normally I'd be a no on this, but with all the work R2 has been doing I'll be picking one or two up for support. I have the '67, '68 and 70 1/2 Camaro's, so why not the 81? LOL

Well, I am building a 49 Ford and wanted the bumper guards removed. After working on them and getting them to look good I used BMF on them. They looked good but not right. I bit the bullet and purchased some Revell Chrome. I considered the plating cost and how much I could get plated for $35 and decided to try it out. Well, I am very happy with the results and the can should go a long way. The bumper was primered with black primer and wet sanded with 3000 grit, cleaned with dawn and painted. Quick mist coats and when it was all smooth, stopped. Gonna let it set for quite awhile til I finish other projects. Here is one of the bumpers, other than a small area where I worked on it, it came out great IMO. You can even see my hands holding the camera about a foot away.
