  1. Built this in about 1992 and entered it in a contest in Vancouver, Canada. I actually got 1st place with it!!!! ha .. I've been pulling some old kits out of the boxes and decided to take a couple pics. I never even dusted it off - shame on me!
  2. Tony was a good friend and I spent many days/hrs with him hanging around the shop. I even did work for him periodically when cars needed to be finished. He was generous and always gave me his memorabilia. From clothing to eng parts to old orig paper work, he always had to hand me something. Tony was amazing with his stories too. Watching him work, you could see why he was an amazing craftsman! Tony gave me this kit when it first came out. I started on it and nearly finished it. Put it away and got on other things. Thought I would pull it out of the box and take a few pics of it. Just needs a little tinkering to finish it for the shelf now. Not as detailed as some of you guys on here but I'm ok with this one.
  3. I started this Willys Pickup in 1988. I was building ( starting ) several back in the day and when we moved, many went into boxes and stored for yrs. Many on the work bench now waiting for me to get back on them and finally try to do something. The decals are something I never had for this one though and I'm not sure how to do them. One day I can try and finish it for the shelf. With about a dozen on the bench, it's pick and choose which one I'm in the mood for! Bob Tietz ran this truck in 1977 and I fell in love with it ( I was about 17 yrs old then street/drag racing ). He was running 9.62s et and 138mph. Thought I would give it a go and this was as far as I got. I still have the magazine article when I bought it in '77. Real truck is a '40 but a '41 front end. Lots of dust on this one and soon it will go through a little cleaning..( I'll probably pull it apart, sand polish etc etc )
  4. What a great looking Gasser. Looking forward to seeing the cleanup & resto job!!

  13. Hello world ... I have been contemplating this car for a long time now. I wasn't sure if I should go ahead with this because I started with the Nova "Rat Packer" kit. That car is a '65 and the "Chevy 2 Much" Nova is a '63. The side panels behind the side rear windows just aren't right for me. I decided to start anyway and see what I thought once I got the paint and decals on it. Most everything else is sitting on the bench waiting for the next step. I'm at a stop ( not happy! ) Most of all, I wanted to make sure I got the wheels right on this one and the stance with the wheel wells cut out properly. Here's a photo of the "first generation car" and my start on it …( later the car had the front wheels moved farther forward ). I'm thinking of starting over and getting the '63 Nova Trumpeter kit and working the wheel wells. I'll have to add the sedan post too. Hmmm ….
  14. Holy Moly!!!!! Nice job ……everything looks right!

  20. Stunning!!!! Congratulations on a beautiful build ..
  21. What a great and beautiful build you did here!!!!! I worked on this car many time preparing it for the shows. It actually has real gold ground up and mixed in the paint - about 3oz's to be exact. It's a wonderful story and resurrection. Gary just called me a couple weeks ago to come over and prep it for a museum exhibit. I've been very fortunate to work on many great cars in my career and I'm excited to see some builds on this forum that builders are doing of some of these cars. Here's a couple other shots - me prepping it at a show for example, pic at Pebble Beach and misc ….. Enjoy
  22. I work on the actual Jack Warner car every month. I've been taking care of it for the last 11 years. If you need any detailed photos of the car, let me know and I can always shoot some pics when I'm there. Here we are when we took "1st in class" at Pebble Beach". I also work on the 540K Baron Von Krieger" car too. You can see both 540K's that I work on here > www.corbettclassics.com Looking forward to watching your progress ..
