  1. Very cool project!!! Looks great so far!! Are you using the K.F.S. Holmes recovery kit or is everything made from scratch? I would like to build a Holmes bed myself some day. Here's an incentive picture: IMG_2878 by Brian Smith, on Flickr
  2. This is one of my favorite builds of all time!! The subject matter! You can't go wrong with a cabover KW! The color combo, Spoke wheels, opening doors, single stack conversion, and the excellent weathering! Excellent Work! I'm glad you posted this!
  3. Thanks for the kind words!!! A little more progress. Most of the plumbing done (air, fuel, etc.), battery box made and installed IMG_6432 by Brian Smith, on Flickr IMG_6431 by Brian Smith, on Flickr IMG_6429 by Brian Smith, on Flickr IMG_6427 by Brian Smith, on Flickr IMG_6426 by Brian Smith, on Flickr IMG_6424 by Brian Smith, on Flickr IMG_6434 by Brian Smith, on Flickr IMG_6436 by Brian Smith, on Flickr
  4. You've captured the real thing again! Great Work!!!
  5. Looks amazing!!!
  6. It looks like you nailed it under the hood too, master cylinder and all! Looks great!! Jim there were a lot of them around here. I had the "privilege" to work on several of these, including a couple of engine jobs. I've never seen a diesel in one, but there may have been some diesel versions. The C50, 60 and even the 70, the F600, 700, and the Louisville 800 were in about the same class I think. Most of the ones around here had box vans or stake beds (some that dumped) on them, there were a few regular dumps, a few tankers and of course school buses and fire trucks. I never saw one as a tractor in person though I think I have seen some photos. I was given one of these one time, and all I had to do was pay to have it hauled home and I turned it down. It would run too. Live and learn.
  7. This build has been a pleasure to watch from the very beginning! I hope to purchase one of these cabs myself now that they are available. Excellent work!!! Is there any chance that we can see under the hood??
  8. Thanks!! A little more progress. I didn't like the tanks that came with the conversion, so here's my attempt at fabricating new ones. You can see here the resin tanks compared to the ones I made: IMG_6389 by Brian Smith, on Flickr IMG_6388 by Brian Smith, on Flickr I also have installed the floor pan to the chassis: IMG_6390 by Brian Smith, on Flickr IMG_6391 by Brian Smith, on Flickr
  9. Your work is always impressive! This one is no exception. Great work!!
  10. You really captured this one!! Great weathering!! Excellent work!!
  11. Glad to see you finally post this one on here Rick!! This is one awesome build! As I said before, it looks like the real thing. You did an excellent job of capturing the look of the real thing with your weathering. Great job!!!
  12. Looks great! The lights are an excellent touch! Great work!!!
  13. Thanks for the info! I have the Revell and the Papa truck, but have never compared the cabs to the single bunk. I would have eventually noticed the oil doors, but I guess that I've only dealt with old ones. I'm pretty sure that the one my dad drove had the door in front and I think it was a 79. Do you happen to know when the change was? Also, I'm guessing the grill was different on the 1:1s too like the later Freightliners, do you know when this change was as well? I hate to keep asking so much, but you seem to have a vast knowledge of these trucks.
  14. Very nice build!! I really like the color and the over all finished look. Great build!!
  15. Very impressive work! I like the detail!
  16. Excellent Work!! Very nice and clean build! The fender modifications were an excellent improvement!!
  17. Excellent work all around!! The gate latch assembly is amazing!! You are truly a craftsman!!
  18. You have a way with the KW my friend! Top notch work as always!! Looks great!!! Two questions: 1. Is there a reason that you chose to shorten the cab of the Aerodyne verses using the AMT single bunk cab? Are there more differences than I realized? 2. When can I get some of those wheels???
  19. Very cool project! There were some Transtars converted into double bunks, why couldn't there have been some Cruiseliners too. Looking forward to seeing more!
