  1. There have been several books written by "Model T" Cognoscenti just on the differences between cars. With 15 Million made there are thousands of Changes in the the years from 1908-1927. Many of those books are quite large. On the subject of Model A Fords and Deuces I'd be willing to bet there has been just as much written. I'm a Model T fanatic myself, so Model A's are not really in my wheelhouse, but you could study either car for the rest of your life, and still run across new & surprising things. Even now, over 100 years after the T was built, there are still new discoveries made about features and manufacturing anomalies that turn up, in contravention of what "Everybody Knows". So Take heart. Even the so-called "Experts" are proven wrong about things that "Everybody" knows to be true. Keep learning and have fun. Only Sweat the Details when they are important to YOU.
  2. 25 is cheap now, sadly.

  8. Squadron is back in Business. Much smaller, but still out there. They have retained the rights to their books, AFAIK
  9. AWesome Build! He will love it!
  10. Sharp Build, Mr. Blue! The colour choice works nicely on this kit.
  11. Indeed! I cannot wait to see how this build goes.
  12. I've had issues with the AMT Batmobile myself. I feel his pain.
  13. Blue, Not to scare you off, but FYI that Monogram P-51 is a good kit, but the tool was first engineered in the 1960's. It has had a Lot of plastic pumped through it. It has decent detail, but is now a real fiddly build due to worn molds. I have had several of that boxing and no two kits are exactly the same in regards to fit & finish. Not Unbuildable by any means but it can take some skills to get a good result out of it. Good Luck.
  14. So the Corvette Stingray engine is the one in the '57 Chevy? Cool! Good to Know.
  15. I can tell you a little bit about cutting the leather on a Cone Clutch. The Seam has to be at an angle. If you picture a cement mixer drum as the template for your leather, the seam cannot be a straight vertical cut from the wide end to the narrow, the shortest cut possible. Instead view the cone from the end, and visualize a clock face. Looking at the cone face on, the seam should start about at the 12, and slope down to the 3 or 4 number. It is a longer seam, but it helps keep the clutch from being "grabby", and keeps it from wrinkling. I heard all of this from an old time Authorized Franklin Automobile Mechanic about 30 years ago.
  16. That's Okay. It Worked for both the Coronet, and the '63 Nova Wagon, even if we did not know it, at the time. We'll wait.
  17. Charlie. Discount Tire now owns the Fisk Name, and Trade Dress. I had a set on my Pickup about 2005. It might be worth digging up more info on them. They could be used on Pre WW2 AMT/Mpc Kits, any way.
  18. Wonderful Engine Swap! Makes a great "Street Sleeper"
