  1. That is a great tip, Jon. Thanks!
  2. Leather Cone Clutches were an art form to get correct, according to my friend. He strongly disliked them. I wish I knew more. You might try joining the H.A.M.B Hot Rod forum. There is a huge pool of knowledge there, and somebody may know. There might be some info in old Issues of the Horseless Carriage Club of America (HCCA) Magazines, but I have no library of them to look at.
  3. Looks like a Revell Parts Pack kit. Which is what it is. No More, No Less. They will sell well to those who know what they are. Many newcomers to the hobby will buy and be disappointed.
  4. Possible Quik&Dirty solution to the engine problem in the Ford Truck. Scrounge an older style 'extra' Oil Bath Air Cleaner from a Moebius Ford kit. Many of them have a choice of Air Cleaners. Cut of two of the triple carbs (leave the center one) and file the Manifold flatter on the nds where the old carbs were. Not Great, but perhaps good enough for a Shelf Model. Or There is my plan. Assemble and paint the engine block and oil pan, the heads, exhaust manifolds, and the Fan/Belt parts, install the motor. Glue the hood shut. Curbside using only the minimum of parts.
  5. How goes the Old Pro, Anthony? Is it finished yet?
  6. His articles on Customs in SAE were always great! Thanks for sharing his site!
  7. My other interest is Firearms. Cannot believe the types of people on Firearms forums. Just one Topic Starter. 9mm vs .45 Cal. That one can end friendships. I'm new at the hobby, so I read a lot and say little. That said, there are genuinely nice folks in all hobbies.
  8. The "Best Technique" is the one you have mastered, that consistently gives "you" results you are happy with. Much of this hobby consists of figuring out which skill sets you can use to get the results you want.
  9. That would be very nice if it did.
  10. But, it looks like all the clear parts are in the kit. Even the Domes for the old Sheriff's Blazer are there.
  11. This ^^^ He has gotten the right of it for many buyers.
  12. It will be really nice to have this kit back with this camper. The decals should be something to see!
  13. I wonder if the kit will have Vinyl Tires or Hard Plastic ones? The instructions show the Hard Plastic.
  14. He is not for everybody. But His open box parts reviews and his Quik Builds will reveal assembly issues that might discourage a new builder. Chris is also very, very clear where is audience is and he aims for the center of that group. He is not trying for the AMS, Detail Junkie, or Hyper Contest Modeler. If you take him for what he is, (a guy who builds over 100 models a year , on camera) he is doing a great job.
  15. I like the look of the test shot! Make a great demolition derby car.
  16. David says it better than I can. Awesome Builds!
  17. Dang! Would have been great to see.
  18. I'll play the game. The NNL East announcements will be something we did not see coming at all. One will be something Brand New. (Think 2021 or 2022 Model) The Other might be a clone, but I don't think it will be a promo, really. My thought is that it will be something nobody has really mentioned, possibly from MPC tooling. Maybe a Showrod or something off the beaten path. Anyway, I'll lay my marker down here.
  19. Looks Great, and your care in building it shows!
  20. This is going to be a great model. Watching to see it finished.
  21. Yes, they are. And reading the pulse of their primary market, quite well, I'd say.
  22. Here is the Boxart for the Time Machine.
  23. Man, I too wish they would come back. But I think they are long, long gone, the tooling recycled years ago. Until somebody 3D scans and starts printing them, modelers will never see them again.
