Jim S, love that build. Where did those wheels come from?

Dear Atlantis bring this one back !!!
stavanzer replied to milo1303s's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
I think Revell still has the tooling for the Tony Nancy Dragster that is the chassis on this kit. Not sure where the body shell tooling is. Atlantis may have it, but they are very closed mouthed about what tooling is in their possession. -
AMT 1960 3-in-1 Ford F-100 Pickup Truck
stavanzer replied to rekcirb13's topic in Truck Kit News & Reviews
Jim, just remember that the Intake Manifold and Heads on the pickup are all one piece, and trap the exhaust manifolds/headers between the heads and the block. You'll need to do some minor surgery in order to fit a single carb manifold. I've been eyeing the stock intakes from the AMT '56 & '57 Fords as donors. -
Streaker AWB F-85 Cutlass kit; will this be coming?
stavanzer replied to GMP440's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
Makes sense to do it that way. Thanks, Steve. -
I test fitted the Flattie Hop-Up parts from the Revell '48 Ford Convertible, the Revell '40 Ford Coupe/Convertible and the Revell 37/37 Ford Pickup. All are the Versions with a Hot Rod flathead V-8 in the kit. With a bit of trimming all the Dual or Triple Carb intakes fit all the blocks. All the aftermarket Heads fit as well. There is some "adjusting" needed for them, but you should be able to get them to work on the '32 engine. In fact I have an Ardun Head build of a '32 Roadster using the Heads from the Revell '50 Pickup in the works now.

Tim, When I saw the chassis on the new Chevy kit, it just popped into my mind, that the '65 El Camino would be a good donor for a drag car. I've rounded up a 5 of HPI Guy's video reviews on kits that I think would make good parts donors for the new kit, if you want to make a drag machine. I know many members may not know or remember exactly what parts are in what kits, so these video's should give a quick overview. I can give no guarantee that the parts are drop in swaps. My Guess is that there will be a lot of fettling to make things work, but the end result should be some cool cars! I included the '63, because it has the option for a Fuel Injected Six Cyl, which would make a Unique Racer. Hope this helps!

Streaker AWB F-85 Cutlass kit; will this be coming?
stavanzer replied to GMP440's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
Thanks for the great video. Not much of any interest though. The Streaker F-85, the Boss Nova, the red '32 Ford Roadster. Steve G, could we get tinted glass on the Streaker, please? Red, Yellow or Blue would be great great! Thanks. -
Looking for a 1/24 Scale Curtiss OX-5 Engine.

Thanks for all the great Info, Guys!! I need to start sending E-mails and see what I can scare up -
Looking for the Brush Guard, Front Bumper from either the Dodge Monster Truck or ThunderStruck Puller. Part # 106 in this image. I'd cheerfully take the Winch (3 parts #82) also. I'll take it in pretty much any condition, as long as it is usable. The ThunderStruck Brush Guard is part # 76. I have lots to trade! Thanks!

Truck, sort of...
stavanzer replied to Terry Jessee's topic in Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
They used it later in a series of Gas Company Commercials, for the "Road Worrier" IIRC. Great Build, Terry. I remember riding the bus into L.A. for Doctor appointments at the Sepulveda V.A. and seeing the Landmaster sitting derelict at a shop on the west side of the 405. You really did a great job job on the finish. -
European Trucks by Italeri
stavanzer replied to Jürgen M.'s topic in Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
Great Trucks, Jurgen! I really Like the DAF 2800. I want ti find one and build it, but Italeri truck kits cost a lot on cash and I am cheap. I'll get one some day. I really like the look of the 2800. I can see one built with Canadian markings. -

How to strip Trumpeter chrome?
stavanzer replied to kensar's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
IIRC, when Scale Auto did a review of the Trumpy kit they noted that the chrome had a copper undercoating, just like 'real' chrome. It may be almost impossible to strip the chrome plating with out ruining the plastic, I'd spray the parts with a good primer (Tamiya, maybe?) and then paint to suit. Also, what colour are you planning on painting the de-chromed parts? If it is a different shade of chrome, I might try different clear flat paints to see what finish I could get. -
Went to HL today after the Model Club meeting. Nothing Marked Down. Asked a clerk stocking nearby. Has not heard of any mark downs or discounts. Stock was the Same ole, same ole, I wish they'd stock the MPC Bronco, and the AMT '65 El Camino Camper....

I have no idea if they will. What I will guarantee, is that they have plans to release those two pickup kits in other boxes, with different decals and options. I can see the '60 with the Coke Machine from the '60/61 Ranchero and Coke decals. I can also see the '63 with the trailer and a set of dedicated Race Team markings, for the Camper, Truck and Trailer. A set of One Ton Wheels on the '60 might be nice to see, as well. Add in a wrecker boom and front brush guard and you would have a decent Tow Truck.
