  1. Would the Fireball Modelwerks Resin tube bumpers for the First Gen Ford Bronco Fit? Or could they be made to fit, without too much work? I'd guess the dimensions are close.
  2. Amen, Mark! You said it much better than I could. Thank You!
  3. Yeah, Revell is getting a whole lot of mileage out of that set of Wheel Tooling. I don't really care for those wheels and think that they look dated now, even though they are not really that old. But, it is easy enough to find other wheels.
  4. The Late Bob Paeth told me that he and Mr. Keeler worked on several kits together. I don't remember which ones. But, Mr. Keeler was most certainly involved with some well known 1960's Revell Kits.
  5. Good Luck on your Build. There is a fairly nice 289 in the '66 Mustang Fastback kit, and the AMT Shelby Cobra. Those are my Go-to kits for 289 engines.
  6. Maybe so. If that is what it is supposed to be in is not up to MPC's usual standards of Engraving and Tooling......
  7. I want this one back! I hope Round2 is planning on brining it back someday.
  8. The '76 Did not come with a BBC, IIRC. Only a small block. The "Wrong Engine" issue has been a much talked about problem for some time. Every time the '76 is re-issued, the reviewer usually takes the time to point out that the engine is a carry over from the original 1973-74 version of the kit, and thus incorrect for the '76. So, I'd say find a late 1970's Small Block and swap away.
  9. This whole debate makes me cringe. OOTB builds seem to have been a solution that pleases nobody except those who live to follow rules, and then enforce those same rules on others. I think I'll avoid ever labeling a kit build "Box Stock' just to stay clear of the issue.
  10. I've been meaning to ask about the Chromed Air Cleaner in the MPC 1972-1978 Series of Dodge Trucks. Part Number is usually 117, and it is two pieces, always chromed. I'll post a link to the instruction What exactly is it? It must be somehow race connected, or it would not have appeared in the Off Road racing themed 1972 Baja Brute. But, I've looked at contemporary ads, and I see nothing really like it. I'm sure that the MPC designers copied Something that they had seen. I just would like to know what? And why didn't we get a stock Air Cleaner too? And what is the best way to assemble it? It looks odd to my eyes when I do it the way the directions want you to do it, But it doesn't look much better if you put it together any other way. https://public.fotki.com/drasticplasticsmcc/mkiba-build-under-c/mpc-instructions/1-sort/mpc-dodge-off-road-/scan0015.html#media
  11. Yeah, but Even Hotwheels and Cheap Diecast toys have driveline detail on the Chassis plates. That truck looks like the underside of a Coinbank.
  12. Awesome! My favorite show as a boy. I have about 6 copies of this kit. After seeing yours, I need to finish one.
  13. Clever Build! I like the look of it. Good Show, Mate!
  14. Yeah, those Fireball Rims/Tires are just Awesome for this kind of build.
  15. So. It's not gonna work is it? Well, get used to the square headlights, I guess, or go to a whole lot of work to fix the front end. Thanks for sharing the pics.
  16. Bill, Thanks for sharing the decals. I am planning on trying to get close to the box art, but not exact. I've already located lettering decals to do the Baja Brute and Mexican 1000 markings. So, it will be more of a Tribute Build than an exact replica. I plane to use the Fireball Resin's famous FMR-154B Ford F-250 Wheels and tires for the kit, and will have to see what else I use.
  17. Here is an Inbox review of the Squad Rod Nova. I expect that the new Nova Kit will differ from the Squad Rod only in the decals and colour of molded plastic. (Black on the S.R. and White on the new kit) Other than that, I think the the plastic Parts will be identical, with the Omission of the Police Parts. I stlll want one. https://adamrehorn.wordpress.com/mpc-1-25-1979-nova-squad-rod-out-of-box/
  18. Box top shows Folding Table & Chair, Small Tent (Easy-up) Tool Box/First Aid kit and the Two Figs. A Rallye Board was in the Car, too, IIRC. Here is a Link to Adam Rehorn's look inside the Bear Bait kit. https://adamrehorn.wordpress.com/model-kits/out-of-box-reviews/mpc-125-1979-chevette-bear-bait/
  19. Well , I hope the Dodge Truck gets many more releases. I'll buy all of them. The Baja Brute project is moving slowly, but moving. I need some decals. Does anybody have any suggestions?
  20. Seriously bad chassis plate, Revell. How to tell us you are not even trying anymore......
  21. Sad, but not surprising. 28 years is a very long time for this kind of niche business. I wish Dale much happiness.
  22. I did recently get a set of acceptable test shots and I even did a test build to confirm we have the Pro-Street version. However, it was still decided to move the tooling to another location. When and where, I don't have the answer yet, so consider its status as planned but on hold. I'm hoping it will still be a 2024 item, but the clock is ticking. -Steve This quote is from Steve G, on Feb 2nd in this thread.
  23. Crude or not, it would still be nice to have him and his partner back.
  24. After inspecting the parts in the Warlock and the '78 Dodge D-100 Long Bed kits, it looks like almost all the parts needed to bring the Baja Brute kit are still in the tool. A few manor parts (light bar, some gas caps and other small parts) are not in the chrome tree or on the plastic sprues, but most of the rest is there. Of course, there are no 1/20 scale 4x4 steel wheels and tires, but that is an easy fix. It would be nice, also, to have the Triple Carb, Six Pack intake and Air Cleaner back but that is a small deal. I'd prefer to see the older grille restored, but a 77/78 Brute can be built just by using the parts from the Warlock & Long Bed kits. I'd like to see the Baja Brute reboxed, as a new kit. Also, look at the Camper Shell in the Off Road Camper version shown in the directions. It would be really nice to see those parts return too! One of the Motorcycles from the kit has been released as a Pats Pack a while ago, so all the bits needed are out there. I'll begin building a Modern '78 Baja Brute in a few days. I am that excited about these Dodge Pickup kits. Here are the instructions, so you can see how few parts are actually different in the kits. https://modelkitreviews.proboards.com/thread/922/mpc-baja-brute-dodge-adventurer https://public.fotki.com/drasticplasticsmcc/mkiba-build-under-c/mpc-instructions/1-sort/mpc-dodge-off-road-/?view=roll#1 And a Bonus, the ThunderSTruck, a nifty kit on it's own. https://modelkitreviews.proboards.com/thread/1104/mpc-0442-thunderstruck-dodge-pickup I really dig Part #76 the Grille Guard! I wish that would come back!!! Steve G and Round2, Thanks again for all the work on these Dodge Truck kits.
