  1. IIRC, when Scale Auto did a review of the Trumpy kit they noted that the chrome had a copper undercoating, just like 'real' chrome. It may be almost impossible to strip the chrome plating with out ruining the plastic, I'd spray the parts with a good primer (Tamiya, maybe?) and then paint to suit. Also, what colour are you planning on painting the de-chromed parts? If it is a different shade of chrome, I might try different clear flat paints to see what finish I could get.
  2. Good Luck, Bill. I hope to see you finish it and drive it!
  3. Went to HL today after the Model Club meeting. Nothing Marked Down. Asked a clerk stocking nearby. Has not heard of any mark downs or discounts. Stock was the Same ole, same ole, I wish they'd stock the MPC Bronco, and the AMT '65 El Camino Camper....
  4. I have no idea if they will. What I will guarantee, is that they have plans to release those two pickup kits in other boxes, with different decals and options. I can see the '60 with the Coke Machine from the '60/61 Ranchero and Coke decals. I can also see the '63 with the trailer and a set of dedicated Race Team markings, for the Camper, Truck and Trailer. A set of One Ton Wheels on the '60 might be nice to see, as well. Add in a wrecker boom and front brush guard and you would have a decent Tow Truck.
  5. Any More News on the Blazer?
  6. What Great Build ups! I really like the Fender Mount Spare on the Black truck. Both are great. Good Show.
  7. Sharp Build! Good Show.
  8. Wow!
  9. Fantastic Pizza Car. I did a lot of work on these back in the '90's when I worked at an Acura Dealer. My boss bought quite a few Excels to re-sell at the Auto Auctions. I got to know them well. Truly awful little cars. Your's is perfect. Those are indeed the Barris T-Buggy Decals.
  10. Nice Build, Jeff! The Colour is great. Good Show.
  11. Colour, Stance, Wheels & Details are all perfect! This kit Rocks! Good Show.
  12. Great Job on a simple kit. Proof that any kit can be built for Fun and still looks Sharp. Good Show.
  13. And here is the build Video, for those who may have missed it.
  14. Any News on this kit? I've been looking but have seen nothing....
  15. I have no more LHS to support. So, All of my buying is either Online or H.L. But the selection at HL is very stale, and all the new kits I want are coming from Mail Orders, now. I need to get the 68 Coronet HT to go with my 'Vert, but the Ford Trucks pushed it down the list. I may need a second '60 F-100, just for the spare parts and trailer. It is a very nice kit.
  16. Awesome Build! You nailed the weathering!
  17. My wife wants to move to Dog River, (aka Rouleau) Sask. She likes the show so much that we now have a Copy of the Ruby sign in our Great Room. WE even started started watching the CFL Grey Cup games. So, the family is trending North.
  18. Update II The temporary Election Job with County that I started Jan 30 is done. We finished the phone bank on Tuesday March 19, when the Special Election for California's 20th Congressional District was held. This was only a short term job, paying minimum wage ($16.00 per hr) only until the election was held. I learned more about elections and ballots than I ever wanted to know. Fascinating stuff, however. I suspect, that if you call the Elections Division of your local county, you can sign up to be an observer. It is worth the trouble to watch the actual process of an election working. There are many, many more moving parts than most folks imagine, and more activity than you can believe. It is worth it to learn and watch. Got hired to start a new, permanent job, April First. (not a joke). Industrial Concrete Company, doing Concrete Cutting for Cal-Trans, Fed-Gov and BNSF Railroad.
  19. I think You are correct. It is an odd mix of Custom Parts.
  20. Great Build! The Colour Combo of Woodgrain and Yellow pops. Did you start with the MPC Woody/Pickup Kit?
  21. Thanks, Ace. Plenty of reading there, for fixing Chrome Head;ight. I'll be busy later.
