  1. I love the "Ghost Car" pics with the center of the car missing. Sweet sir.
  2. That's pretty major Chris. Shame it's getting painted, but when it is, it'll look like the real deal.
  3. Wow John, really? Sheesh. You give a guy a little taste of fancy front wheel fairings and ya' just go nutz. Do you have NOOO self control? Guess I need to stock up on coronary medication. I've got oxygen and sunglasses standing by too.
  4. Good comedy is all about the timing. You provided the source material and I took advantage of it. Hope you're having a great day my Brother.
  5. Am I the only one that can see Bruce Wayne at the wheel of that bad boy?
  6. That was my first thought.
  7. It's like waiting for Christmas to see what Santa Teresi left under the tree. Does that put the Minions in the "Elf" category?
  8. Funny and too true Karl. I was thinking along those lines when I saw the pic during download.
  9. Danke Michael, it looks even better out of the box. Now all I have to do is figure out how to keep this monster from chewing up a rotor / hub I need to install studs in.
  10. Count me in on the book too Tim. Every update brings new and innovative ways to do standard items. P.S. , I bought a drill press. Expect a call anytime now.
  11. I had a feeling you'd go curbside Darryl. Kind of a win win since you do curb and full detail so well. I would like to see a pic of it in the diorama with a partial tarp or a rolled up parachute. Maybe shove an old towel in the air scoop?
  12. Tom, I remember the good olden days when either of us could have hauled that bad boy upstairs alone while eating a sandwich. It was the same with mine, but it was one piece. When it started to shift on the dolly, it made it from the truck to the garage to the hobby room. Period. Done. Uncle.
  13. Well, I'm always up to my tukas in alligators on the first of the month, but I managed to do some interweb searches and picked up a drill press at Home Depot. It's a Ryobi that cost $129.00. While I now need a work bench / table for it and the other tools I plan to acquire, I hope to get it unboxed tomorrow even though I'll have to set it up on the photography table for now. My next items will be a saw, a lathe and a polisher / grinder.
  14. Thank you Dann. I picked up the display cabinet at a local thrift shop for $60.00. There are bargains to be had.
  15. I got it Brother. I hit Home Depot and picked up a Ryobi for $129.00. With any luck, I'll actually take it out of the box tomorrow. See my Nomad post for a pic.
  16. There's a lot of great workspaces folks. My current digs gave me room to expand. The first pic is from the apartment I just moved out of. This is a stolen corner of my bedroom. The next three are the Extended Edition Director's Cut Extravaganza Widescreen IMAX version in my new home. I earned it the hard way.
  17. I feel ya' Brad. I shook like a leaf as I hand drilled my rear wheels. Now I have to match it with the rear hub. I might get a small drill press from Harbor Freight today. We'll see.
  18. How would you know what progress looks like? BAZINGA!!!!!! That was too good to pass up Brother. Hope you had a great Holiday weekend Buddy. Here comes some more of that stuff Michael. Actually, the hardest part has been changing my 62 year old mind set from plastic to metal. The rewards are starting to show. I sincerely hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving holiday. It gave me the time and motivation to get the front end done. It still needs bolt and bracket trimming and final assembly of the tie rod, so we'll call this the final mockup. Yes, I still need to make shocks, but I'll do that after I get the rear axle done. That's next.
  19. Just like Playboy. Look at the pictures, then read the article. At first I wanted to see this sitting in a backyard / junkyard diorama. Then I read the description. So, mission accomplished. Nice start.
  20. Darryl, your builds are always beautiful and unique. Unusual details everywhere with flawless execution. Thanx for sharing.
  21. Dave, NOOOOOO!!!!!! Mirrors would only intensify the effect. I'm old. My heart is having a hard enough time staying in rhythm on normal updates. Give an old bald headed fart a break.
  22. I'm no expert either Chris. I have seen them used with a single spring straight axle, but here's my main reasoning. This is going to be a HighBoy in every sense of the word. Therefore, again my reasoning, taller wheelstands equals higher G-Force on landing. They are more for stability than anything else. Unfortunately, right or wrong, I glued the last spindle tube on the axle, so it's not coming apart again. I know because I did a test piece, then tried to take it apart. It was destroyed in the attempt.
  23. Sure thing Brother Tim. I'll get right on that as soon as you make me some upper and lower coil housings. Guess I'm going to have to use my Dremel as a lathe. That will be a first.
