  1. I know I will buy one when it becomes available, just because of the subject! I'm sure it's not 100%, but it doesn't look to be totally out of whack like a Monogram 1/24 '56 Belair hardtop kit! And it's hard for me to make a judgment without seeing one painted and foiled!
  2. Another all around great build!
  3. Beautiful build, color looks really nice !
  4. I agree! And they probably think they are saving the planet!
  5. Use the label maker tape as a guide for the blade then, if you mess up, I guess you can just refill and start over!
  6. I can't wait to see this one finished! I love your flawless paint jobs, some of the best jobs ever!
  7. I take it the lines are there, but real faint? I use the backside of a #ll blade to start with, then I'll go over it with a panel scriber ( if you don't have one, you can keep going at it with the #11 blade ). If I need a guide line, I'll use that plastic Dymo label maker tape. Try to practice on an old scrap body first, and I've also noticed that some styrene is harder than others, so watch how much pressure you use.
  8. You can bet that Revell is gearing up for a revamped version of this kit in the future with custom wheels, lowered suspension, and maybe a back seat. They already have the tooling for the wheels and suspension in the other tri-five kits.
  9. My name used to be Plumber, until I decided I hated it and changed it! And I would change it on that "other" site if it would let me!
  10. This kit has been on the market for well over a year now! As many as I have seen built-up, I wouldn't say it was a dud! I have 4 of them unbuilt and have 2 built up. I have seen other kits that were "hits" on clearance also. Mustangs,32 Fords and so on.
  11. Just about anything is obtainable if you can afford it!
  12. Very nice looking Shelby! Very clean build. My display case is also lacking Fords, I'm going to try to change that this coming year!
  13. I just purchased this kit last week . I have not opened it yet, but I built one when it was reissued back in the mid 70's, when I was about 14 yrs old . it has a multi piece body but builds up real well. The retractable top worked real well for me even though I wasn't near the modeler I am now. The main thing is to make sure the body stays square during assembly, and everything should fit well. You can make it look as nice as Ed's model. In fact, I'm going to get another one for my stash, if I find a kit I like I usually keep two or three on hand!
  14. Very beautiful Cougar, great work! The color just makes this car pop!
  15. I wonder how the AMT '67 Impala chassis would fit under your Pontiac? As I recall, these Hasegawa kits had a very generic dash and interior, maybe at least the dash from the AMT '65 Bonneville would work ( the gauges in the middle of the dash were round in '65, square for '66, but the rest of the dash looks the same).
  16. Thank you all for the comments! Here's a couple pics of the same Cyclone with wheel covers.
  17. Under hood shots that I forgot about. Thanks again!
  18. I finished up the Mercury today, Duplicolor paint, foiled, Torque Thrust wheels from the AMT '62 Impala convertible kit. No major fit issues, just a slow and careful build. Thanks for looking! Questions and comments welcome!
  19. Thanks Joe! The wheels were sourced from the AMT '62 Impala convertible kit, same wheels are also in the AMT '62 Belair kit.
  20. I'm on the home stretch as far as this build goes, I have to detail the rear bumper and tail panel, front bumper, and do something about the toy like grill. What do you think so far?
  21. Thanks Charlie! The red was Testors flat red that I "dirtied up" by mixing in some Testors flat black.
  22. Here's where I'm at as of now on this build. Thanks for looking!
  23. Thanks for the comments! So far, from what I've finished or test fitted, it's been pretty good! Test fit the engine compartment before you glue together, everything has to be square with the frame rails. I started by gluing the inner fenders to the firewall making sure that stayed square, when that was dried the I attached it to the chassis. Test fit the front suspension components before gluing in place, it's kind of fiddly.
  24. I've checked the 150's I've built and I think you probably have the carrier [pumpkin] rotated 180 degrees off. That would throw the drive shaft off to one side.
  25. I managed to upload photos for my Comet build, it took 4 times as long as it used to, not user friendly at all! Why is it when something works, someone feels the need to screw with it?
