  1. The paint looks great Pat. I can certainly relate to wanting to touch the model before the paint is completely dry. Been there and done that! Rob
  2. Looking at the kit further I think you are right Terry. Thanks for the suggestion, I am going to do that.
  3. I like where you are going with this! Thanks for posting the videos as well. They sure give a detailed look at the build of this kit. Rob
  4. Thanks Angel and Terry. I didn't know DM was for Dump Mixer. I learned something new today. I managed to find an AMT John Deere 310 tractor last weekend as well. That with the lowboy and the DM800 should be a fun little project. Once I get a couple of other builds off the table I'll get started in on this combo. Rob
  5. I'm lucky enough to have a good hobby shop close to me with a great stock of tools, new kits, and many older kits. So I don't need to order online. I would highly recommend sprue cutters to anyone new in the hobby.
  6. Yeah, I would agree the resin wheels and tires look best. As Michael has said, rough and tough! Rob
  7. Thanks Carl. I Googled the truck and mainly saw heavy construction applications like, dump, cement mixer, logging, and hauling heavy equipment. I didn't see any which were towing vans or I guess more standard highway loads.
  8. Great to see this model back in one piece Alain. You have done a great job restoring it. Rob
  9. There are some great models on the go here guys.
  10. Wow Art. Just read through your build thread, amazing work! Rob
  11. Thanks for the nice comments guys. I like to use Tamiya spray cans for large bodies like this Brian. The red I used is TS-85 Bright Mica Red. Rob
  12. Great build idea Terry. It's looking great. Where did you source the resin tires?
  13. I was lucky enough to find an AMT\Model King Mack DM800 for a very reasonable price. I know these rigs were used for heavy construction equipment hauling, but were they also used to haul tank and other trailer types?
  14. Now I have this sudden urge to watch reruns of the Partridge Family. You did a great job on your bus Mark. Interior is very cool. Rob
  15. You did a great job on the air dryer Brian. I'm just soaking all the truck tech up! Rob
  16. Thanks guys!! Yes, lots of sanding to get things the way I wanted to Pat. All part of the experience Just a quick update. I have managed to get the cab and the hood painted and mocked up. I'll be polishing out the paint and clear coating it soon so it will shine like a rig just off the assembly line. Thanks for looking. Rob
  17. Your build is coming along nicely Sean. Great picture John! Rob
  18. Thanks for the great tip Mark.
  19. A lot of improvements in the safety features of today's cars have come from car companies being sued as well. Poorly engineered cars can be death traps as we have all seen over the years. Just look at the Ford Pinto.
  20. Thanks guys, I appreciate the comments. I was worried that the hinges might be a bit to big.
  21. Fantastic modelling Charles.
  22. You're moving along nicely Mark. I started my first big rig build a couple of months ago here. Everyone here has been very helpful, I'm sure you'll enjoy yourself. Rob
  23. Thanks guys. I've been working away on the paint and interior. I'll post some progress shots this week.
  24. I really like what you have done with this so far Matt. I'll be following along with this build. Rob
