Mustang MPG

probably not. but when a vehicle sits around like this Mustang, & my Torino do, it is very beneficial to change the oil every four months or so. just used that example to say it is a very well cared for automobile. and when I buy my 2011, it will be treated the same way. -
Mustang MPG

my question is: is your Mustang a Stick? or an Automatic? My '01 GT Bullitt gets alot better fuel mileage than yours. its a 5 speed manual, and frequently gets better than 30 on the Highway. at 80+ mph. Once, driving very slow (60 mph) on a lonely two lane blacktop in Montana, that was infested with stupid deer, it obtained 45 mpg over a 90 mile stretch. But then again, this is a manual transmission vehicle, that has had very frequent oil changes in its 15,000 mile life. And only one person has ever driven it. Me........... -
1970 Dodge Dart Swinger 340. 1970 Plymouth 'cuda 383 /Shaker hood four speed /Convertible. 1953 Ford 2 Door Ranchwagon/ V8. 2001 Ford Mustang GT -"Bullitt" (still in my garage. ) I consider myself lucky. most everything else I own, or have owned, that I would want in a scale model format has been done. at least Automobile wise. Have owned a few pick-up trucks that I would like to build replicas of.

Well. while it's not Tamiya, Testors/ 'Model Master'- #2909 Light Ivory is close. -
your engine detail looks quite good. very realistic. I just saw an engine like this, oddly enough, sitting in a Ford Sedan: This is a very cool model your building.

several hundred built. a couple of thousand unbuilt. only about dozen in mid-built stage........

I bought a used Vega GT once, for $150.00 some friends and I decided it needed a power upgrade, so we drove the little 4 banger vega over to my friends house, and proceeded to drop a Buick 425 Nailhead and Automatic transmission into the poor thing. got it all fastened up, put lots of fluids in it, started right up. decided to drive it around the block, just to see how it would run. well, it ran quite well, the additional Horsepower really woke that little car up. it was very quick. However, when I got back in front of my friends house, to show all the folks how well little Frankenstein ran I hit the brakes, the front frame rails splayed out and the entire engine & transmission fell out hitting the pavement. I got a nice round of applause from the crowd. Lesson Learned. The next Vega GT got a small block chevy...

Your Very First Real Car
my name is nobody replied to FujimiLover's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
my first car was a 1970 Dodge Super Bee. FK5 Dark Burnt Orange Metallic Coupe. Stripe Delete, 440- 4 Speed. Bought it when I got my learners permit. I was not quite 16. my Mom passed away when I was a little boy. some guys in suits showed up at the door of my Aunts house one day, I thought it was the cops. refused to answer the door. My Aunt thought I was crazy. so she answered the door, I couldnt quite hear the conversation completely, But my name was mentioned several times. They were from the Social Security Administration. I was entitled to "Survivor Benefits" and they had been looking for me for quite some time, apparently......... it felt like I hit the lottery. Looked at a TON of Musclecars, Had my eye on a couple, a '70 Chevelle SS 454, and a '68 GTO Ram Air III. My Auntie had a neighbour who heard of my search, wheeled out his Plymouth GTX, took me for a ride, I saw the light at 145 mph. A Mopar was in my future. That neighbour & I developed a close friendship. He even went with me to get my first car. were still friends all these years later. &I'm still a Musclecar Nut...... -
Beautiful Build. Awesome 1:1 car too. Nice story, and obviously this was worth the wait. Great Model........

What is your favourite model?

I'm partial to this build up: mostly because I built it up as a replica of the 1:1 that sits in my garage. I do enjoy this model, though. a terrific kit in all of its variations & it's a classic Mustang. this was built up as a replica of a car that cruised around my hometown back in the seventies: -
Terrific Color! I like this vintage of GTO. last of the really good looking G.T.O's Those Honeycomb wheels look awesome. if I remember correctly, lots of guys ditched those. they were incredibly heavy. Beautiful Model.

Hey. that '71 'cuda looks great on the wall. Your '69 Camaro looks great! interesting paint scheme, too. I built one of these Monogram kits a couple of years ago. another model board I belong to had a '69 Camaro Community Build Project, I chose this one. of course, I was the ONLY one who did. it is a fair kit, brought back alot of memories, I built one up long, long, ago. when it was a new kit. my version:
