  1. It's not just GM. I had a 2017 F350 Platinum last summer. Constantly got a "take a break" warning.
  2. Yup, this original was great! But like most franchises, the more they make, the worse they get.
  3. I think it's ridiculous that a manufacturer builds stuff like this. It makes no sense. But I LOVE that it exists, and I love that manufacturers still choose to release models that add nothing to the bottom line. Chrysler did it a couple of years ago too with the Drag Pack Challengers.
  4. Buy it. I'll bring a trailer and give you $100 for it.
  5. Can't even tell you how hard I've hunting for a reasonably priced version of this kit. I'll be building a replica of 1:1 my dad had in the 80s.
  6. The first time I saw them was back in 1988. They were opening for Metallica on the Damaged Justice tour. I thought it was great! But the crowd did not care for them, and booed and threw stuff at them. After three songs, Ian said "you guys are a f-ing waste of time," threw down his mic and walked off stage. The band played for another minute or so, then they left too. Luckily, they didn't hold it against Edmonton. I've since seen them every time they've come back. This will be interesting, as it's a smaller venue. A venue MY played a couple of decades ago. Going to be great.
  7. Scored a pair of tickets to see The Cult on Friday. Been a huge of theirs since the 80s.
  8. Nice build! I really like these Aoshima truck kits.
  9. I know it's all personal preference as to how someone decides to treat a rare kit, ie whether they build it or not, but those guys always remind me of the guy who has a classic car sitting there rotting away in a barn or in a field, and they always tell people that it's not for sale and they'll get around to restoring it, but they never do, and then they die. Whatever floats your boat I guess.
  10. Whoops! You're right. That Galaxie should not be there. When adding pics and looking at tiny thumbnails, I probably mistook it for a GTO.
  11. You're right. The Blazers/Broncos/SUVs of old were a lot stronger and tougher, and could do what was asked of them without hesitation. But...as i said earlier, they were designed for the times. Truck owners wanted more utility from their vehicles, so the manufacturers took the existing truck platforms, changed the wheelbases, slapped a full roof on it, and boom; the SUV was born. And it's the exact same thing these days. People are asking for their vehicles to do certain things, and the manufacturers are responding. And this new Blazer is the result. We shouldn't be complaining about the vehicle, we should be complaining about how soft society has become! As an aside, I still like a real SUV. One with capability.
  12. Do people honestly not see how a post about Trump could turn this golf thread into a politics thread? The post was impliying that he's a liar. And there are people here who both support and do not support him. There's a reason we don't want political or religious threads here. Now cue the complaints about censorship.
  13. I have got to find this kit somewhere. Love what you're doing to it. You have the stance nailed.
  14. Distracted driving? Hardly. The controls aren't any different than having physical knobs and switches. The only difference is that they're on a touch screen instead of being a physical switch. Just like every other vehicles on the road, once you learn where all of the controls are on your car, it's easy. Most of the complicated screens aren't accessible while the vehicle is in motion, or even shifted out of park. And a lot of these high tech vehicles make it even easier. You push a button on the steering wheel and tell the car what you want it to do. "Turn the AC on. "Set the cruise to 120." "Call home." It's pretty simple.
  15. Meh. I look at cars from the 50s or pre-war cars, and I think most are ugly and every one I've driven has been uncomfortable and bothersome to drive. Doesn't mean I don't understand why people would want to fix one up, customize, or own one. But that's the beauty of the automotive world. There's so much choice out there, that all of us can enjoy something without having to complain about other peoples' tastes. Or so one would think.
  16. I don't know how rare these are, but they're probably the rarest I have. I have every intention of building these. Except for the Challenger I, will trade that for just about anything else. I have two of these Transits. This one in yellow, and the molded in white "Canon" version.
  17. That looks killer. I'd be proud to have that on my shelf.
  18. I think our definitions of heavy metal are vastly different. lolz. I think Teddy is barely hard rock. And unless he performs in his loincloth and with bow & arrow, it just won't be worth it.
  19. Not bad. $20CDN for these. Both are complete, and the Tamiya is still bags sealed, including the original motor and wiring.
  20. I think that's one of the reasons they haven't tried to replace the platform so far. it's a Mercedes, it handles great! But it could be better. All of the lightweight aluminum that Mercedes used was replaced with steel and other metals in the Dodge/Chrysler product. Definitely changed the feel of the car. Still, I'm a fan, I've owned one, and I wouldn't hesitate to purchase another.
  21. There's been a couple of decent renderings that hint at what could have been. But when the four door looks this good, what's the point? Especially when there's this for a two door option.
  22. Daimler had to redesign and reconfigure the show car to fit on the outgoing Mercedes E-class platform that they were planning to use for the Charger/Challenger/300/Magnum. That's right, the Hellcat and Demon, and SRT cars have a lot in common with a 20 year old Mercedes.
  23. Yes, happy Independence Day to all my American friends. Celebrating 22 years of freedom thanks to the hero Russell Casse. If it weren't for his brave actions and sacrifice...well...where would we all be?
