  1. They're so 70s and so cheesy, but man what I would give to find an affordable one today!
  2. Update! I found the trailer! I now have everything I'll need to complete this one.
  3. I finally found one of my holy grail kits at a reasonable cost! AMT '75 Matador X, factory sealed, and significantly under $50 CDN. And it was in Canada, so shipping took a couple of days. I've been hunting this one for a ong time, so I'm pretty stoked! I also finally found a trailer kit that I've been hunting for quite some time too! AMT 40ft post van. Open, but bags sealed and 100% complete. I need this for my TAT 2018 build.
  4. That turned out amazing. Nicely done. Could you imagine having to drive that rig in the real world?
  5. Thanks guys! I definitely want to build a '75 Duster, as I have a specific build/theme in mind that requires that car. Sounds like I have my work cut out for me if I want this thing to resemble one! I saw the original issue Duster, and I'm not prepared to spend that much! But I found this, and it was cheap, so I figured I'd give it a go.
  6. Question for the experts! What will I need to do to this kit to build it stock? I know the hood is two piece, but can anyone tell me if this has the stock wheels/tires and the "custom" ones? And if not, where is the best source for a set of stock wheels/tires for it? Are there any other pieces I'll need to track down or modify? Thanks!
  7. These arrived today. been wanting them for a while, finally pulled the trigger. Less money than I was expecting too, which is always a bonus.
  8. That's what I thought! But actually, the instructions do say to put them on with the molded step in the back, and then there is an additional chromed piece to put in front. I think they look better with the small step in front, so I'll be flipping them back.
  9. I think I preferred the look with the reversed fenders. Might remove them and put them back on the "wrong" way! lolz Made some quick and dirty engine mounts. They'll never been seen once the engine and everything is in place. Engine sits in there perfectly, and when the body is on, everything lines up exactly how I wanted it. Next steps will be getting the engine finished, including turbo plumbing and intercooler. It appears there are parts missing for this engine, so I'll be doing some improvising. Won;t be 100% accurate, but it'll look "right."
  10. I'm slowly working away on this one, won't be done by June 30th though.
  11. That looks excellent. Very nicely done!
  12. lolz. Go back and look at the tire pic above. "BFGaadrich." That's fantastic.
  13. It's on the list of kits i want to start...as soon as I clear some kits off the bench. And everytime I see a build like yours, it makes me want to get moving! I could...but I won't. I don't build for 100% accuracy. In most cases, I'll build something so that it looks as good on my shelf as I can possibly make it. I always finish underhood and underneath, and as long as it looks "right" then I'm happy. It's just how I do it. Anyway, mrmike, you said "more to come." Where's those pics? lolz
  14. oldcarfan27 is a solid trader. Shipped when he said it would ship, arrived in good shape. No complaints.
  15. I got mine at Michael's. But it's the beige Martha Stewart mat.
  16. I just found this kit recently, after a long search for a reasonably priced one. Looking forward to starting it!
  17. Okay, fenders have been swapped and are on correctly now. Did some work on the engine bay yesterday, had to do a little trimming to get the engine to sit properly. Mocking up engine mounts now. Once the engine sits where I want it, will figure out how to make the turbo and an intercooler work.
  18. This looks awesome! Excellent work.
  19. Model car nerd. Music nerd. I play guitar, build guitars, buy music, discuss music. I'm like the rain man of useless guitar knowledge. Sci Fi nerd.
  20. Are you looking at a new one? We have a number of these in our fleet. Pretty much bulletproof. We've had no concerns with them. Although there is currently a recall on the Duramax engined ones, and the replacement part has been a challenge to get. We had one ordered for a client, and it was delayed three weeks while awaiting the part. I'm 6'6" and I fit comfortable, but the back seat is kind of small. My kids are 10 and 13, and I wouldn't want to put them back there for a long roadtrip. I'd choose it over a Toyota Tacoma for sure.
  21. Hmm..I think that Viper render is horrible. Looks like a Hot Wheels car. Personally, I always felt the Viper was a bad car. Yeah, it had performance, but the rest of the car was so bad, it was never really a contender for...anything. Can I see it coming back for 2021? Possibly. But I see the entire car coming back as something unrecognizable as a Viper. It'll be sent upscale, trying to compete with the Ford GT, and the upcoming mid-engine Corvette. Will not be priced less than $150k US. And I'll bet it has some sort of mild-Hybrid system. Some sort of electric assist.
  22. That price is crazy. I don't care what anyone says, no car is worth that much money. If I had Richard Branson money, I'd buy cars like that, and then tick off the automotive snobs by driving it. Not abusing it, but driving it constantly. Racking up miles, taking it to autocross track days, basically doingh what it was intended to do. Man...that would annoy so many people.
  23. I likethe first one, but would have him holding the scythe in his other hand. Just standing up at his side.
