  1. I still kick myself for trading away the sedan delivery I had. I can't even remember what I traded it for. *sigh*
  2. I suspect most of the custom cars from the 50s and 60s would crumple like a paper bag in any sort of accident.
  3. It's not as simple as just scanning in some old magazines. If we're doing it, we're going to do it right. That means high resolution images. It won't be just some jpgs or a pdf file for each issue. You need to be able to "turn the pages" and click links to advertisers where applicable, and click on any social media links, or email addresses. Maybe clicking on images to blow them up to wallpaper size. It's a big job. And we like the idea. We want to do it eventually. But producing current magazines on a timely schedule, adding content, sorting out printing/post office/delivery issues, and getting the forum and website back to 100% are far more important things right now. Once we have all of that under control, then maybe we have a look at digitizing the archives. Now I am going to take off my staff hat for a minute. I wonder how many people would actually pay for it. Every time having digital copies available for new issues, such as on Magzter or something comes up, we inevitably get a chorus of people saying they prefer print and don't want or need a digital subscription. Every time the topic of a nominal fee for increased content on the forum comes up, we get people saying that they won't pay and aren't interested. So if we had digital archives available, would people actually pay? I know some of us would, but would there be enough interest to justify the cost and the effort?
  4. I wonder if Nissan saw your build. https://www.motor1.com/news/693834/nissan-safari-rally-z-tribute-sema-show/
  5. Some real beauties there! That blue/white Suburban with the plaid seats is really speaking to me.
  6. A rear wheel drive two-door with barn doors?! I am highly jealous of you right now. This has always been my fav body style of truck. Have owned many over the years. I've been hunting for a nice rear wheel drive Tahoe or Suburban. I want to build it into a "Tahoe 454SS." And even though I found here a car, my 16 year old daughter wants a reg cab shortbox or stepside. So that's on the list too. I have/had a 99 Tahoe LT. Was going to be my project, turning it into a camping/adventure truck. But then I kind of gave it to my son, as he needed a vehicle to get back and forth to work and to uni.
  7. If you have SiriusXM, channel 107 is "Scream Radio" this year. Available on both the in car radios and on the app. Over on Spotify, Ozzy has put together his annual "Halloween Horrors" playlist. It's pretty great.
  8. Thanks! I used the Tamiya grey primer. Two coats with sanding in between. Then I hit it with the Tamiya grey. Can't recall right now what shade of grey. I know it's one of their aircraft greys. A couple of coats of that, followed by Tamiya's gloss black on the rockers. Once that dried, I masked off and used the semi-gloss black on the flares and grille. I kind of forgot to clearcoat. ? Looking at it now, I see some dog hair made into my photos too. Good times.
  9. I think it would be a great idea to be able to purchase the full archives. However, as mentioned above, CD/DVD has gone the way of the Dodo. I don't see it being viable to do a production run of CDs. If anything, having a full digital archive that we could access would be better. I believe this has been discussed in our editorial meetings, but it's not high on the priority list at this time. I think at some point, it will happen. As always, we'll keep you posted.
  10. I figured I should try doing a WIP on something. So here's the AMT Wild Hoss Bronco I've been very slowly working on. There won't be a lot of the original kit left when I'm done. I'm still doing a lot of 3d printing of parts, and haven't completely decided what will make its way onto the final product. So far though... Ford 5.2L Predator V8 with tranmission Ford 5.0L Coyote V8 with transmission Fuel Militia wheels with a couple of choices of larger tires New seats New shocks Roof rack with cargo basket LED cube lights LED offroad lights front & rear bumpers with winch, tire mount, etc. storage boxes, coolers, offroad recovery gear Not sure on final colour, but I know the chrome will all be gone. And I still need to figure out how I'm going to lift it. And now, some pics...
  11. Still my all time fav truck body style. These OBS GMs are just perfect. Looking forward to following your build.
  12. And this is a little unique. We just added the Ford Performance FP700 package to one of our trucks. 2023 F150 XLT. 22" wheels, exhaust, some stripes, custom leather, dashboard plate, and a supercharger. Now putting out around 700hp. Hence the name of the package. I'm trying to convince them to lower the truck a little. A 4/5" drop would look awesome on this. Not sure why we added the ugly mudflaps though.
  13. In our showroom here at work. Our service manager let us store his car for him.
  14. Went and saw Tool last night. Amazing show. This is the third time I've seen them, and they always do a first rate visual show. Lights, lasers, video...awesome. The venue posted all kinds of warnings about how the artist had made this a camera-free concert, including cellphones. And throughout the show, security was going up and down the aisles warning people. Only saw one person escorted out. And I liked that. Have been to so many shows where all you see is a sea of screens. Just watch and enjoy the show. I usually snap a couple of pics as mementos and then I'm good. So on the last song, they actually thanked the crowd for enjoying the show, and then told us to get out our phones and take as many pics as we wanted for the last song. So I got a couple.
  15. Have always liked these Jags. Love that it looks basically stock. I've seen a few of these conversions where the owners feel the need to add wheels and stuff.
  16. Tamiya Ford Sierra XR4i - 1985 seems to be the only release. The Tamiya Volvo 850s. 1995 is the only release for these beauties. 850 Turbo Estate 850 BTCC Estate 850 BTCC Sedan AMT 1966 Mercury Comet Cyclone - I believe this was only done once, then irreversibly modified into other kits.
  17. Oh, and this is the only late front end kit I've seen. https://whitechocolate124.com/product/vw-t3-t25-big-bumpers/ I have some of his other VW transkits, and they are excellent. Will be getting this one eventually.
  18. I'm not aware of any resin transkits for this one, and I've been looking for ages for one. Having said that, it is available to 3D print. I have the files, but haven't gotten around to printing it just yet. The files look really good though. https://cults3d.com/en/3d-model/various/volkswagen-t3-transporter-pickup-doble-cab-1979
  19. Personally, I would apply the decals then apply a very light mist coat of clear, then when that's dry, clear it as normal.
  20. Been a while, so here's a picture dump. Fellow Star Wars nerds will get it... For the metal nerds like me...
  21. I'd definitely consider the files for printing if you made them available.
  22. First snowfall of the season overnight. I'm one of those weirdos that likes winter. It's only an inch or so, and the temps today will be warm enough that it will all be melted later today, but it's a start. Glad I put up the Christmas lights on Saturday when it was warm! Will turn them on around the end of November.
  23. First snow of the season overnight. And of course, even though it's only an inch of snow, that will be fully melted by lunchtime, there were three vehicles in the ditch this morning on my commute to work. My commute is 7 minutes long, and the highway portion is all of 5km/3miles. And of course, even though we've been reminding people for literally weeks, and the tire shops have been reminding people and advertising since August; the snow is a total surprise to everyone ?, and the lineup outside of our service department of people that need their winters tires installed today is ridiculous. Ugh, never changes.
