We use beavers, not chimps. ?

Last year I ordered a kit from the US Amazon site. It was shipped in a bag and arrived with the box far more crushed than yours. I took a lot of pics. Opened it up, and somehow, no damage to the contents. None whatsoever. But I sent the pics to Amazon and explained that they shipped fragile stuff in a bag. They refunded me in full, told me to keep the product. So I ordered another. Funny thing is, the Canadian site has never been an issue. Always shipped securely.

Not a fan of football at all. Watched the 4th quarter and the extra quarter though. I just hope both teams had fun.

Nah, that would be too obvious, like when the old school guys would hide fuel in the frame. I think we'd see things like lighter weight components, engine parts that "spool" up and rotate more quickly due to lighter weight or whatever. Lots of messing around with the programming. Will be fun to watch the innovation that happens. Time to make some peoples' eyes twitch. Will be fun to watch the hotrodding of the EV racecars, and then see everyday EV drivers hotrod their cars using the same tech. Just like the old days. -

I think one of the requirements of any racing is to creatively interpret the rules! -

That's exactly how it should be! I could see large fleets 100% getting on board with this and converting EVs to be compatible. -
Issue 223?

Should hopefully start seeing them by end of February. -

I really wish the manufacturers could have gotten together and agreed on a couple of battery "standards" for the EVs. Much like we have AA, AAA, C, D, etc. Have a couple of different sizes, and some quick change stations that could swap it out in 5 minutes, and that would have been excellent. Maybe one day we'll see each brand have replaceable batteries. Just like my power tools and my weed wacker. -

I know, I know. ? When I say "real" NASCAR, I'm referring to the top tier race. The Cup Series, I think? Whatever they call it now. -

Following the rules is the same thing. But the rules and regs for an EV race would be different than an ICE race, as would the format of the race. Shorter races work just fine for other race series. BTCC, DTM, Formula E, Formula2, Formula 3, etc. Even the existing feeder series within the world of NASCAR are shorter than the main series. If NASCAR were to bring out a separate e-race, it would by necessity be a shorter race, and would be an addition to a race weekend. eNASCAR would never replace "real" NASCAR. I'm somewhat surprised at how many people are upset at and against the possibility that there could be more types of racing in the future. -

The other guy asked what happens in a crash. I posted a crash. And if you had watched the whole thing, it's an offset front crash. Kind of like how Earnhardt did it. Proves that not all EV crashes end in a fire as the anti-EV brigade would have us believe. Shows the battery pack leaving the car. Does not show an EV battery pack on fire. Which is obviously what you're looking for. Crashes that prove your narrative. -
Issue 223?

Issue 223 has not mailed yet, so no one has a copy. -

Nicely done! I 3d printed one of these. Scaled it down to 1/24 so it matches my cars and trucks. -
The various postal services have really been a let down with this issue. We're not entirely sure what the holdup has been. We sent this issue to print back in November, and it was delayed literally everywhere it gets mailed to. No one got their issues on time with this one.

Just diecasts though, right?

The point is, just like a gas engine, there are many ways to tune an EV drivetrain. And just like a gas racecar, there would be rules the teams must follow. It's the same thing. -
At 19:18, did he say they were going to do a Warlock in 1/18 scale? That's different Another AMT trailer reissue. They just re-did the Great Dane reefer trailer a year or so ago, so I guess it was due for another? Yeah, I thought they got the lighting wrong in this video. Too bright, washes out some detail.

Here's a pretty violent EV crash. No explosions, no fires. But I'm sure the organizers are looking at the safety measures and emergency equipment they would need to have on hand should a fire break out. Just like in other racing, crashes and fires do sometimes happen, and everyone needs to be able to manage it. -
I'm definitely interested in this one.

The sad thing is...that exists. They did it during the dark times of 2020-2021. Real racecar drivers, virtual racing, and people actually paid and/or tuned in to watch the "live" racing. To be fair, the system they used has some pretty fantastic graphics and simulations. And it technically was real drivers using their skills. It was kind of interesting, but not something I'd be excited about. https://www.formula1.com/en/latest/article.formula-1-launches-virtual-grand-prix-series-to-replace-postponed-races.1znLAbPzBbCQPj1IDMeiOi.html -
What did you see on the road today?
iamsuperdan replied to Harry P.'s topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Had some visitors at work yesterday. We've been talking quite a bit with the team from Arctic Trucks over the past month or so. So they called last week and asked if the Transglobal Car Expedition team could swing by. That way we can have a look at the Arctic Trucks in person. And that's what they did. Brought by three of their AT44 6X6 trucks, a handful of their Expedition Timberlines with AT35 package. If successful, this will be the very first expedition that has driven to both the north pole and south pole in the same trip. Very cool stuff. And if you're curious: transglobalcar.com -
"Going to play with your toy cars?" Ultimately, it doesn't bother her. I have a hobby that doesn't cost a lot in the big picture. I'm not out at the bar drinking. I'm not out spending big money on a side by side or sled or whatever. I'm not spending every weekend and most evenings at a golf course or buying $1000 clubs. Plus, I'm smart about it. We make good money, but I really don't spend much on the hobby. Could totally spend more, but I don't. I'm sure if I started spending a ton on kits and supplies and tools, then she might have some issues with it. But I don't, so we're good.
