New project... 69 nova
iamsuperdan replied to 426 pack's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
That's awesome that you were able to put the deal together! And it's crazy to think that a magazine feature car came from Bluesky, Alberta. I've been to Bluesky. Maybe 100 people live there? Even fewer back in the 70s. -

I wonder this all the time. I see old magazines and wonder what became of the cars and trucks featured. Movie and TV cars too. And so many times, it's like they've just been discarded. It bums me out. -
The files are readily available to purchase if you have a 3d printer. Expensive though.

Looking forward to seeing more! Once I clear a few old builds off the bench, I'll be starting mine. I always like seeing what other people run into when building, so I know what to look out for. ?

Yes, sort of hard to find, but not really worth the effort. Very basic 1/32 scale snap kit. And not a very good one. My first car was a 78 Thunderbird, so I wanted one of these Lindberg kits so I could build a replica. Found one last summer on eBay for a reasonable price. I think I paid $35 including shipping. To say I was disappointed when I opened it up is an understatement. Maybe a dozen parts, very simplistic. Luckily, I have the files and will be 3D printing a 1/24 version.

That is a stunner! Love the steel wheels and hubcap look.

Another day, another concert. Whitechapel In Flames Meshuggah A most excellent show. In Flames are a favourite of mine, and were the main reason I went to this show. My son and his friends are huge Meshuggah fans, so they wer pry excited. Not a lot of long hair there, but lots of werido beardos. In Flames Meshuggah I'm not exactly full of energy this morning. Was worth it though.

What did you see on the road today?

Dropped a car off at my buddy's shop. Getting a full ppf wrap. Our first 2024 Mustang Dark Horse. And this old beast was there too. And parked in the back. Groovy! -

Lots of concerts this month. First it was Tool at the end of October. Amazing show. Then it was Depeche Mode last week. One of my fav bands, and never disappoint. Then Friday night was Big Wreck. Just awesome straight up rock. Can't remember the last time I went to a club show. Didn't get any decent pics at Skinny Puppy though. Which is fine. Didn't try too hard. Tonight is In Flames and Meshuggah. Will be tired tomorrow.

That could explain the current state! Roof is definitely gone. There appears to be no body at all past the windshield frame. And the front clip is a sort of orange-y colour. Could be school bus yellow. I want to investigate further. Next time I'm in that area, I'll venture into the field. -

Yup! Is an Andrey file. I download the zip, then extract it into it's own folder. I typically don't move them at all. I haven't tried Blender, so maybe I should just try a different program. Computer should have enough RAM and whatnot, at least according to Chitubox's requirements on the site. Will keep messing about with it.

With so much negativity and so many sour people out there, it's nice that she is remaining relatively upbeat and can see a little humour in this. I've seen this story on a few different news channels now, including CNN last night. So I have no doubt that it will be made right for her. Eventually. Sometimes it seems like it's just me, but I have this habit of paying attention when I'm paying for things.

Everything looked good in 3D Builder. No red outlines or required repairs. And the facebook group was mostly of no assistance. There's one guy who was super helpful in trying to walk me through some potential fixes, but the rest was just people adamant that the file is just a shell for a video game and is not designed for 3d printing. I'm thinking the issue might be my computer itself. Graphics card maybe can't keep up with the demands of the full file size? I know if I load the build plate in Chitubox with a ton of files, such as when printing an engine, it slows down significantly. Going to try using CHitubox on another computer and see if that helps.

What about Nissan Hardbody pickups?
iamsuperdan replied to chryslerjunkandstuff's topic in Truck Kit News & Reviews
I think 3d printing is the only option right now for anything other than the 1/20 AMT kit. In both the Nissan and the Toyota. -
