  1. And yet you guys just keep on going on and on about it after being asked not to. We get it. You hate it. And you hate that others don't mind it.
  2. Been a really productive couple of weeks for me actually. Finished two builds and am mostly finished with build #3 for an upcoming magazine article. Started digging into and organizing 12 plastic bins full of models and model parts. Here's a pic of when I first brought it all home in spring. And got a good start on something I'm referring to as my Blasphemy Build. 3D printing replacement engine, wheels, tires, seats, and some other bits and pieces. Will also be my first foray into some serious scratchbuilding/modification of a kit. Some will dig it, others...not so much. Also starting to map out a couple of future magazine builds, and some personal builds. Been a busy month!
  3. As expected, this thread needed some cleanup. What started as a thread about a potential plastic model kit turned into a diatribe against EV cars, and against vehicle nomenclature. ? Try staying on something resembling on-topic.
  4. lolz. Good point! Maybe they can use this to bring back the motorized kits! Retro-cool!
  5. All the ones I mentioned had 4 doors launched either before or at the same time as the 2 doors. Many had wagon variants too. But you're right, the 2 doors of old are far more popular than the 4 doors. But that's the generations of the past. Today's youth don't know any different. If 4 door is all they've ever known, then that's what they'll be into. Anyway, I'd like to see Tamiya do a Mach E, full engine visible from underneath, with opening frunk. GT Premium trim level, with the factory Brembo brakes and big mesh wheels.
  6. I think I'm one of the few that love the big 70s cars! You're right though, they're not exactly cool.
  7. I get what you're saying. But I think kids today though are a lot like the kids of yesterday though. It's all about the speed. And right now, nothing is showing off speed more than the EVs. And kids today liking a somewhat bland looking family car? What about the past? Chev Belair - run of the mill family car Chev Chevelle - like a Malibu, standard family car Ford Galaxie - family car Pontiac GTO - based on LeMans...family car Chrysler B platform - started as family cars Yeah, classics now, but when new these were just average cars. Could hardly give them away when they were 5-10 years old. Anyway, I still think kids today will get more excited over a Tesla or Mach E model that a 50s Chev or 60s Ford that has no relevance to them.
  8. Good point. To attract the younger builders, the manufacturers should introduce the "cool" cars that they're into now. Getting production and sales of those should in theory allow them to keep manufacturing kits for the more experienced/older builders.
  9. I'd buy one in 1:24 scale for sure. And we're considering one in 1:1 scale to replace wifey's Volvo. They're fun to drive, lots of room inside for people and for stuff. Will do everything the average driver needs a car to do. Should have just called it a Mach E and left the Mustang name off it. Looking forward to the Shelby version that will inevitably happen. Cue the angry people now.
  10. Thanks, I figured that's what it was.
  11. The chassis says 1969 Camaro? Well that's odd.
  12. I have acquired this older Revell kit. Complete, but no box. I have not been able to find anything on this kit. The only Revell 66 Shelby appears to be their Hertz car. The pic on the instructions doesn't reflect this version though. I'm assuming this is a Revell rebox of the Monogram kit? Everything looks the same, but the instructions have the Revell logos. Any thoughts? Anyone have pics of the Revell box? I'm more curious than anything else, as I'm not a collector, and the build itself will be decidedly not stock.
  13. Exactly. Mine had the same issues. Moebius sent me a new hood and floor pan, both in perfect condition. My ramp parts were all warped. I didn't realize just how badly until I started assembly. I was actually kind of shocked to see how it straightened itself out. A little CA glue does the trick. In looking at it now, one would never know there was an issue.
  14. It's because of issues like these warped parts that I always open a kit and check it out when I buy it. That way, if there are issues, I can request parts immediately. If I wait a few years before opening and starting it; and THEN finding warped or damaged parts, what are the odds of getting replacement parts if it's out of production?
  15. Yup, 3D files are available for both 2 seat and 4 seat side by sides. I'm considering trying one. There's also a Ram 3500 Megacab duallie available for 3D printing. And A&N Model Trucks has a Ram 3500 crewcab duallie available now.
  16. I still love these things, and miss my old one constantly. Had a 93 XJ Sport. Four door with the 4.0L and an auto. Was somewhat of a rare spec, as it had the factory rear spare tire mount. Bought it in 1998 with less than 20,000km on it. Put almost half a million km on that thing. Countless camping trips, a couple of Jeep Jamborees. Definitely miss it.
  17. What's your Cults name? I'll definitely purchase those headlight files when they're ready!
  18. You should follow him on IG. His edits are fantastic. He did a series where he turned everything into a 454SS. And the OBS Chev trucks became Buicks and Oldsmobiles. Very cool stuff. Some good inspiration for modelling.
  19. You bet it is! I had to throw a little Canadiana into this build.
  20. Just started re-reading Christine. Prob my favourite book. I'll re-read it at least once a year. And heck, we're in spooky season now, so it fits. And it's so much better than the movie, which is saying a lot because I love that movie. Also, Into The Drowning Deep by Mira Grant. Read that recently. It's excellent, and definitely a little different. Give this bookstore a follow on IG. They have some good recommendations. https://www.horrorbookstore.com/
  21. As seen in MCM Issue 214. Here's a few more pics of the build. It's an AMT trailer kit. Simple, quick, turned out okay. The kit is definitely showing it's age though. Heck, the parts trees still had the original ERTL stampings. Still, we need these trailers to complete our trucks, right?
  22. I received my new hood and floor, but told them my ramp parts were usable, and that I could make it work. Well, when I got into the build, the parts were much worse than expected. I thought I'd be abandoning this build. But with the right amount of CA glue, and a smattering of NSFW language, I got it assembled, and it looks great. You cannot tell the parts were as bad as they were. Give it a try, you might be surprised at how well it straightens out! In fact, this build will be in an upcoming issue of MCM.
  23. Is this it? Wolves, snow covered mountains, the sea...
  24. Plus, with the demand for parts, it's very possible they've run out and need to do another production run.
