Finally some progress

The thick black paint is finally coming off and its a deluxe cab with all the trim which I doubt would never been ordered with a step side bed in the real world so thinking about finding a wide bed to put on it and build as a deluxe C20.

When did they come out.

The body will be soaked next year,I will just add a little detail to the body for now and stick it back on the shelf. I need to find the correct tail lights before I completely restore it,I needed some of the parts off the BBC for the longbed step side I do have soaking.

I built it over 40 years ago and decided to tinker with it some,it really needs a complete restoration but that will come later so while some paint and glue is drying I am going to take the Keystones off along with the two piece slicks and going to put steel rims on with some one piece slicks. The BBC is coming out and a Pontiac engine is going it.

Now to find a use for the box that came off it,its too heavy to use on a plastic model.

That Parma Chevy V8 sure looks like a Ford Y block.

Using the chassis from the hotrod convertible to make a hotrod coupe,painted it green like on the box and that is the chassis behind the 57.

Some progress.

Got body in primer and frame painted.

The reason I was not going to paint it is I thought I was going to break the windows trying to remove them but was able to get them out without doing any more damage,it was a crappy repaint I done back in the early 80s so time to fix it right.

Its going to get painted.

I had a Revell 57 Nomad break trying to take it apart to restore,tried to repair but kept breaking so it got used for parts.

Getting the six to fit right and the step bumper will work.

Made a lighter duty truck 4 speed from the one in the Lindberg Dodge cabover then find the all black one I did not know I had,it will be going on the 300 six.

The Mobius six will fit and will be using the rear step bumper from the 70 F 100,thinking about just rebuilding the chassis and leaving the body alone and do a little more detailing.

Built it back in the mid 70s and was eventually going to get around to restoring it but the scenes Unlimited tires and rims came in so its going to be done sooner,I will get the tires tucked it better when I fix the suspension. I wish the original camper special rims were made since it could use some wider rims on the rear but these will do and thinking about putting the six from a Mobius kit in it,those tires are much better then what came with it.

It has paint again and will be going togather shortly.

I would love to see the original kit come back out,I do have one unbuilt that I am planning on building some day but would leave it alone if a new kit came out.

Its a green I found at the part store,this was my second time using the chrome pen and did not come out as nice as I would like but it was the second time it had been painted and did not want to do it over again. I wish it would have came with the cheap chrome trim like the 2 door sedan which would have been easier for me to do.

Yes that is what I would like to have.

It was on the porch when I got home from work,as son as I finish the 57 Ford wagon I will start on it. Going to be built as a 50s hotrod.
