That van would be the coolest.

Here's the info from the website. but that HAS to be a typo. Kit runs cost way more than that! A sweet ’n’ lowdown show stopper. Originally custom built for the Firestone Super Stones sweepstakes. KIT FEATURES: • 1/25 Scale, skill 2, paint and cement required • Loaded with custom options • New pad printed Firestone Super Sports tires • New/large chrome vector wheels • Expanded decal sheet with colorful options • Vintage style packaging • Limited to only 500 kits! • Only available at Auto World Store!

That's a nice clean build. Lots of nice subtle detail work.

Nice job on a kit that is difficult to get looking good!

amt 1202 1/25 AMT 1963 Chevy II Nova Station Wagon - Craftsman Plus
Dave Darby replied to Casey's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
I'm pretty surprised the Imperial came back. Most of the 1958-62 annuals were scrapped during the great purge of 1973. But who knows what the future holds. I have a feeling the old MPC tooled AMT 65 Coronet tool still exists, minus the chassis insert somewhere in their vaults.- 599 replies

The gorgeous Deuces I've been seeing in this thread are going to be a very tough act to follow. But here are my humble contributions. This is my very first box art replica build, from back in 1999-2000. I built the purple one below it around the same time. Ths one came a short time later, but was eventually blown back apart and repainted, with different front rolling stock added. I'll close out with a few survivors... This one, an ancient box art build of the kit Bernard replicated... -
Way bitchin-cool!

Hey George, that's one gorgeous build. So do spill the beans... What's the paint on there?

LOL. Good one.

Looking great. I am enjoying watching your build process. I have one I started back in the early 1990s I really need to finish. If I was to do it again, I'd certainly do as you did with the 70 Charger underbody. I'm too lazy and too far along now for that to happen. I'm not happy with how far rearward I applied the roof pillar graphics, but one of these days I'll finish it. Anyway, yours is looking great! What color is it going to be?

Looks great Tim. I also like the more era appropriate white walls. Eric would be most pleased.

Looking good!

I like it. I suppose a guy could use the wheel openings from the Revell 68-9 Dart kits? Be neat to see a a stock or stock-ish 70 Dart.

The EXCLUSIVELY '32 VICKY ONLY thread. Show us what you got!!!
Dave Darby replied to mrm's topic in Model Cars
I'm seeing some pretty cool Vickys here. I haven't built one for myself in a few decades (Was the AMT Fire Chief - long gone), but I do have a couple of cool survivors to share... This green one was built in 1963. Then there is this box stock box art replica... Thanks for looking! -
Built from the 1964 (3rd issue Deuce Roadster) AMT kit. Kit stock except for the tires. The rears are from the 27 T/XR-6 kit, and the front are from the MAALCO Mustang Gasser. I actually started this one around 20 years ago, and wasn't happy with the color. (Then Testors Competition Orange, now Testors 1231 Bright Red.) A little History tidbit, this configuration was available in 3 different releases. The yellow Trophy Series box, the blue dealer promo box, and with a slightly different decal sheet in the Bonnie & Clyde Series. When AMT reissued this kit for the Street Rod series, they removed the side mount spares, welded off the gates to all the drag parts, and replaced the tonneau cover with a rear mounted spare tire. It was reissued in that configuration for a couple of decades, until the Pro Shop issue in 1998. nearly all of the drag parts were returned to the kit, except of course, the tonneau cover. I actually started this one around 20 years ago, and wasn't happy with the color. In an old photo below, you can see the difference the change in front rolling stock made. If you have Facebook, and like replicas of the old box art, we have a group called (appropriately enough) Box Art Replicas. Enjoy, and thanks for looking.

McLovin it.

For a kit that was tooled in 1959, it sure builds up nice today. Great job!

This is the newer 2002 tool Ala Kart.

RPM bought both Testors and Rustoleum years ago, and are slowly rebranding most of their paints as Rustoleum. Model Master is discontinued, but so far, not Testors.
