  1. WOW! Fantastic! The weathering looks well done. Nice Build! Chris
  2. Beautiful clean build. I love the wheel swap too. Great work. Can't wait to see what you do next! Chris
  3. I wanted to say gulf blue, but that would be to light. Looks like a few shades darker. I'm having a hard time finding it. I'll keep looking. Chris
  4. Mark, beautiful build. Always love seeing your stuff. Clean, crisp build. Chris
  5. NICE NICE NICE! Looking forward to seeing this all together. The wheels and paint combination will look killer! Chris
  6. Bill, glad you never really left! Good to see you on the boards. Have a great holiday season! Chris
  7. Exactly! Speeds up the process. Also, if you paint with cans it works well for heating them. Decals is another item. It dries them snug to the body, but make sure they are on exactly as you want them. I found it to be a pretty cool modeling tool. Chris
  8. Cool Larry! I picked up the convert for something fun and quick to build, eventually! LOL Probably get the coupe version too so my son can build one. Looking forward to your review. Chris
  9. That's looking really nice. Looking forward to seeing what rims you utilize. I think the California is a nice car as long as the hardtop is up. Keep the updates coming! Chris
  10. Copy 153 received in Minnesota today as well. Chris
  11. Mark, you have to finish that. The best one I have seen as far as a MV car goes. Chris
  12. Its been a few years since I've taken pictures, but it really hasn't changed much with exception to what is being built on the bench: pictures start by walking in and going clockwise. That's the gist of it. I have a room attached to it as well that is storage right now, but once the boys are out of the house it will be my display room. I have a Hobby Shop display case as well as the case you see in the first picture for built kits. Chris
  13. Their were a few of these cars used for filming(naturally) as was a Pantera camera car. If you watch the pilot episode of Miami Vice you note that the Corvette based Daytona utilized pop up headlights. Later episodes had the clear covers over the lights due to laws. Technically the Revell kit is based off the pilot episode and a Corvette. Hence the problems you are running into to. Just build it the best you can and be happy. If you want to go MV route I'd suggest a Fujimi enthusiast kit. Chris
  14. Amazing work Peter. You have some great visions. Always look forward to your work. Looking forward to the ZR1 GT3 piece. Chris
  15. Here's a set from ebay: eBay honeycombs Maybe shoot the seller an email. Chris
  16. Gary, While I have never gone to the show as I live in MN. I would highly recommend attending. This show is put on by one of the best model clubs I've seen. Nothing but rave reviews from any attendee I have talked to. I don't think you would regret it. Lots of top builders from around the country attend this show. I do believe they have coverage from the Model magazines as well. It's on my "to attend" list someday when my boys are out of the house. Chris
  17. James, there is also a seller on ebay that has some really nice looking honeycomb wheels with photo etch trim rings that look spectacular. They are by Missing Link, but they are $12 buy it now. Not sure if they have any listed yet, but I thought they posted here too. The only discrepancy I would see is that they would be too small in those giant wheel wells on the car. Bigger tires or more material on the wheels. Maybe even lowering it would help the look. Just some suggestions now that I see I am rambling. Chris
  18. Nice work Zoli! Did you do anything different with the wheels and suspension? What SMS carbon fiber did you use? Did you fiber the lip and side skirts too? Great build and quick! Chris
  19. James, Good Luck to you on the kit. I hope that when you start you can let us follow. While I don't care for the kit I got, I don't mind the look my friend is going for. It's just a matter of getting it done now. I've seen other ones built that look great and weren't warped, I just got a bad one. Maybe it will get me to finish my friends and I can get it out of my house. Chris
  20. Very nice! Met. Black works extremely well on this car. I was able to talk to an owner of one in black this year. His had Daytona seats with yellow inserts and stitching. What a color combo! Great build!! Thanks for sharing! Chris
  21. James, Mine came with two hoods and this one fit the best if that tells you anything. I told my friend I was gluing the hood shut. Super glue and 5 minute epoxy. Here's where its at with the front which is three pieces by the way.: rear: Chris
  22. I've had two of the three: Their is one more out there though. Chris
  23. A friend purchased one for me to build to his specs. I have heard mixed reviews on the kit and it really all depends on the body you get. The one I used/using is a tad warped. I've done lots of cutting and filling blah blah blah. While the cars I have seen look great you have a lot of work ahead of you. While I have had his model for about 3 years I am almost done. I can only stand to work on it a few minutes at a time. It's one of those kits to me. Here are a few shots of where I am at. I think windows, tails, spoilers and it would be done, but the biggest part is how awkward the chassis sits inside the body. Mine just plain doesn't fit. All the grinding, cutting etc and the chassis still sits kitty whom-pas. Check out the fit! Chris
  24. Rob, I read somewhere that Fujimi was going to do a 997 GT3R, was another board. Chris
  25. I had heard something like this was in the pipe. I'll buy the kit too. I'm thinking red for it. Chris
