Greg, Glad to see you got it together with ease! Looks great! Nice to see it filled too! LOL Believe it or not I had four racks. I'm utilizing two of them and one has the Model Master base. One I sold you and I have another in storage I might put on emodelcars once I dig it out and find an adequate shipping box. Thanks again for your patience with me too. The hectic schedule is only getting worse for me. Chris

Cruz, beautiful work so far. I absolutely love your cleanliness of the build. I really look forward to seeing this one completed. I agree with most, it is/was a beautiful design. I have the luxury of being able to look at one here every month for our Cars & Cafe. So easy to look at. Chris

I've got the electric shaker, probably 15 years old now and has worked well for me. Tougher paints I utilize the badger mixer that's been shown here. Both to me are good sound investments. Both serve a purpose and are used on a regular basis. Chris

This was my first time at this event. I've always heard great things about it and was really looking forward to it. I was more excited to see and meet the people I read about in this hobby. Going to this show has cemented the fact that I am in a great hobby with great people. People I have never met that only know me from being on here or other sites introducing themselves to me. WOW! Meeting and talking throughout the show was really the highlight for me. What great people and great show. While I brought some junk to display I would have never thought I would have placed with a bronze for my Ferrari 599 GTB: I would have never thought! I was so pumped. I met so many guys I can't remember them all but give them a full hear-ted Thank You for making me feel at home and critiquing me professionally. I will become a better builder because of that. Here are a few pictures for you, and keep in mind this is an IPMS style show so there is a little bit of everything all over my album. Sounds like they had a record turnout as well. I also have to add that Matt Usher from Fine Scale Modeler took pictures of my 599. COOL! All 357 pictures can be found at MY FOTKI NORDICON Chris

Thanks so much for all the comments guys. I really love the Aston Martin. I find the pearl colors to be a bit more elegant for them and they fit nicely. Thanks! Chris

Audi R8 GT3.....one down, three more to go
crispy replied to Peter Lombardo's topic in WIP: Model Cars
Peter, you're a machine. I absolutely love each of your builds. Great work and thanks for sharing the techniques with us. I know it makes me a better modeler. Chris -
Nice and clean as usual Krishna! Thanks for sharing! Chris

Hey guys, I really appreciate your comments. The kit builds beautifully. The only problem is that seam line on the rear quarters. take your time and block that bad boy out. Again, thanks for the boost! Chris

Just completed my Tamiya Aston Martin. Particulars: Exterior: Scalefinishes.com Morning Frost White (Pearl) Interior: Floquil Tuscan, thinned and airbrushed. The rest is built right out of the box. It sits right it looks right. I cannot wait to see what else Tamiya comes up with for more AM cars. There are a few more at MY FOTKI, ASTON MARTIN Since Minnesota is having technical difficulties with the sun, those outdoor pictures will have to wait. Thanks for looking. Chris

Just wanted to re-iterate the show for tomorrow. Don, I look forward to seeing you. Hoping the turnout is good. Chris

Greg, got a box and will have it packed and weighed this weekend. I have to apologize for the delay. Thanks for your patience! Chris

Looks great ans as was mentioned the angles of photography flatter the car. Even in 1:1 scale this is a hard car to photograph for me. Great work! Chris

Terry you forgot the Lamborghini Countach 5000! While I enjoy the lines of the LP400 I absolutely love the 500 and its beautifully garish wing! The Sl will certainly be a hit. That car looks mad sitting still. Chris

I agree, it looks pretty good. I love the Fuchs wheels. They just add something to the car for me. Chris

Perfect for Moebius?
crispy replied to Chuck Most's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I like Moebius because they are willing to try something different and out of the norm for their automotive subjects. Look at the three they are doing, I would have never thought of them. That's cool and different. Now, with all that said I think they should go for the Mclaren F1. That is all...... Chris -
It's been awhile since I've updated anything about emodelcars.com. The site just reached 1002 registered users. There has been approximately 250-300 auctions running. I know some of you always bellyache about it either being NASCAR or the same old stuff. It's not the case though. I agree there is a lot of the same stuff, but it is updated occasionally and I hope you take the time to check out the site at least once or twice a week. If everyone here that was trading or trying to sell out would utilize the "FREE" site we could acquire more traffic, more items for buyers and more sellers. The only cost you incur is if you add on premiums of which are only $1.00. Check out the auctions running now: CURRENT AUCTIONS The site is set up similar to ebay but is much easier to use in my opinion, and it is free! This is just a friendly update and notice for any newcomers to the site. Chris

Nothing like that. Just different poses. Some are wearing hats, stuff like that.

I'm pretty disappointed no one ever mentions emodelcars.com It's similar to ebay but without the fees! List items for free, sell items and still free! You are also able to accept most any type of payment you prefer. The only things that cost money are premium items like bold, highlight, featured. I strongly encourage you to check it out. Craigs list has scammers to deal with, and selling an entire collection to one guy will net you a small sum. Yes, e-selling means packing and shipping too, but at least you can ask what you want out of the kits. Again, just my suggestion. Chris

45 degrees this morning, but warmed up nicely. A beautiful day for beautiful cars. Here's a sampling: Where's Waldo? Hood wrap on an Audi. Porsche Panamera Turbo. Beautiful Pearl White Bentley: Not one, but two of the exact same GT3 RS'. both owned by one guy. Ferrari 599 GTB Nice BMW advertisement for BMW of Minnetonka My pick of the day, Powder Blue Porsche More at MY FOTKI Chris

I bought a California as well, from Michaels too. I knew full well what to expect when I opened my kit. I was not surprised in the least. The problem is most definitely a too tightly wrapped body which smashes down the frame and starts to warp the body. Here's where my story differs. I went through the Revell website and requested a new body and filled in all the blanks. I went so far as to take pictures of the bad body just in case. Within a week I received a brand new body, not so tightly wrapped and not so warped. Revell did A-O.K. in my book. Chris

Luc, Seriously? WOW. That's disappointing that the US version wouldn't get them. Not that I'd use them, but doing a template would have been easier. Thanks for the update. Chris
